RECORD DE INSCRIPCIÓN EN EL RALLY CLÁSICO ISLA MALLORCA

Una vez cerradas las inscripciones para el séptimo rally Clásico Isla Mallorca, nos complace anunciar que este año se ha batido el record de participantes con un total de 76 equipos.
Contaremos también con un gran atractivo para todos aquellos que valoran los superdeportivos modernos, la participación como coche 0 del New Stratos, un coche exclusivo y único ( solo existe una unidad ) que reinventa el mítico Lancia Stratos que tanto significó para el mundo de los Rallyes.
Su propietario y a su vez impulsor del proyecto New Stratos, ha elegido precisamente el Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca para poner a prueba por primera vez en un Rally, el que será sin duda un coche que dará mucho que hablar este año, tanto por su estética como por sus prestaciones.
Aclamado por la prensa internacional como uno de los mejores coches deportivos del año, el New Stratos es la culminación de un sueño, una fantasía hecha realidad que se encontrará en la isla con su predecesor, ya que también contamos con dos Lancia Stratos de los años 70 participando en el Rally.
Así pues, ya está todo preparado para que el próximo día 10 de marzo, de comienzo el séptimo Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca, La ceremonia de salida se realizará este año desde la plaza de las golondrinas, al necesitar más espacio para el gran número de participantes de esta edición.
El jueves día 10 a las 19:00 h. volveremos a disfrutar de un rally que cada año se consolida un poco más en el calendario internacional y atrae a nuevos participantes para enamorarse de las carreteras de Mallorca.
Como viene siendo habitual, se han introducido nuevos tramos además de seguir manteniendo los recorridos más apreciados por los participantes y aficionados. DAVID SALOM 4º EN PHILIP ISLAND

Emocionante y muy muy disputada, así ha sido la primera prueba del Mundial de Supersport celebrada en Australia.
David Salom partía desde la pole position seguido por las Honda de Foret y Lowes. El piloto mallorquín se mostraba relajado en "su primera vez" desde esta posición.
Excelente salida de Salom aunque cedía su posición en las primeras vueltas donde Lowes y Parkes se disputaban la cabeza de carrera, pero en el sexto giro Salom daba un golpe de efecto colocándose líder y abriendo hueco con el resto del grupo.
El piloto del Team Motocard Provec, marcaba la vuelta rápida y lideró la carrera durante ocho vueltas, pero en la decimotercera su neumático delantero fallaba y le impedía seguir el ritmo que había marcado hasta el momento, el grupo perseguidor formado por Scassa, Lowes y Parks, marchaban separados por pocas milésimas de segundo y dejaban a Salom en cuarta posición a falta de cinco vueltas para el final.
David Salom no podía apurar la frenada y le resultaba imposible adelantar, la brecha abierta en su goma delantera le obligaba a conservar si no quería terminar en el suelo.
Finalmente Salom cruzaba la meta en cuarta posición a pocas décimas del vencedor de la prueba.
Salom: "Hemos hecho una buena salida y teníamos el ritmo necesario para estar delante, lástima que el neumático delantero me ha obligado a bajar un poco el ritmo y no he podido luchar por el pódium, pero estamos ahí, el equipo y la moto funcionan de maravilla, espero poder conseguir mejores resultados en las próximas carreras."

Andreu Oliver – 2ª plaza en Cadetes en Castellolí (Barcelona)

Este domingo 27 de febrero se ha celebrado en Castellolí (Barcelona) la primera prueba del Campeonato de España de Trial, participando en la categoría de Cadetes el piloto del Grup de Trial Pollença Andreu Oliver. Este deportista del "Centre de Tecnificació de Motociclisme de la Escola Balear de l’Esport" que esta dirigido por Sebastiá Crespí, ha conseguido una meritoria segunda posición, en un durísimo trial que se ha caracterizado por unas zonas muy exigentes que se han complicado con la lluvia caida en las últimas horas. Andreu sumó 75 puntos al término de la primera vuelta, colocándose en la tercera posición, pero mejoró en el segundo giro, entregando su tarjeta con 77 puntos, que le dieron un total de 152 puntos, que lo auparon a la segunda posición final.

Entrega los Trofeos de FAIB 2009 y 2010

ENTREGA DE TROFEOS FAIB.

La Federació d’Automobilisme hizo la entrega de los trofeos de las temporadas 2009 y 2010 en el Restaurante Can Penasso. El acto estuvo presidido por Rafael Ferragut y contó con la presencia de muchos pilotos y aficionados que no quisieron perderse la fiesta anual del automovilismo balear. Sin embargo se notaron algunas ausencias como la de Sebastián Galmés, subcampeón de rallyes 2010.

Además de entregar los premios de la pasada temporada, la FAIB también quiso hacer entrega de los galardones correspondientes al año 2009 que dejó pendiente la anterior Junta Gestora. Por lo que respecta a la temporada 2010 recordar que en el campeonato de rallyes Dani Lozano y Pep Riera se proclamaban campeones, mientras que Sebastián Galmés era subcampeón en pilotos y Jaime Martorell en copilotos. En cuanto a la montaña Mario Hekke se anotaba el campeonato ante Andrés Barceló.

David Salom: POLE POSITION PARA EL PILOTO MALLORQUÍN

David Salom ha conseguido su primera pole position en el Campeonato del Mundo, marcando el mejor tiempo de los entrenamientos cronometrados de Philip Island, con un crono de 1,34,070.
Esta próxima madrugada ( hora española ) se disputará la primera carrera de la temporada del Mundial de Supersport en la que partirá desde la primera posición de parrilla el piloto mallorquín a los mandos de la Kawasaki ZX6 del Team Motocard.
Salom ha realizado una excelente pre-temporada y acude a esta primera prueba mejor preparado que nunca, con un equipo dispuesto a darlo todo por conseguir el objetivo más ambicioso, el título mundial de Supersport.
David Salom: "Estamos trabajando muy bien y hemos conseguido una buena puesta a punto, pero a pesar de haber conseguido esta pole, no podemos relajarnos ante los rivales que vienen muy fuertes y en la pista habrá que luchar duro para defender la posición."

Max Snegirev switches from F3 to Formula Two

Russian ex-FPA pilot joins the 2011 entry list

Russia’s Max Snegirev is the latest addition to the 2011 FIA Formula Two Championship line-up after his place on the grid was confirmed today. 

Snegirev moves up to F2 after competing in F3 in 2010. Max took part in all four days of the F2 winter testing at the end of 2010 and acclimatised very well, being regularly in the top ten on the time sheets.  He was particularly impressive at Portimão, where he challenged for fastest time alongside experienced F2 drivers Jack Clarke, Alex Brundle and Benjamin Lariche.

Prior to testing, Max spent 2010 competing in the British F3 International series with Fortec Motorsport. At the end of the season he then contested the final two rounds of the Formula Palmer Audi Championship, enjoying great success as he claimed one win and three podiums from the seven races.

Max’s single seater career stretches back to 2007 when he made his debut in Formula Palmer Audi. He stayed in the series in 2008, before dovetailing a season in the British F3 National class with races in Formula Renault.

He becomes the fourth Russian to compete in the new era of Formula Two, following Mikhail Aleshin, Sergey Afanasiev – who finished third in the standings in 2009 and 2010 respectively – and Ivan Samarin.

"I’m really looking forward to the season, and I’m confident I can deliver results," Snegirev declared. "After seeing how the championship was run and structured during winter testing I didn’t hesitate to join, and I’m feeling really good about the season.

"I’ve seen already in testing the high level of professionalism, and with some great tracks this year, equal opportunity for every driver and of course the F1 and GP2 prizes, I feel F2 has very good attributes and is the best platform for drivers to develop.

"I’m not setting any benchmarks though, as a few guys have done F2 for a number of seasons and it’s obviously going to be a challenge. I just want to be competitive, and I already feel good with the car after testing. I had a difficult year in F3 but at the same time I learned a lot, so I am just concentrating on my own goals and I’m extremely motivated."

Jonathan Palmer, Formula Two Series Director, said: "I’m delighted Max is joining F2. We saw at the end of 2010 he was right at the front in Formula Palmer Audi, taking a superb win at Croft. I have seen Max develop enormously from his first tentative races in FPA, which was the first time he ever raced, and am thrilled that his ability has developed so strongly. He is certainly ready to make the step up from F3 now, and F2 will provide him with the best possible learning environment through its unique concept of total equality and data sharing. We have had some very talented Russian drivers in F2 over the past two seasons, and I’m confident Max will continue the trend in 2011."

HUFF COMPLETES CHEVROLET TESTING PROGRAMME

The Chevrolet team continued working on the development and testing of the Cruze 1.6 turbo car. Rob Huff completed the last pre-season test, yesterday ay Sywell airfield and today at Silverstone.
So far, the new Cruze has covered over 4,500 kms of tests, equal to 2/3 of total mileage covered during one WTCC race season.
Development work is aimed at optimizing both performance and reliability, in view of meeting the very demanding criteria of the new FIA technical rules, by which only one engine change per car will be allowed in 2011 and none in 2012. Work is also focusing on other areas such as front brakes and tyres that have to stand the heavier constraints resulting from increased power and torque.
Whilst Huff was testing, Yvan Muller and its WTCC champion car were the guests of honour in a special celebration that took place at the Bira Circuit in Pattaya, Thailand and was attended by over 60 media representatives from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and Japan.
Next week Muller, Huff and Alain Menu will attend the press days of the Geneva Motor Show and will be available for the media at the Chevrolet stand.

 

WTCC AND USTCC PLAN TO COOPERATE
WTCC promoter Marcello Lotti and USTCC director Ali Arsham met in the United States to lay the basis for a future cooperation between the two championships.
Lotti was visiting the US to evaluate the possibilities of including for the first time an American event in WTCC’s 2012 calendar. He took the opportunity to meet Arsham and establishing the first contacts with the Nitto US Touring Car Championship.
"The US market is very important for car Manufacturers and this is why we are seriously taking into consideration the idea to hold a WTCC event here. And because one of our priorities is to establish friendly relationships with national touring car series worldwide, the logical step was to contact Ali Arsham, whose championship makes the Super 2000 cars eligible among other classes. We have started working together with the aim to organize a common event for next year," said Lotti.
Ali Arsham commented: "It would be an honour for the USTCC to contribute bringing the World Championship to the United States. Sharing the same event would be a terrific benefit for both championships and I’m looking forward to work together with Marcello Lotti. The next step will be choosing the right location and date for a common race meeting."

Davide Rigon Q&A: “Superleague Formula ist eine der Spitzenrennserien im Motorsport”

2010 war ein großartiges Jahr für den 24 Jahre alten Rennfahrer Davide Rigon, denn er war der erste Fahrer, der den Superleague Titel zweimal gewinnen konnte. Er verdiente durch die zwei Titel insgesamt 1,6 Millionen Euro Preisgeld, als er das R.S.C. Anderlecht-Auto, vor seinem engsten Rivalen Craig Dolby, nach Hause brachte. Wir haben mit ihm über seine 2010er Saison geredet.

1. Was waren für Dich die Highlights der 2010er Superleague Formula Saison?

Für mich gab es dieses Jahr drei bedeutende Highlights. Die besten Momente der Saison waren nach meinem ersten Sieg in Assen und dann nach Portimao, als ich Erster in der Weltmeisterschaft wurde. Der sicherlich größte Moment für mich und mein Team war in Navarro, als wir es geschafft haben die Meisterschaft zu gewinnen.

2. Was war Deine Lieblingsstrecke 2010?

Assen mochte ich wirklich, es hat zu meinem Fahrstil gepasst.

3. Was hast Du während der Winterpause gemacht (a) zur Entspannung und (b) Saisonvorbereitung?

Ich habe weiterhin mit meinem Trainer gearbeitet, um zu versuchen, so gut wie möglich in Form zu sein, gerade weil die Chance kam ein Formel-1-Auto zu fahren. Aber nicht nur dafür, es ist für die Saison 2011 wirklich wichtig, in meiner bestmöglichen Form zu sein.

Die Woche vor Weihnachten war ich mit meiner Freundin und Freunden in den Bergen um Ski zu fahren und ein bisschen zu relaxen. Es war großartig zu entspannen.

4. Wer war 2010 Dein größter Rivale?

Um ehrlich zu sein, war jeder sehr schnell! In den letzten Rennen waren Craig Dolby, Yelmer Buurman und John Martin meine größten Rivalen. Es war ein sehr enges Saisonende und jeder Punkt hat wirklich gezählt.

5. Hast Du eine Nachricht für die Superleague-Formula-Fans?

Natürlich! Weiter an dieser schönen und spektakulären Serie dranzubleiben. Das ist eine der weltweit am höchsten eingestuften Kategorien des Motorsports.

6. Nach dem Gewinn der Meisterschaft 2010, hast du als Ferrari-Simulator-Fahrer unterschrieben. Ist es das, wonach Du für 2011 gesucht hast?

Um ehrlich zu sein, ich habe gelegentlich Zeit in der ich verfügbar bin, um Ferrari zu helfen das Auto zu entwickeln. Hauptsächlich am Simulator. Als Italiener und als Rennfahrer, ist es gut mit Ferrari zu arbeiten.

Dieses Jahr versuche ich in der GP2 Serie zu fahren, aber ich habe immer noch nicht das ganze Budget gefunden.

Joan Perelló pasa por el quirófano

Tras su primera toma de contacto con su nuevo equipo, el Team Matteoni Racing, que tuvo lugar los pasados días 15 y 16 de febrero en el circuito portugués de Estoril, y con el fin de comenzar la temporada 2011 en óptimas condiciones, Joan Perelló pasó por el quirófano de la Policlínica Miramar de Palma de Mallorca, donde el reconocido cirujano Dr. Garcías le retiró la placa de la clavícula izquierda que se fracturó el pasado 25 de marzo de 2010.

Esta pequeña operación se ha realizado lo antes posible con la finalidad de que el joven piloto retome con la mayor brevedad posible su preparación de cara a sus próximos compromisos, el Test Oficial del IRTA que se celebra del 4 al 6 de marzo en el Circuito de Jerez, y la primera prueba del Campeonato del Mundo de 125cc, el G.P. de Qatar que se celebrará el 18, 19 y 20 de marzo en el Circuito de Losail, una preparación que está llevando a cabo en el Centre de Tecnificació de Motociclisme de la Escola Balear de l’Esport.

Las sensaciones del piloto balear con su nueva moto, una Aprilia RSW125GP, fueron muy positivas a pesar que las malas condiciones metereológicas que tuvieron en en circuito de Estoril fueron totalmente adversas, con mucha lluvia, frío y viento. El contacto con Massimo Matteoni, reconocido técnico y propietario del Team Matteoni Racing, y con el resto del equipo también fue muy positivo, integrándose muy bien en él.

Preparando la temporada 2011

La escudería Mallorca New Limit, que dirige Luis Borrás, sigue preparando concienzudamente la temporada 2011, realizando entrenos periódicos en el Circuito Mallorca Renn Arena, en esta ocasión con sus pilotos Ángel Poyatos y Alfonso Alcaide.

Ángel Poyatos participará este año en la copa monomarca Kawasaki Ninja Cup, un certamen que se celebrará a 5 carreras, coincidiendo todas ellas con el Campeonato de España de Velocidad (CEV), en los circuitos de jerez (18/04), Alcañiz (08/05), Montmeló (17/06), Albacete (11/09) y Valencia (13/11).

La copa se corre con la Kawasaki ZX-6R, de mayor potencia y tamaño que la Aprilia RSW125 con la que corrió el año pasado, una moto en la que Ángel se sentirá más cómodo debido a su envergadura.

Por su parte, Alfonso Alcaide seguirá participando con su Yamaha R1 en la categoría Stock-Extreme del CEV, y en su segundo año en ella intentará mejorar sus resultados del 2010. Este campeonato tan exigente cuenta con siete pruebas, las cinco que ya hemos mencionado antes más las de Albacete (10/07) y Jerez (20/11).

Armaan Ebrahim returns for F2 title attack

Indian eyeing championship glory and Williams F1 test drive

21-year-old Indian driver Armaan Ebrahim has his sights set on championship glory after confirming his return to Formula Two in 2011.

Ebrahim enjoyed an impressive campaign in the series in 2010, cementing his reputation as his country’s best young prospect by scoring points in all but one round during the season and finishing tenth in the overall championship. He also the ended the year on a high, qualifying inside the top three for both races at the final round in Valencia and going on to secure his maiden F2 podium.

Armaan scored strongly on several other occasions during the year, notably taking a brace of sixth-place finishes on the streets of Marrakech and top five results at Monza, the home of the Italian Grand Prix, and Zolder.

Since making history as the youngest ever driver to represent his nation in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, Armaan has enjoyed success in a host of single seater championships and is a race winner in Formula BMW Asia and Formula V6 Asia.

Now moving into his third year of F2, Armaan admits he is full of confidence and keen to impress – particularly as his home country India will host its first ever F1 Grand Prix this year. “I’m really happy to be returning to F2 in 2011,” Armaan enthused. “There are some legendary circuits on the calendar this year and my confidence is high following last year, so I can’t wait for the season to begin.

“With Formula One coming to India this year, interest is at an all-time high and if I can do a good job it will hopefully help me for the future. I proved last year that I can be fast, especially in Valencia where I sorted out my qualifying and then scored a podium, so the key will be to repeat that performance straight from the start of 2011 – and repeat it consistently. I’ve improved every year in F2, and I want to keep that going, so victories and the championship are definitely the target!

SUNRED CONFIRM SIX-SEAT LINE UP

SUNRED confirmed their line up in the 2011 WTCC. The Spain-based outfit will start the season with six SEAT León TDI cars under three different banners; the plan is to switch to 1.6L turbo engines as soon as possible.
2009 World Champion Gabriele Tarquini will team with Aleksei Dudukalo at Lukoil-SUNRED.
"I am very pleased that Lukoil gave me the opportunity to continue racing in WTCC and to have Dudukalo as team-mate. I’ll do my best to help him during his maiden season," said Tarquini.
The Russian racer declared: "The WTCC has been a dream for me over the last few years. In 2010 Tarquini’s advises helped me a lot in the SEAT Eurocup. I think that together we can become a strong force in the WTCC this year."
Tiago Monteiro and Michel Nykjær will join Pepe Oriola at SUNRED Engineering.
Monteiro: "I am happy that SEAT and our partners have put their trust on me and I am delighted to race one more year in a championship which is one of the best in the world. I want to profit from the experience I have acquired over the past few years and translate that into my best season."
Nykjær: "I’m looking forward to one more season with SUNRED. I learned a lot from them last year and I’m ready to do my best for claiming that victory I nearly had at Monza and Okayama. I have a full season of experience, so there is no doubt that I’ll be aiming for podium results."
The sixth car will be driven by Fredy Barth for the colours of SEAT Swiss Racing by SUNRED.
Team principal Joan Orús stated: "We are very happy to race six cars once again. It will be an interesting season and I am sure that all our drivers have the necessary skill to succeed. We will fight for both the WTCC Championship and the Yokohama Trophy."


Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro will lead SUNRED once again

VILLA, BENNANI AND FABIANI FORM PROTEAM’S TRIO
Proteam Racing will run three BMW cars in the 2011 WTCC for Javier Villa García, Mehdi Bennani and Fabio Fabiani.
"We will start the season with two 320 TC cars powered by the new 1.6-litre turbo engine and one 2.0-litre normally aspirated 320si for Fabiani," team principal Valmiro Presenzini explained, adding: "We are currently racing against time to finish the two new cars that will be air-freighted to Brazil."
The 23-year old Spaniard Villa is one of the most interesting additions to this year’s WTCC. He switches to touring cars after a successful career in single seaters that included victories in the GP2 championship and F1 test-driver seat at Sauber. "I feel extremely motivated while opening a new chapter of my sporting career. My goal is to build experience and fight for the Yokohama Trophy, but also to show off with the factory teams that are involved in the championship," Villa stated.
Bennani, 27 from Morocco said: "The fact that I’m joining Proteam means that I must claim good results. I am confident, because all the ingredients are there. The team is very professional, I know most of the tracks and Proteam’s BMW is among the best cars in the field."
Italian racer Fabiani completes the team after making occasional appearances in the championship during the two previous seasons.

EIGHT WTCC TEST SESSIONS APPROVED
Eight private test sessions for the 2011 season have been approved by the FIA Touring Car Commission.
The 30-minute private testing have been authorized to permit the teams shaking their cars down after overseas travelling or fixing the set up on those racetracks that are new to the championship or have been reincluded in the calendar after a break, like Porto.
Friday test sessions will be held at Curitiba, Zolder, Marrakech, Porto, Donington Park, Suzuka and Guangdong, while Macau’s test session as usual will take place on Thursday, with free practices and qualifying on Friday.
One additional 90-minute session on Friday morning was also approved for the season’s opener at Curitiba.
According to article 116 of the WTCC Sporting Regulations, the Commission also authorized an official test day on May 12th at Monza.

Night stages for Rally Islas Canarias

Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles will feature night stages when it hosts the
second round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in April.
The event, which is based on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria, will take place
from 14-16 April. To accommodate the night-time runs, organisers have made
several changes to the event itinerary with day one’s action getting underway on
Friday at 13:00hrs local time and not finishing until the early hours of Saturday
morning (16 April).
Crews and their teams will then get a short rest before the rally continues at 07:30hrs on Saturday.
The finish is scheduled for 14:30hrs later that day.
In total the rally will feature 12 special stages with a competitive distance of 190.59 kilometres.
The bulk of the stages on Friday 15 April will focus on the south of the island initially before crews
head to the north of the island for the two night stages, Valleseco and Tejeda, which start at
22:16hrs and 22:49hrs respectively.
Sunday’s stages are based in the north of the island and are the same as those used on Friday
night, albeit run in reverse.

Neuville gets new co-driver for IRC bid
Thierry Neuville has acknowledged the efforts of his former co-driver Nicolas Klinger after
confirming that he would be linking up with fellow Belgian Nicolas Gilsoul for the balance of his
Intercontinental Rally Challenge campaign with Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg this year.
Neuville and Klinger, who co-drove Nicolas Vouilloz to the IRC title in 2008, teamed-up for the
2010 season and scored a best result of third place on the Geko Ypres Rally in June.
However, Neuville has decided to change navigators and has recruited Gilsoul, a 29-year-old
fellow Belgian: “I would like to thank Nicolas Klinger. He is an excellent co-driver and his taking and
reading of pacenotes were always perfect. Through his experience and connections I made a lot of
progress in understanding rallies with him but I no longer need a big brother with me – he is 35 and
I am 22. He lives in southern France, me in Belgium, and we cannot meet each week but with
Nicolas [Gilsoul] we can.”
Neuville and Gilsoul’s programme of rallies will be revealed tomorrow (Friday 18 February). They
will drive a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 run by the Belgian Kronos Racing team.
Settembrini set for more IRC events
Massimiliano Settembrini will tackle three more rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in
2011 following his run to 23rd overall on Rallye Monte-Carlo last month.
Settembrini, a 41-year-old from Italy, will drive a Peugeot 207 Super 2000 for the Munaretto Power
Car Team alongside co-driver and fellow Italian Corrado Bonato.
They will contest Rally Islas Canarais El Corte Ingles (14-16 April), Tour de
Corse (13-15 May) and Rallye Sanremo (22-25 September).
“This is an ambitious challenge for which I wish to improve our very good
overall result on Monte-Carlo,” said Settembrini. “For the upcoming rounds, we
decided to limit competitions to all-asphalt rallies so to get a very good feeling
with our Peugeot. I am really looking forward to taking part on the next IRC
rounds being backed by such a great and professional team.”
Wilks turns to karting to keep sharp
Guy Wilks will prepare for the upcoming asphalt rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge by
racing go-karts near his home in the north east of England.
Wilks, who is driving a Peugeot UK 207 Super 2000 in the IRC this year, has taken over the
running of a go-kart circuit and plans to get behind the wheel of his go-kart on a regular basis
ahead of the next IRC event of the season, the all-asphalt Rally Islas Canarias El Corte Ingles in
April.
Rally drivers frequently use go-karts to hone their reflexes and in order to keep fit. Wilks said: “It’s
great for some Tarmac practice as I already have a Rotax Max go-kart. I can see some serious
practice going on.”
The 30-year-old Wilks also intends to keep fit by riding trials bikes and his Peugeot-built bicycle.
He is currently third in the IRC drivers’ standings following his capture of the final podium spot on
Rallye Monte-Carlo last month.

Un nuevo reto para Juan Poyatos

Tras estar luchando por la victoria en los dos últimos años en la categoría “Trialeros”, consiguiendo el título de Campeón de Baleares en el 2009 y el subcampeonato en el 2010, la remodelación de la especialidad de Trial Clásicas, pasando de tres categorías (Expertos, Trialeros y Amigos) a cuatro (Master, Expertos, Trialeros y Clásicos) obligaba a Juan a elegir entre quedarse en Trialeros o pasar a una categoría superior, la de Expertos. Era una decisión difícil, y aunque la mayoría de sus rivales han preferido quedarse en Trialeros, tomó la decisión de enfrentarse a unos pasos de zona mucho más difíciles, representando para él un nuevo reto.

Este pasado domingo, 13 de febrero, se inauguraba el Campeonato de Baleares de Trial Clásicas en la localidad mallorquina de Sant Joan, con una prueba en la que la dureza de las zonas fue la nota predominante de la jornada. El piloto de la Escudería Mallorca New Limit, mantuvo una linea muy regular, y aunque ocupó la octava plaza final, con un poco más de rodaje podría haberse situado varias posiciones más adelante.

La segunda prueba de esta modalidad, muy atractiva para los amantes de las motos clásicas (Montesa, Bultaco, Fantic, Honda, etc…) tendrá lugar el próximo 12 de marzo en Calviá.
