Superleague Formula Nations Cup gibt Frédéric Vervisch als neuesten Fahrerzugang für 2011 bekannt

Superleague Formula hat heute bestätigt, dass Frédéric Vervisch 2011 wieder an der Meisterschaft teilnimmt, nachdem er abermals beim walisischen Team Atech Reid GP unterschrieben hat. Der 24-jährige Belgier fuhr die zweite Hälfte der Saison 2010 für den Liverpool FC und hat heute seine Rückkehr zum auf acht Runden angesetzten Superleague Formula Nations Cup bestätigt.

Nach einem beeindruckenden ersten Auftritt in der Superleague Formula 2010 wird Vervisch 2011 die Nationalfarben von Luxemburg tragen. Frédéric gilt als starker Meisterschafts-Anwärter.

Vervisch fuhr in der Superleague Formula Saison 2010 beeindruckende 160.000 Euro ein, sicherte sich drei Renn-Podestplätze und einen Super-Final-Sieg. Er ist optimistisch, dass er dem Nations Cup 2011 seinen Stempel aufdrücken kann.

"Ich freue mich wirklich, einen Vertrag mit Atech Reid GP geschlossen zu haben, um dieses Jahr die ganze Saison im Superleague Formula Nations Cup zu fahren. Obwohl ich lediglich bei ausgewählten Runden am Ende der Saison 2010 teilgenommen habe, schafften wir es dennoch in die Top-10 in der Meisterschaft, holten drei Renn-Podeste und einen Super-Final-Sieg. Dieses Jahr werde ich ab Runde eins die Rennen bestreiten können und ich bin mir sicher, es wird noch weitere Podeste zu feiern geben!"

Die Teamchefs Anthony Reid & David Hayle kommentierten ihre Verpflichtung heute Nachmittag:

"Wir erwarten einen positiven Start in den Superleague Formula Nations Cup 2011 und sind wirklich begeistert, Frédéric verpflichtet zu haben. Er ist ein wahres Talent und wir haben es genossen, voriges Jahr mit ihm zu arbeiten", sagte Anthony Reid.

David Hayle ergänzte: "Jeder im Team hat über die Wintermonate wirklich hart gearbeitet, um die Autos rechtzeitig für Runde eins vorzubereiten und wir freuen uns, dass Frédéric in Assen bei uns sein wird."

Neel Jani neuster Zugewinn für den Nationencup der Formel Superleague

Der Schweizer Neel Jani hat gestern bekannt gegeben, dass er 2011 im Nationencup der Formel Superleague starten wird. Jani klettert für Meister Davide Rigon in das Cockpit des belgischen RSC-Anderlecht-Boliden, der von Azerti betreut wird.

”Ich bin wirklich glücklich mit Azerti in der Formel Superleague zu fahren”, sagte Jani. ”Ich bin bereits vergangenes Jahr ein paar Rennen gefahren und der Superleague-Bolide ist ein fantastisches Rennauto. Das Wettbewerbsniveau der Teams und Fahrer ist sehr hoch und ich freue mich schon darauf, dass die Saison in Assen endlich los geht. Ich werde mit Sicherheit versuchen, den Titel zu verteidigen und dem Erfolg von Davide Rigon gerecht zu werden.”

Wim Coekelbergs, Teamchef von Azerti, war über den Vertragsabschluss mit Jani sehr erfreut. ”Es sind tolle Neuigkeiten, dass wir mit Neel zu einer Übereinkunft gelangt sind. Ich habe vollstes Vertrauen in die kommende Saison, denn zusammen mit Yelmer Buurman (Niederlande – PSV Eindhoven) haben wir wieder eine großartige Aufstellung. Ich möchte mich auch bei Neels Manager Nigel Gordon Stewart für seine Zusammenarbeit bedanken.”

Jani gewann 2008 die A1-GP-Meisterschaft und fuhr bereits in der Champ-Car-Serie und in der GP2. Zudem war er Formel-1-Testfahrer für Toro Rosso.

Der Nationencup der Formel Superleague startet am 4. und 5. Juni in Assen in die Saison, bevor im Juli in Zolder gefahren wird. Danach folgen Rennen in Russland, China, Brasilien, dem Mittleren Osten und Neuseeland.

FBM – Crónica Velocidad Llucmajor

El Campeonato de Baleares de Velocidad celebró una nueva prueba, este pasado domingo 29 de mayo, en el Circuito Renn Arena de Llucmajor, organizada por el Motoclub 4 Illes. Se convocaron las categorías Minimotos Promo A, Minimotos Promo B, Minimotos Open 50, Promo 70, Open 80, Scooter y Minimotard Senior, bajo la prueba denominada Trofeo MV Motos.

Minimotos Promo A

Marcos Ruda fue el vencedor de las dos mangas celebradas, llevándose los 50 puntos en juego. La segunda posición fue para Francisco Aguilera, que con 36 puntos superó a Izan Guevara, a pesar de que éste se le adelantara en la  primera carrera. Pero al ocupar la quinta posición en la segunda carrera, se colocó en la tercera plaza definitiva. Iker Fernández, Toni Vidal y Aina Ribas completaron la clasificación.

Minimotos Promo B

Los tres participantes de esta categoría repitieron las posiciones en las dos mangas de carrera, consiguiendo la victoría Joan Uviña, mientras que Víctor Montalvo y Juan Quetglas completaban el podio.

Minimotos Open 50

Javier Medina se impuso en esta ocasión al conseguir la victoria en la primera manga y la segunda posición en la segunda, sumando un total de 45 puntos. Rene Grandpierre, que sumó 16 puntos en la primera manga gracias a una tercera plaza, venció en la segunda carrera, ocupando la segunda plaza final con 41 puntos. Guillermo Mora fue tercero, ocupando la cuarta plaza Javier Salmerón, al no puntuar en la segunda manga.

Open 80

En esta ocasión no se produjeron sorpresas, y Diego Pérez volvió a dominar en ambas mangas, llevándose la victoria final. Paquita Ruiz subió al podio en el segundo escalón, mientras que Onofre Quijada lo completó. Daniel Buades y Enric Bellaescusa completaron la clasificación.

Promo 70

Joan Uviña, que ya se había impuesto en Minimotos Promo b, consiguió también la victoria en promo 70, mientras que Jorge López se hacía con la segunda plaza, con tres puntos más que Vicente Romera, que completó el podio. Xairo Casanova fue cuarto.

Scooter

Óscar Calvo volvió a ser el más rápido en esta categoría, ocupando la segunda posición Óscar Grau, y la tercera José Pedro Mesa. Se produjo un bonito duelo por la cuarta plaza entre Guiem Soler y Carlos González, que empataron a 24 puntos, decidiéndose a favor del primero por el mayor valor de los puntos conseguidos en la segunda carrera. Juliá Busquets, Pedro Luis Moll, jordi Navarro, Josep Miquel Florez, José Velaure y Ángel Moñino se clasificaron a continuación.

Minimotard Senior

Como en otras categorías, los primeros clasificados repitieron posición en ambas mangas, siendo el vencedor Joan Mir, seguido de Víctor José Velez y Miguel Ángel Daviu. Nofre Quijada fue cuarto, seguido de Juan Luis Izquierdo, completando el top-10 Daniel Vadillo, Joaquín López, Víctor Trillo, Alberto Bauzá y Juan Antonio Vidal. Esta categoría fue la más concurrida, llegando a un total de 18 pilotos inscritos. La clasificación se completó por Luis García, David Villena, Santiago Fernández, Toni Soler, Martín de Cos, Marcos Escribano, Alejandro Doyle y Juan Manuel Díaz.

WTCC: NEXT STOP: BUDAPEST, HUNGARY

The fourth race meeting of the season will take place at Budapest’s Hungaroring next week, marking the WTCC’s first visit to Hungary and its 4.4-km circuit that is home to the Formula One Grand Prix since 1986.
However, the Hungaroring had hosted once the FIA European Touring Car in 2001 when Fabrizio Giovanardi (Alfa Romeo) and Roberto Colciago (Audi A4) shared victories in the Super Touring class, while Duncan Huisman (BMW) won the Super Production race.
The World Championship stops in Budapest after Chevrolet and Rob Huff have nearly monopolised the attention in the three previous events. The twisty layout of the Hungarian track is due to suit better to the SEAT and BMW cars than Monza’s long straights.
It is still uncertain whether Gabriele Tarquini and Tiago Monteiro, the fastest drivers in the SEAT patrol, will swap from the current 2.0 TDi to the 1.6-litre turbo engine developed by SUNRED in cooperation with Lehmann Motorentechnik.
At the same time the new BMW 320 TC seems to have the potential to claim its first race win. Tom Coronel and Norbert Michelisz have great expectations to shine in Budapest, especially the young Hungarian who came close to a podium finish in Monza and will race in front of his enthusiastic fans.

NO CHANGES TO THE COMPENSATION WEIGHT
In Budapest there will be non changes to the weights of the different cars compared to Monza.
The compensation weight system based on the lap times set in the three previous events (Brazil, Belgium and Italy) identified the Chevrolet Cruze 1.6T as the reference model and allocated 40 extra kilos to the five cars ran by Chevrolet-RML and bamboo-engineering. Both, the SEAT León TDi and the BMW 320 TC won’t have any weight added, while the Volvo C30 and BMW 320si will benefit from a 20-kg reduction of their minimum weights.
However these weights may change, should SEAT and Volvo cars switch to the 1.6 turbo engine. In this case they would receive the maximum compensation weight as per art. 79 B5) of the Sporting Regulations.

BICYCLE TRAINING FOR YVAN MULLER
Reigning WTCC champion Yvan Muller keeps on training for his future participation in the Le Mans 24-Hours of cycling that will take place on August 20 and 21.
In order to improve his form, Muller took part last Sunday in "La Gianoise" race that brings the competitos to climb on the Swiss mountains for 40 kilometres and up to 1080 metres. He managed to complete the race in 2 hours and 16 minutes, improving his last year’s time. This Sunday he will pedal around the Leman lake for a total of 180 km.

FREDY BARTH WINS GT4 IN SPAIN
Fredy Barth claimed victory in the GT4 class during the second round of the Blancpain Enfudrance Series, last Sunday at Navarra, Spain.
The Swiss driver shared a Lotus Evora car run by the Lechner Racing Team with fellow countrymen Lorenz Frey and Rolf Maritz. After setting pole position, they fought for victory with the Lotus Evora driven by Piscopo and Nigel Mansell’s sons Leo and Greg, and the Nissan 370Z of Buncombe-Tresson-Ward.
Eventually Barth, Frey and Maritz won the race with a 2-lap margin.

HUNGARIAN TOURISM SPONSORS BUDAPEST EVENT
Eurosport Events announced the Hungarian National Tourist Office as the Event Presenting Partner of the WTCC Race of Hungary that is hosted by Budapest’s Hungaroring next weekend.
As title sponsor, the Hungarian National Tourist Office will benefit from a premium visibility on TV, the internet and on-site. This sponsorship agreement is further enhanced by an international multimedia advertising campaign on Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels and on Eurosport’s websites and also includes a global broadcast agreement that will see many exciting sporting events in Hungary aired on Eurosport channels.

Buurman kommt zurück zur Superleague Formula World Cup Action

Der niederländische Fahrer Yelmer Buurman (24 Jahre alt) wird 2011 im niederländischen Wagen, dem PSV Eindhoven Auto, zur Action der Superleague Formula zurückkehren. Das wurde heute in Zolder, Belgien, bekannt gegeben. Buurman fuhr 2008 in der ersten Superleague Formula Serie für PSV und beendete die Saison als Vizemeister.

Buurman konnte mit dem neu lackierten Wagen einige Runden auf der Rennstrecke drehen.

“Es hat sehr viel Spaß gemacht, auf die Strecke hinaus zu fahren und ein paar Runden zu drehen, dabei wurden sicherlich einige Spinnenweben von mir abgeflogen", kommentierte er danach.

“Es ist gut 2011 zurück in der Superleague Formula zu sein, besonders mit diesem großartigen Kalender in diesem Jahr", sagte Buurman. "Der V12-Motor wird für spektakuläre Rennen sorgen und und es wird wirklich gut sein, wieder im Auto zu sitzen. Es ist aufregend, den Superleague Formula Wagen zu fahren und wie wir im letzten Jahr gesehen haben, ist die Meisterschaft hart umkämpft."

“Assen ist ein großartiger Ort, um in die Serie zu starten, es ist immer gut auf heimischen Boden zu fahren, es wäre ein großartiger Ort, um mit einem Sieg zu beginnen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass wir den niederländischen Renn-Fans, die uns am nächsten Wochenende sehen, eine wirklich spektakuläre Show zeigen können."

Ein weiterer Fahrer, der heute seine Rückkehr in die Superleague Formula bekanntgab ist Robert Doornbos. Der Niederländer, der von ERU unterstützt wird, wird einen vorbereiteten Atech Reid fahren, ein niederländisches Auto. Damit ist das Fahrerfeld in der Meisterschaft sehr stark niederländisch geprägt.

Die 2011 Superleague Formula World Cup Saison 2011 beginnt am 4. Und 5. Juni in Assen und macht auch in Belgien, Russland, China, dem Mittleren Osten und Neuseeland in insgesamt acht Runden Station.

Buurman und Doornbos begleiten Craig Dolby, John Martin, Max Wissel und Filip Salaquarda, die ihre Teilnahme in dieser Saison alle bestätigten. Weitere Fahrer werden in den nächsten Tagen bekannt gegeben.

Local heroes set for Prime Yalta Rally

More than 50 crews are set to start next week’s Prime Yalta Rally, round four
of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, including one of Ukraine’s most
famous rallying partnerships.
Oleksandr Saliuk Sr and Evgeniy Chervonenko, the event promoter, will team up in a PROTON
Motorsports Satria Neo Super 2000. They will form one of 15 crews competing in the headline
S2000 category on the asphalt event from 2-4 June.
Saliuk Sr and Chervonenko won the USSR rally crown two decades ago ago and were regarded
as being among the region’s fastest of their era. Although they have stopped competing regularly
since landing that historic title, Saliuk’s son Oleksandr Jr has begun his own promising driving
career while Chervonenko is the driving force behind the Prime Yalta Rally. Saliuk Jr had been due
to drive for PROTON on the Crimea-based event only to suffer a broken arm.
“The original plan was for my son to drive the PROTON, but since his injury I have stepped in to
take his place behind the wheel,” said Saliuk Sr at a press conference in Yalta. “It means a great
deal to me and to Evgeniy to compete together 20 years after we won the title in the USSR. This is
a very important rally in the Ukraine and one which will attract the IRC’s fastest drivers to our
beautiful part of the world. Evgeniy and I are very excited about competing with these drivers and
teams in front of the home crowd.”
In addition to Saliuk Sr’s factory PROTON, the Malaysian manufacturer will enter two further Satria
Neos for PG Andersson and Giandomenico Basso. There will also be four Peugeot 207s, six
Skoda Fabias plus one M-Sport Ford Fiesta competing in the S2000 class. In addition, seven
Subaru Imprezas and nine Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancers will battle for IRC Production Cup honours
while the IRC 2WD Cup has received 20 registrations with Honda and M-Sport among the makes
represented.
Neuville steps up IRC bid with Yalta entry
Thierry Neuville has stepped up his bid to win the Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers’ crown
by confirming his participation on the Prime Yalta Rally.
Neuville shot to equal second in the IRC classification with his stunning maiden victory on Tour de
Corse-E.Leclerc in mid-May.
His original schedule of events did not include the all-asphalt round in Ukraine from 2-4 June but
the 22-year-old will now compete in Yalta at the expense of his planned entry on Barum Czech
Rally Zlin in late August.
“Upon reflection, we felt it was better to send Thierry and Nicolas [Gilsoul, his co-driver] to Ukraine
rather than Czech Republic,” said a team spokesperson. “To all IRC competitors, the Yalta Rally
will be a discovery and we believe Thierry can be particularly competitive there. This will maximise
his chances of winning and also allow him to accumulate more kilometres on asphalt before the
Ypres [Rally, his home event].”

Prime Yalta Rally organisers have announced details of an exciting initiative for their
Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier.

They have made arrangements to provide live streaming over the internet of
the pre-event press conference at 15:00hrs on Thursday 2 June, the end of
day press conference at 19:00hrs on Friday 3 June and the post-event press
conference on Saturday 4 June.

Praise for Al Rajhi from team boss van Dalen
Kronos Racing head Marc van Dalen has praised driver Yazeed Al Rajhi following the Saudi
driver’s run to 14th overall on Tour de Corse-E.Leclerc earlier this month.
Al Rajhi had only tackled two sealed-surface rallies before making his Tour de Corse debut at the
wheel of a Peugeot 207 Super 2000.
“He was very surprised to be four seconds per kilometre slower at first and couldn’t understand
why,” said van Dalen. “But I told him the level in the IRC is very high with lots of experienced
drivers and Tarmac specialists. After that he started to learn slowly and improved on each stage
and realised the best option was to be at the end of the rally.”
Al Rajhi said: “My last time on Tarmac was in 2009 so I was in Corsica to learn. My next IRC rally
will be in Madeira where I hope to improve some more.”
Maurin ups IRC schedule with four more events
Julien Maurin will take part on at least four more rounds of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge in
his M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000.
The Frenchman, 26, bagged his first IRC points on Tour de Corse-E.Leclerc in seventh overall. He
will now contest the Geko Ypres Rally in late June, July’s Sata Rallye Acores, August’s Rali Vinho
Madeira before he chooses between the Mecsek Rallye in September or the Cyprus Rally in early
November.
“I make five or six rounds in the IRC because it is a very nice championship,” said Maurin, who
also entered Rallye Monte-Carlo back in January. “I had a good result in Corsica for my first time
and I am excited about the other rallies.”
Maurin, who is is using the latest specification M-Sport Fiesta, is relishing the prospect of
contesting the gravel-based IRC round in the Azores. He said: “I debut on gravel and it’s my
favourite surface. I made Azores in 2009 and it’s for this I want to go back, it’s beautiful.”

Mando Diao beim DTM-Event im Olympiapark München

Am 16. und 17. Juli startet im Olympiastadion des Münchener Olympiaparks ein Show-Event der Extraklasse. Neben atemberaubender Motorsport-Action auf dem 1,192 km langen Stadionkurs können sich die Fans nun auf ein ganz besonderes musikalisches Highlight freuen: Mando Diao werden samstags mit ihrer Show das Olympiastadion rocken.

Rennen 4 LO Formel Lista Junior

Wüsthoff setzte mit zwei Siegen auf dem Red Bull Ring ein Zeichen. Auch im zweiten Wertungslauf in der schönen Steiermark war der Deutsche nicht zu schlagen.

Im zweiten Rennen verlief der Start ohne grosse Probleme und so musste keiner der LO-Fahrer mit Sanktionen belegt werden. Am besten kam Wüsthoff weg und er bog als erster in die Castrolkurve vor Rodrigues und Amweg. Dahinter folgten Freiburghaus, Kutzera, Kamper, Schwitter und Felix.
Wüsthoff , Rodrigues und Amweg setzten sich von den Verfolgern leicht ab. Einen spannenden Kampf über mehrere Runden lieferten sich die angriffslustige Corinna Kamper mit Freiburghaus und Kutzera. Kamper ging dann auch in der 7. Runde an Freiburghaus in der Castrolkurve vorbei, konnte sich aber hoch bis zur Remuskurve nicht entscheidend absetzen, so dass Kutzea konterte und an Freiburghaus und Kamper vorbeizog. Schwitter, der hinter diesen drei Heiss-Spornen in Lauerstellung lag, verfolgte das geschehen seiner Vorderleute und wartete auf seine Chance. In diesem Pulk gab es in der Folge mehrere Positionswechsel. Bei Kamper traten kurz vor Rennende am Fahrzeug Bremsprobleme auf und die in dieser Gruppe liegenden Fahrer Freiburghaus und Kutzera mussten die Ideallinie verlassen. Schwitter packte seine Chance und zog an diesen drei vorbei. Auch Rodrigues kam beim Kampf um Platz eins gegen Wüsthoff in der A1 Kurve leicht neben die Strecke und verschmutzte seine Reifer derart, dass er in der verbleibenden letzen Runde nicht mehr angreifen konnte. Wüsthoff erkämpfte sich mit einem Vorsprung von 1.4 Sekunden vor Rodrigues und Amweg den 2. Sieg auf dem Red Bull Ring in Zeltweg. Schwitter rehabilitierte sich mit seiner guten Platzierung gegen die vom Vortag zu unrecht ausgesprochene Zeitstrafe mit dem vierten Schlussrang. Kamper, die auf dem Red Bull Ring mit viel Kampfgeist und Herz zur Sache ging, wurde mit Rang 7 hinter Freiburghaus und Kutzera schlecht belohnt. Rang 8 belegte Marcel Felix, der das ganze Wochenende über mit Bremsproblemen zu kämpfen hatte.

PAUL LOUP CHATIN ON THE PODIUM FOR THE SECOND TIME IN PAU

It is always very difficult to get a good repeat performance on a town track like PAU where the smallest error is unforgiving, yet that is what Paul Loup CHATIN, the “EUROFORMULA VOLANT” 2010 pulled off when he stepped up on the podium for the second time this weekend!

Already 3rd in Race 1 on Saturday despite running a high fever, Paul Loup CHATIN started Race 2 on Sunday with the every intention of doing as well if not better. Although starting from 3rd on the grid, the young TECH 1 team driver immediately grabbed second place and did not budge from there until he crossed the line after clearing a sufficient gap on his immediate pursuer. He was left behind though from the mid-race on by his co-driver, Javier TARANCON, who is an experienced driver.

Paul Loup CHATIN explains to it us: “I had good rhythm but I slackened the pace around mid-race and Javier just took off. He has more experience in handling this type of race and it made all the difference. I am, however, very satisfied with my weekend in Pau because I was on the podium twice and I’m properly back in the championship. It’s really encouraging for what’s to come, the next stage is to try to rise to the top step.”

The “EUROFORMULA VOLANT” 2010 is actually 4th in the provisional ranking of the ALPS Championship and still has all his chances for the 2011 title.

Laurent FRADON, Director of EUROFORMULA, is rather optimistic for what is to come: “Paul Loup is decidedly at home in the streets of Pau and had a faultless performance throughout the meeting. His two podiums put him back in the race for the title. He just keeps getting better every time he goes out and he’s ready to win in the next ALPS challenge. The next ALPS Championship meeting will take place on the RED BULL RING in Austria on the 11th and 12th June and Paul Loup CHATIN will want to bring surprise to a track that many drivers will be discovering.

FBM – Los alumnos de las Escuelas de la FBM, consiguen unos magníficos resultados en competiciones nacionales

Este domingo se ha celebrado en Vinarós la primera prueba del certamen nacional "Cuna de Campeones Bankia", con la participación de Juan Mir, Joan Uviña y Jorge López, todos ellos alumnos de la Escuela de Velocidad de la Federació Balear de motociclisme.
Con 38 pilotos inscritos, provenientes de la Comunidad Valenciana, Baleares, Andalucía, Madrid, Cantabria y Cataluña, este certamen destinado al deporte base, tiene como objetivo promocionar a los jóvenes valores del motociclismo.
En la categoría de XL 160 4T Juan Mir ha conseguido, en las dos mangas celebradas, la segunda posición final, con un segundo puesto y con la victoria en la segunda manga. No ha conseguido la primera plaza final al conseguir otro piloto la vuelta rápida por escasas milésimas de segundo, sumando este piloto unos preciosos puntos que le han dado la victoria final en detrimento de Mir.
En Mini 90 4T eran dos los alumnos de la escuela de la FBM, Joan Uviña y Jorge López. El primero de ellos se imponía en las dos carreras, consiguiendo una gran victoria, mientras que López se clasificaba en la quinta plaza en las dos mangas.
Otro de los alumnos de la escuela Vicente Romera, se desplazó al Circuito de Alcarrás, para participar en la primera prueba de la Copa Catalana de Promo Velocidad RACC, consiguiendo una meritoria 4ª plaza en su categoría, al participar en ella más de 40 pilotos.
Estos magníficos resultados están poniendo de manifiesto el trabajo realizado por el equipo de monitores y dirección de la Escuela de Velocidad de la FBM, consiguiendo que los jóvenes valores de nuestras escuelas tengan una gran proyección a nivel nacional.
Tambien se desplazarón a Olván (Barcelona), varios pilotos/alumnos de la Escuela Municipal Off Road de Son Moix, para participar en el Trofeo Nacional de Motocross Alevín, entre los que se encontraban Jesús Ferreres, Roberto Giglioli, Jordi Portell, siendo el mejor clasificado Ferreres.

Rallyesprint Ciutat de Manacor Da-li Gas 2011

La Escudería Ciutat de Manacor celebró el Rallysprint Ciutat de Manacor, que inauguró el calendario regional de rallyes. La prueba contó con 34 equipos de los que seis correspondían a la categoría de Regularidad. José Martorell y David García partían como principales favoritos a la victoria, destacando la baja del vigente campeón Dani Lozano, Sebastián Galmés o Alberto San José. En cuanto a las novedades destacar la reaparición de Lorenzo Andreu a los mandos del Peugeot 306, Juliá Munar ejerciendo de coche 0, o el cambio de Marcos Márquez, ahora con el Wiliams exRiera. En cuanto a debuts mencionar a Juan Pascual y Adolfo Van Delgeren con sendos Renault Clio.

Sin embargo todos los pronósticos se venían abajo y el primer tramo era para el piloto local Guillem Riera, mientras que Carlos Pérez y Lorenzo Andreu se situaban a sus espaldas a solo un segundo. José Martorell tenía problemas de cambios y quedaba bastante retrasado. El segundo tramo decidía el rallye cuando Guillem Riera se salía de la carretera y volcaba. A partir de entonces Carlos Pérez y Mateo Figuera hacían valer la potencia de su Mitsubishi Evo 6 y se anotaban cinco scratch que le otorgaban su primera victoria absoluta de su carrera deportiva, sin que nadie les llegara a inquietar.

Mas disputada resultaba la lucha por la segunda posición por la que pugnaban Antonio David García (Peugeot 206 S-1600), Lorenzo Andreu (Peugeot 306), Rafael Binimelis (Renault Clio Sport) y José Martorell (Citroen Saxo). Sin embargo en la segunda pasada por Sineu-Petra el piloto del Saxo debía abandonar la carrera con el motor roto. David García se anotaba dos segundos scrtach al igual que Lorenzo Andreu, mientras que Rafa Binimelis se anotaba uno además de controlar el grupo N. Finalmente era Lorenzo Andreu quien acababa segundo a 23 segundos del equipo de la Escudería Mallorca Competició. A solo dos segundos, David García se subía al tercer cajón del podium, mientras que a otros dos segundos Rafa Binimelis era cuarto a pesar de sufrir una avería cerca de la meta del último tramo y poder llegar a duras penas al parque cerrado.

Quinto de la general y segundo de grupo N era Jaime Riera que demostró una perfecta adaptación a su nueva montura y que tuvo que pelear duro con José Miguel Álvarez que se situaba a continuación a solo cinco segundos. Oscar Fernández era séptimo de la general, sin que nadie llegara a inquietarle puesto que Sión Verger estaba a casi un minuto tras tener algunos problemas de estabilidad en los primeros tramos. Iván Colom, noveno scratch, se adjudicaba el grupo RI y le ganaba la partida a Marcos Márquez por escasos segundos. En cuanto al grupo H destacar el abandono por avería de Fernando Dameto tras marcar unos cronos que le situaban en los puestos de cabeza. Peor suerte tenía José Miguel Munar que en su segunda carrera se salía de la carretera y también volcaba su Peugeot 106.

En la categoría de Regularidad la victoria correspondía al MG de Gené-Haverland que se imponía a los Porsche de Garau-Caballero y Castañer-Castañer, siendo cuartos Verger-Verger.

Marco Wittmann triumphiert beim Grand Prix de Pau

Marco Wittmann (Signature) feierte beim Grand Prix de Pau, der gleichzeitig auch als dritter Lauf der vor der Saison neu ins Leben gerufenen FIA Formula 3 International Trophy gewertet wurde, einen deutlichen Start-Ziel-Sieg. Er ist der erste Deutsche seit Jörg Müller 1996, der den traditionellen Grand Prix de Pau für sich entscheiden konnte. Auf dem 2,76 Kilometer kurzen Stadtkurs am Fuße der Pyrenäen kämpften die beiden Spanier Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam) und Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam) um den zweiten Rang, der knapp an Merhi ging. Der 20-Jährige bleibt damit Tabellenführer der FIA Formula 3 International Trophy.
Marco Wittmann gewann den Start von der Pole-Position aus und konnte sich von Beginn an einen Vorsprung aufbauen. Der Deutsche fuhr einem ungefährdeten Start-Ziel-Sieg entgegen. Hinter ihm stritten die beiden Spanier Roberto Merhi und Daniel Juncadella um den zweiten Platz. Letztendlich gab der bessere Start von Merhi den Ausschlag dafür, dass er die Zielflagge knapp vor seinem Landsmann sah. Verfolger Daniel Abt (Signature) konnte in den Schlussrunden fast noch zum spanischen Duo aufschließen. Der Deutsche beendete das Rennen als Vierter vor Carlos Muñoz (Signature).
Marco Wittmann (Signature): „Was für ein Wochenende! Ich habe den Grand Prix de Pau gewonnen, bin die schnellste Rennrunde gefahren und hatte die Pole-Position – besser kann es nicht sein. Ich kann es kaum in Worte fassen, dass wir dieses traditionelle Rennen im Heimatland meines Teams Signature gewonnen haben.“
Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam): „Mein Start war wirklich gut und ich konnte Daniel in der ersten Kurve überholen. In der zweiten Rennhälfte hatte ich viele Probleme mit abbauenden Reifen. Ich hatte kaum noch Grip und musste mich gegen Daniel verteidigen. Aber ich wusste: Wenn ich keinen Fehler mache, dann werde ich den zweiten Platz behalten.“
Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam): „Nachdem ich nach dem Start Dritter war, habe ich mich entschieden, erst einmal meine Reifen zu schonen. Deshalb waren sie am Ende des Rennens auch noch relativ gut. Ich war schneller als Roberto und habe versucht, ihn in einen Fehler zu treiben, aber er machte keinen. “

Rennen 3 LO Formel Lista Junior

Wüsthoff gewann nach turbulentem Rennen den dritten Wertungslauf zur LO formel lista junior Meisterschaft 2011. Nach Startfreigabe bestrafte die Jury den aus der Pole gestarteten Freiburghaus mit einer Drive-Trough Penalty.

Bei bedecktem Himmel wurde am Red Bull Ring der erste Rennlauf zur Doppelveranstaltung gestartet. Eine unheimliche Nervosität herrschte unter den Fahrern und so musste die Rennleitung in der Folge fünf Frühstarts untersuchen.
Wüsthoff erwischte eine perfekte erste Runde und so kam er als Führender zum ersten Mal bei Start und Ziel vorbei. Hinter ihm lag Freiburghaus, Rodrigues und Amweg. Auch Rodrigues hatte eine gute Performance mit seinem Monoposto und es gelang ihm, schon in der zweiten Runde an Freiburghaus vorbei zu ziehen. Die Rennleitung hatte derweil einige Durchfahrts-Strafen ausgesprochen und eine Runde später bog Freiburghaus in die Boxengasse ein. Nach seiner Boxendurchfahrt reihte er sich erneut im Feld ein, konnte aber nicht mehr ins Geschehen eingreifen. Weiter wurden auch Rodrigues und Kamper mit einer Strafe belegt, doch diese beiden Fahrer kamen auf Rang 3 und 4 ins Feld zurück. Durch diese Aktionen erhielt der Rennverlauf ein völlig neues Gesicht und so lag nun Kutzera auf Rang 2, Rodrigues auf 3 und Amweg auf 4. Schwitter, der eigentlich auf Rang 4 lag und ein ausgezeichnetes Rennen fuhr, wurden fälschlicherweise von der Rennleitung noch 15 Sekunden Zeitstrafe auferlegt und so beendete er das Rennen auf Rang 6, unmittelbar hinter Corinna Kamper. Marcel Felix, dessen Rennabstimmung am Fahrzeug nicht ganz optimal war, wurde am Schluss des Rennens hinter Freiburghaus noch als Achter gewertet. Vorne weg konnte Wüsthoff ohne Druck seinen ersten Sieg hier auf dem Red Bull Ring nach Hause fahren.

ROSSETTI-CHIARCOSSI (ABARTH GRANDE PUNTO) WIN RALLY CROATIA

Final

Italians Luca Rossetti and Matteo Chiarcossi (Abarth Grande Punto) are the winners of the 38th Rally Croatia, second round of the FIA European Rally Championship. The reigning European champions led fellow countrymen Luca Betti and Maurizio Barone (Peugeot 207) and Polish Maciej Oleksowicz – Andrzej Obrebowski (Ford). With this result the Italian crew, which had also won the opening round of the series, scores full points and leads the continental ranking. Slovenian Rok Turk (Peugeot 207 R3T) won the two-wheel drive cars ranking and take the lead of the specific standings. Winners of Gr R and Gr.N were respectively Maciej Rzeznik – Przemyslaw Mazur (Subaru Impreza) and Mauro Patrucco – Chiara Bioletti (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX).

In the third and final day of competition Luca Rossetti further increased his lead by winning  almost all the special stages (the final total is of 10 stage wins against 3 for Betti and one each for Oleksowicz and Szymon Ruta with the Peugeot 207). A great fight for third position between Oleksowicz and Longhi (Skoda). The Polish driver managed to get past his rival before the latter was forced to retire because of the consequences of going off the road on the penultimate special stage, held in the rain.

Once again it is worth to mention the performances, often in the Top 5, of Croatian Juraj Sebali (Mitsubishi), although he is far behind in the overall standings because of the nearly 20′ lost in the first two days of competition. Another excellent race by Niko Pulic (Abarth Grande Punto), the best of the local drivers, who finished seventh overall.EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP RANKING:
