24 Hours of happiness for some, of misfortune for others…

All the Le Mans Series Team would like to congratulate the 2009 24 Hours of Le Mans participants, in particular the 38 teams who, thanks to their commitment in the series, share their love of Endurance throughout Europe, during the whole season. All gave the best of themselves to finish one of the most difficult races in the world. Some suffered disappointments, but under the tough law of sport: one man’s joy is another man’s sorrow!

Congratulations to all for their courage; the next meeting will be at the Portimao circuit, on August 1 and 2, for a night race which will bring back sweet memories to some!

Peugeot roars in the Belgian hills

With its mixture of long straights, fast corners and varying gradients, the Spa-Francorchamps circuit ranks as one of the most technically challenging circuits visited by the Le Mans Series but is a firm favorite with drivers, teams and fans alike.

Team Peugeot Total took up the challenge of this historic track and claimed first place overall, while Team Essex did the same in the LMP2 class. The Luc Alphand Aventures Corvette scored its first victory of the season in the GT1 class and Team Felbermayr-Proton ruled in the GT2 class.

Over 100 drivers and about 30,000 spectators could enjoy a fine, sunny race which was disrupted by five safety-car periods. Indeed, many cars went off or had contact, but, on the whole, professional and gentlemen drivers were able to share the track in good spirit.

Le Mans Series: Bugatti tests: day 1

Quality trumps quantity! This is certainly the case at today’s test session on the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans, a place so steeped in history that you can almost taste it in the air. Although only a few teams are participating, there has been no shortage of excitement on the track throughout the three classes.

Team Pescarolo Sport enjoyed running at their home track whereas Team Essex demonstrated very promising signs of reliability and high speed and Patrick Dempsey debuted in the very competitive GT2 class.

Although a bright sunshine, a few red flags due to track cleaning-off have slightly thwarted the teams‘ work schedules.
