Miguel Socías competirá este fin de semana en el nuevo circuito de Albaida

Hay que ser fuertes y estar delante

Después del duro varapalo sufrido en la anterior carrera en el Circuito de Chicharra Karts en Villena, prueba que puntuaba para la Copa Vallés Primoti y el Campeonato de Karting de la Región de Murcia, donde Miguel Socías no pudo tomar parte al sufrir una neumonía que le obligaba a ingresar en el hospital el día anterior a la prueba, ahora el balear regresa de nuevo a la competición con ilusiones renovadas.

En esta ocasión, y con motivo del tercer meeting del Campeonato de Karting de la Comunidad Valenciana el certamen visita por primera vez el nuevo complejo del motor de Albaida, un trazado por el que ya han pasado algunos de los mejores pilotos estatales del momento como Álvaro Barba, Campeón de Europa 2010 de GT OPEN con Ferrari y la piloto de Fórmula 3000 Carmen Jordá quienes ya han rodado sobre la pista de La Vega (Albaida), elogiando el trazado por su rapidez y seguridad así como el excelente grip del asfalto.

El balear no ha tenido oportunidad de entrenar en la pista valenciana, no obstante llega a esta cita con muchas ganas de hacerlo bien y de intentar estar en los puestos de cabeza. Pocos datos tiene sobre el trazado que cuenta con una cuerda de 800 metros, con una anchura media de 8, y con dos grandes rectas que hacen de él un circuito muy rápido.

Inmerso en plenas vacaciones veraniegas y a punto de disputar la tercera cita del valenciano de karting, Miguel Socías nos comentaba como ve la carrera:

"Sobre el papel el circuito se ve muy rápido y da la sensación que será fácil adelantar en carrera si logramos una buena puesta a punto del kart, gracias a las dos grandes rectas. Es un trazado nuevo para todos con muy buen agarre, y aunque varios equipos ya han rodado en él y ya tienen referencias, espero que nosotros podamos estar a la altura de las circunstancias tras los entrenamientos libres."

"En cuanto a mi estado físico he de decir que estoy casi al 100% y espero dar mucha guerra en este meeting, ganas no faltan, y más, tras el "pinchazo" sufrido en Villena." Apuntaba el mallorquín en la jornada previa a la carrera.

Superleague Formula mit einem weiteren Champion!

Mikhail Aleshin tritt als erster Russe in der Superleague Formula an. Er startet beim Belgien GP 2011 für das neue russische Team.

Der 24-jährige wurde in Moskau geboren und gewann im letzten Jahr in der Formula Renault 3,5 als erster Russe eine internationale Formelrennserie. Schon 2009 wurde er Zweiter in der FIA Formel 2 Meisterschaft. Zudem hat er bereits für das Renault F1 Team getestet.

“Es ist klasse, in der Superleague Formula für Russland anzutreten”, sagte Aleshin. „Ich habe die Rennen im Fernsehen verfolgt und mir wurde gesagt, dass die Autos super zu fahren sind. Ich kenne einige der Piloten und darunter sind einige sehr gute Racer. Ich bin überzeugt, dass ich auf Anhieb schnell sein werde und hoffe, dass ich von Anfang an vorne mitfahren kann.“

Das russische Auto mit der Startnummer 17 wird von AtechReidGP aus Cardiff eingesetzt.

“Mikhail ist eine tolle Verstärkung für AtechReidGP und die Superleague Formula”, sagte Teammanager Anthony Reid. „Jeder der mit einem Fahrer vom Kaliber Daniel Ricciardos mithalten und ihn sogar schlagen kann, ist ein klasse Rennfahrer. Es ist toll, dass die Meisterschaft Fahrer wie Mikhail anzieht, die jung, hungrig, schnell und ehrgeizig sind.“

Der nächste Grand Prix der Superleague Formula Saison 2011 findet am 16. und 17. Juli im belgischen Zolder statt.

Exciting entry for Sata Rallye Acores

More than 40 crews will contest Sata Rallye Acores, round six of the
Intercontinental Rally Challenge, from 14-16 July.
Eight Super 2000 cars will be in action with Bryan Bouffier topping
the entry in his Peugeot France-backed 207. The Rallye Monte-Carlo
winner forms part of the three-strong Peugeot attack on the all-gravel
event, which also includes Peugeot UK’s Guy Wilks and Peugeot
Sport Portugal’s Bruno Magalahes, who claimed a dramatic
final-stage victory on the rally in 2010.
Defending IRC champion Juho Hanninen is one of four SKODA Fabia S2000
drivers competing on the Atlantic archipelago. His factory SKODA
Motorsport team-mate Jan Kopecky will also be in taking part at the
wheel of another Fabia S2000, as will SKODA UK Motorsport’s
Andreas Mikkelsen and SKODA Sweden’s Patrik Sandell. Frenchman
Julien Maurin will pilot the sole M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000 on the
entry.
Toshi Arai and Fumio Nutahara head the Yokohama-supported Subaru
challenge in a brace of R4-specification Imprezas. As well as aiming
to claim their first IRC points of the season, the Japanese drivers
will be favourites for the IRC Production Cup laurels, where Azores
resident Ricardo Moura is set to provide strong opposition in his
Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX.
The IRC 2WD Cup has attracted an impressive entry with series’
leader Jean-Michel Raoux and defending class champion Harry Hunt among
the contenders for victory. A copy of the full entry list is available

Italian victory boosts Mikkelsen for Azores
Andreas Mikkelsen’s SKODA UK Motorsport team boss Pierfrancesco
Zanchi reckons his driver’s victory on Rally di San Marino last
weekend will hand him a major boost as he prepares to tackle Sata
Rallye Acores for a second time next week.
Mikkelsen, who was competing on the Italian Gravel Trophy round in a
SKODA Rally Team Italia Fabia Super 2000, similar to the one he uses
in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, finished fourth in the Azores
last season in an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000.
“We needed to win in San Marino and that’s exactly what
we did,” said Zanchi. “We are pleased to be leading the
[Italian Gravel] championship and are very confident ahead of Sata
Rallye Acores.”
Of his victory on the gravel stages in and around San Marino,
Mikkelsen said: “The strategy was to take a lead and maintain it
carefully. We watched our competitors and maintained a comfortable
lead without pushing so hard that we made errors.”
Mikkelsen, from Norway, is seventh in the IRC drivers’
standings after five rounds. 
Peugeot UK keen on more IRC action in 2012
Peugeot UK could continue its participation in the Intercontinental
Rally Challenge for a fourth season in 2012.
The importer began its involvement in the series in 2009 when it
backed Kris Meeke’s IRC title triumph in a 207 Super 2000 run by
the Belgian Kronos Racing operation.
Meeke was third in 2010 before he handed over the reins to countryman
Guy Wilks, who is embarking on a full programme of IRC events this
season alongside co-driver Phil Pugh.
A spokesperson for Peugeot UK said: “Nothing is decided and
it’s really far too early to be making any decisions because
it’s something we tend to do when we have our budget meetings in
September. But we’re really pleased with the IRC programme. For
sure we’d like to be winning but we also have to be realistic
because it’s a very competitive championship. The dealer network
interest [in the UK] has been brilliant, much more so than when we
started in 2009. They’re really behind the project and Peugeot
Sport is too. We like the IRC and we hope to be here next year."
Wilks is sixth in the IRC drivers’ table following his run to
fifth on last month’s GEKO Ypres Rally. The 30-year-old’s
best result this season was his third place on Rallye Monte-Carlo in
January.
Mecsek Rallye plans take shape
The Mecsek Rallye, which joins the Intercontinental Rally Challenge
schedule for the first time this season, is set to be another
successful addition to the all-action series.
That’s the view of IRC Motorsport Development Manager
Jean-Pierre Nicolas and IRC General Co-ordinator Xavier Gavory, who
visited the event’s base in the Hungarian city of Pecs last
month to meet officials from the rally and visit the stages and
various facilities.
“The stages are incredible and a good mixture of layouts and
surfaces,” said Nicolas, a former international-level rally
driver. “In some places they are like the old Nurburgring race
circuit in Germany, but in other places quite wide. They will be a
good challenge for the drivers.”
Gavory added: “The rally was assessed last year and the
organisers did a very good job then. They will benefit from the
infrastructure put in place when Pecs became European Capital of
Culture in 2010. We saw a number of impressive sites including a new
service park area.”
The 45th running of the Mecsek Rallye takes place from 9-11

Die DTM im Olympiastadion – ein sportliches Highlight

München. Am 16. Juli startet im Olympiastadion des Münchener Olympiaparks ein DTM-Event der ganz besonderen Art: Auf einer eigens für diese Zwei-Tages-Veranstaltung asphaltierten, 1.192 Meter langen Strecke werden sich die DTM-Piloten heiße Duelle liefern. Unter dem Zeltdach des Olympiastadions können die Gäste die Faszination DTM hautnah in einer ganz besonderen Atmosphäre erleben. Ein abwechslungsreiches Rahmenprogramm mit Comedy und Live-Konzerten machen das DTM-Event zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis für die ganze Familie. Im Fokus der Fans wird an beiden Veranstaltungstagen wie auch an jedem anderen Rennwochenende das sportliche Programm der DTM sein.
Sportlicher Ablauf der DTM
Die Veranstaltung in München bietet den Besuchern zwei Tage lang Motorsport vom Feinsten. Die Obhut für den sportlichen Ablauf wird – analog der regulären Wertungsläufe – der DMSB übernehmen. Die Duelle auf der Strecke werden von den Audi- und Mercedes-Benz-Piloten in dem jeweiligen DTM-Einsatzfahrzeug ausgetragen.
Der Samstag – markeninternes Duell bis zum Tagesduell der Besten
Am Samstag treten die DTM-Fahrer zunächst in einen markeninternen Wettstreit, um den besten Audi- und Mercedes-Benz-Piloten zu ermitteln und um die Paarungen für die Finalläufe am Sonntag festzulegen. Bei acht markeninternen Paarungen und zwei Einzelfahrten werden in drei Runden die schnellsten 16 Fahrer ermittelt. Bei diesem Prolog zählt zunächst nur die gefahrene Zeit, nicht das Ergebnis des Duells. Die schnellsten acht Fahrer jedes Herstellers erreichen das Achtelfinale. Im Achtel-, Viertel- und Halbfinale wird im markeninternen K.-o.-System der schnellste Audi- und Mercedes-Benz-Pilot ermittelt. Diese tragen dann das Duell um den Tagessieg aus. Die Renndistanz des Tagesfinales beträgt fünf Runden, wobei in der dritten Runde ein Pflichtboxenstopp durchgeführt werden muss.
Der Sonntag – markenunabhängige Finalrunde bis zum Gesamtsieg
Am Sonntag heißt es dann: Audi gegen Mercedes-Benz. Anhand der Platzierung vom Samstag werden die Paarungen für die Läufe am Sonntag festgelegt. Die schnellsten 16 Fahrer ermitteln in mehreren Sessions den Gesamtsieger. Zunächst tritt der Audi-Pilot mit der besten Zeit des Vortages gegen den Mercedes-Benz-Piloten mit der schlechtesten Zeit des Vortages an und umgekehrt. Bei jeder Begegnung muss ein Pflichtboxenstopp durchgeführt werden. Da jeder Lauf ein Ausscheidungsrennen ist, werden am Ende des Tages die beiden besten Fahrer im Finale den Sieger unter sich ausmachen.

EL “MEGARAMP FREESTYLE” SE PRESENTA EN SOCIEDAD

Esta mañana ha tenido lugar la presentación oficial del Megaramp Freestyle 2011 en las instalaciones del Palma Arena con la presencia de los pilotos Dany Torres y Maikel Melero (Motos) y Bienve Aguado (Bicis).
Ha presidido el acto el nuevo Director General d’Esports del Govern Balear D. Francisco Javier Morente, junto con el Director General d’Esports del Consell de Mallorca D. Juan A. Ramonell y el Director del IME D. Damiá Vich. Junto a ellos han estado el Sr. Toni Gelabert, gerente de 100 Emocions y D. José Yuste, Presidente de la Federación Balear de Motociclismo.
En un ambiente serio al principio pero muy divertido a medida que avanzaba la rueda de prensa, el Sr. Morente ha destacado que “además de venir a competir en un evento tan importante, me gusta saber que pilotos del nivel de Dany Torres lleva una semana conociendo Mallorca, un lugar que le encanta”. Por su parte, el Sr. Ramonell ha destacado “El buen hacer de 100 Emocions y lo importante que es llevar ya siete ediciones de un evento que gusta mucho a la gente”, mientras que Damiá Vich ha querido destacar sobre todo “La gran labor que está llevando a cabo 100 Emocions con sus campeonatos para la cantera en colaboración con la Federación Balear de Motociclismo y su escuela de Son Moix”.

MNL en el CEV (Albacete)

El Circuito de La Torrecica, en Albacete, albergará la cuarta prueba del Campeonato de España de Motociclismo, con la participación de la escudería balear Mallorca New Limit. En esta ocasión se desplazarán al circuito manchego el director de la escudería Luis Borrás y dos mecánicos, para dar soporte a Alfonso Ho, que participará en la siempre difícil categoría de Stock-Extrem. Ángel Poyatos no viajará a Albacete ya que no se ha convocado la Copa Kawasaki Ninja Cup, que es donde participa el joven piloto de Palma.

Este pasado fin de semana la MNL participó en una prueba del Castellano-Manchego de Velocidad con Alfonso en este mismo circuito, con el fin de llegar a la prueba nacional con una mejor puesta a punto en su Yamaha R1. Tras clasificar en la segunda posición, fue penalizado por un ride-through por adelantarse ligeramente en la salida, y tras pasar por el pit-line y reincorporarse a la pista, realizó una buena remontada que lo llevó a la séptima plaza. El resultado no es lo más importante, sino haber experimentado en carrera la puesta a punto de la moto, que será la base con la que trabajará el equipo técnico en la prueba del CEV.

La prueba albaceteña marca el ecuador del campeonato, en el que Alfonso se haya situado en la 13ª posición de la general con 12 puntos, mientras que en la clasificación de “Privados” esta situado en una maritoria cuarta plaza (de 29 pilotos), empatado a 33 puntos con el tercer clasificado.
