III Rallye Ramblas Huercal-Overa 2008
COMUNICADO PREVIO
El Rallye Ramblas Huercal-Overa (Baja Almanzora) es la primera prueba puntuable
del Campeonato de España de Rallyes Todo Terreno que se va a celebrar en
Almería entre los días 29 de Febrero y 2 de Marzo.
La inscripción para esta carrera es impresionante. Un total de 65 vehículos y 7
camiones recorrerán los 500 kilómetros que la organización junto a Salvador
Servia, piloto con catorce participaciones en el Dakar, han preparado por las
diferentes ramblas y pistas de Huercal-Overa.
Por primera vez un equipo Balear participa en el Nacional de Todo Terreno. David
Codina, piloto del equipo 4x4Mallorca, será el encargado de pilotar el Mitsubishi
Montero EVOcup T1 asistido en carrera por Plaza Competición.
El objetivo del equipo, este primer año, es adaptarse al campeonato y lograr
terminar todas las pruebas en las tomen la salida.
El Sábado se celebra la SS1, una etapa Súper Especial de 5 Km. que decidirá el
orden de salida de la SS2, que se realiza por la tarde. La SS2 es un tramo selectivo
de 200 Km. lineales. El domingo por la mañana se celebra el sector selectivo SS3
de 300 Km.
Para David: “Esta carrera va a ser muy dura, el pasado año solo lograron terminar
19 vehiculos de los 50 que tomaron la salida. La regularidad a lo largo del fin de
semana va a ser fundamental para poder lograr nuestro objetivo. Tanto Ivan como
yo tenemos mucha ilusion puesta en esta cita y despues de los entrenamientos
previos hemos buscado un buen ritmo de carrera para lograr terminar el Rallye,
esperemos que la mecanica no nos de muchos problemas. Tengo muchas ganas
de inciar este campeonato de una vez y olvidarnos por un fin de semana de
buscar patrocinadores para el resto del año. De momento solo contamos con
ayuda de empresas privadas a las que agradecemos su plena confianza.”

WTCC-Saisonstart in Brasilien.

Auf dem „Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba“ startet die FIA World Touring Car Championship am kommenden Wochenende in die neue Saison.

Die beiden Läufe in Brasilien sind der Auftakt für die mit 24 Rennen längste Tourenwagen-WM aller Zeiten. BMW befindet sich 2008 einmal mehr in der Rolle des Gejagten. Andy Priaulx (GB) vom BMW Team UK möchte nach drei WM-Titeln in Folge auch in diesem Jahr ganz oben stehen, BMW peilt zum vierten Mal hintereinander den Spitzenplatz bei den Herstellern an.
Um dieses Ziel zu erreichen, schickt der Münchener Automobilhersteller neben dem BMW Team UK und Titelverteidiger Priaulx zwei weitere erstklassig besetzte Länderteams ins Rennen. Augusto Farfus (BR) und Jörg Müller (DE) vertreten wie 2007 die Farben vom BMW Team Germany.
Das BMW Team Italy-Spain tritt mit Alessandro Zanardi (IT) und Félix Porteiro (ES) an. Alle fünf Piloten haben in der WTCC bereits ihre Siegfähigkeit unter Beweis gestellt – und sind hoch motiviert, in Curitiba wieder einen glänzenden Saisonstart zu erleben. Im Vorjahr gingen dort alle Podestplätze an Fahrer der BMW Länderteams.

In der Formel 3 Euro Serie ist der Tiroler Rennstall HBR Motorsport voraussichtlich mit drei Fahrern am Start. DSC_5093.JPG2 Während neben Basil Shaaban aus dem Libanon, der schon in der vergangenen Saison mit an Bord war, der Spanier Daniel Campos-Hull für 2008 bestätigt ist, wird der dritte Fahrer zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt bekannt gegeben.

Das Tiroler Team HBR Motorsport setzt weiterhin auf Basil Shaaban (27). In seinem zweiten Jahr gilt es für den Libanesen konstant zu Punkten. Für Daniel Campos-Hull (18), der im vergangenen Jahr bereits in der Formel BMW ADAC Meisterschaft erfolgreich unterwegs war und den Vize-Meister-Titel errang, ist die Zielsetzung 2008 der Gewinn in der Rookie-Wertung.

Es werden beide jeweils in einem Dallara Mercedes versuchen, auch in der härtesten Formel-3-Serie der Welt gute Ergebnisse zu erzielen. „Wir haben eine gute Mischung aus Erfahrung und Talent in unserem Fahrerkreis. Für Basil Shaaban geht es vor allem darum, mit Platzierungen unter den 10 seine Leistungsentwicklung zu verdeutlichen. Daniel Campos-Hull – der amtierende Vize-Meister der Formel BMW Meisterschaft hat sich für den Aufstieg in die Formel 3 Euro Serie für unser Team HBR Motorsport entschieden. Beide haben das Potenzial in die Punkteränge zu kommen“, ist Teammanager Sigi Müller überzeugt.

Peugeot 908 HDi FAP

Zur Vorbereitung auf die Sportwagen-Saison 2008 in der europäischen Le Mans Series und auf den Saisonhöhepunkt „24 Stunden von Le Mans“ nahm PEUGEOT mit dem Diesel-Rennwagen 908 HDi FAP Ende Januar an den dreitägigen Testfahrten der American Le Mans Series (ALMS) in Sebring (Florida) teil. Für das Werksteam von PEUGEOT hat sich der Ausflug in die USA gelohnt: Gegen die etablierte Konkurrenz von Audi, Porsche und Acura/Honda erzielte Werksfahrer Stéphane Sarrazin im 908 HDi FAP mit 1.42,801 Minuten eine neue Rundenbestzeit. Er unterbot die im Vorjahr beim Qualifying für das 12-Stunden-Rennen von Audi aufgestellte schnellste Runde um über zwei Sekunden.

Stéphane Sarrazin und Pedro Lamy, die Vorjahres-Gesamtsieger der europäischen Le Mans Series, teilten sich die Testarbeit mit Nicolas Minassian. Insgesamt spulte das Trio an den drei Tagen 233 Runden oder umgerechnet 1.386 Kilometer im PEUGEOT 908 HDi FAP ab. Die 5,95 Kilometer lange Strecke von Sebring gilt wegen ihres welligen Betonbelages als harte Prüfung für Reifen und Mechanik. Trotz der außergewöhnlichen Belastungen traten bei dem 515 kW (700 PS) starken 12-Zylinder-Dieselsportwagen am ersten Tag keine nennenswerten Probleme auf.

Nach der gelungenen Generalprobe in Florida freuen sich die Mitarbeiter von PEUGEOT SPORT unter ihrem Technischem Direktor Bruno Famin nun auf die europäische Le Mans Serie 2008. Sie beginnt am 6. April mit dem 1000-Kilometer-Rennen in Barcelona. Das berühmte 24-Stunden-Rennen von Le Mans findet am 15. Juni statt.

KARTING – CAMPEONATO DE BALEARES

Con sus recién cumplidos 13 años, acometía una nueva temporada de karting 2.007, siendo Campeón en el pasado año 2.006 en Baleares en la categoría Junior.

El proyecto para éste año era coger la mayor experiencia en carreras y participar en dos campeonatos, de los cuales se mediría con los mismos rivales:

“ La primera cita del año se daba en el Trofeo Go-kart en Magalluf, con un total de 24 inscritos entre las diferentes categorías. En su categoría, la junior; Albert realizaba la pole position y ganaba las dos mangas de carrera”.

“ La segunda cita era de nuevo en el trazado de Magalluf, con un total de 29 pilotos inscritos, en la categoría junior, Albert no perdona y vuelve a realizar la pole y victorias en ambas mangas de carrera”.

“ La siguiente carrera fue la primera del campeonato de Baleares, disputada en el circuito Renn Arena de Llucmajor. En la categoría más disputada, la junior, Albert consigue la pole y en la primera manga se disputan entre tres pilotos la primera posición que al final consigue el propio Albert, consiguiendo el tercer puesto en la manga final.

 “ La tercera carrera del Trofeo Go-kart, confirmó la supremacía de Albert que marcaba la primera posición en las clasificatorias y ganaba las siguientes dos mangas”.

“ Ya en el mes de Mayo el campeonato balear, se traslada a la isla de Menorca, en esta carrera, Albert vuelve a conseguir la primera posición en la parrilla de salida, pero con algo de mala suerte por un calentamiento excesivo de los neumáticos (por una presión equivocada). Terminaba segundo en la final”.

“ Llega la cuarta cita del Trofeo Go-kart en Magalluf y de nuevo Albert en la categoría junior arrasa con la pole y ganando la prefinal y final”.

“ Le tocaba el turno a la quinta carrera del Trofeo Go-kart, en la categoría junior volvía a tener el color indiscutible de Albert al anotarse la pole, prefinal y final.

“ En la tercera carrera puntuable para el campeonato balear, Albert estrenaba nuevo chasis, pero la falta de tiempo en ponerlo a punto y la sorpresa después de la carrera que el material era defectuoso, Albert sólo pudo ser tercero, perdiendo muchas opciones de poder revalidar su título de Campeón de Baleares, aunque sin desanimarse, entrenando durante todo el verano para intentar terminar los campeonatos lo más arriba posible”.

“ Después del parón en carreras durante el verano, vuelve el campeonato balear con la cuarta prueba, con un total de 24 pilotos. Albert consiguió el segundo puesto final, se divirtió de lo grande teniendo dificultades en la salida de la manga final saliendo el último, remontó sobre la pista mojada del circuito de Llucmajor, esta vez con un chasis y motor nuevos todo funcionó a la perfección, junto con el equipo con el que ha corrido”.

“ En la sexta carrera del Trofeo Go-kart, Albert volvía a dominar a placer, sin tener la más mínima dificultad”.

“ Con la sexta prueba del balear, se cerraba la temporada de dicho campeonato y aunque Albert tuvo que luchar más de la cuenta, consiguió la pole y victorias en ambas mangas, proclamandose subcampeón de baleares de karting 2.007”.

“ La disputa de la penúltima y séptima carrera del Trofeo Go-kart, demostró que en la categoría junior no hay quien pueda con Albert, lo ganó todo y ya es campeón del Trofeo a falta de la última cita. Batiendo el record del Trofeo de ganar absolutamente todas las mangas del campeonato”.

Terminada la temporada de karting 2.007 en baleares , Albert, ahora piensa en el próximo año. Tiene planes un tanto ambiciosos,

Para acometer campeonatos de más alto nivel, sin olvidar el campeonato balear.

Albert, espera que con la ayuda de su familia y personas que le han apoyado esta temporada pueda conseguir realizar su sueño más inmediato que no es otro que correr carreras a nivel nacional y quizás internacional.

The ING Renault F1 Team remained at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona today to continue with its preparations for the 2008 season. The team was operating two R28s with Fernando Alonso and Nelson Piquet on driving duty.

Like yesterday conditions were cold and damp with consistent showers leaving the circuit wet for most of the day with patches of standing water. As a result the team was forced to postpone its scheduled programme and wait until the afternoon when the conditions eventually began to improve. The team made the most of the day by checking the systems on the car and rehearsing various race procedures in the garage.

Fernando completed limited running in the wet, but like yesterday the damp conditions meant the team was limited in what it could learn. The team will test for a further day tomorrow, and will remain in Barcelona for the test next week.

Fernando Alonso: “Another disrupted day and we did not do many laps. It was too wet in the morning to do any running so we waited until the afternoon. We did some laps and tried some things in the wet and it was a chance to get used to driving without traction control and to improve the behaviour of the car in these conditions. Tomorrow the forecast is better – we have been waiting for these conditions all week, so fingers crossed.”

Nelson Piquet: “It is hard to be patient when you have spent two days waiting around for the weather conditions to improve. I finished the day having completed only a single installation lap – a bit frustrating for me and all members of the team who had hoped that the track conditions would have improved by the end of the day. Tomorrow the track conditions will be better and hopefully we will be able to complete some proper work.”

Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer: “The weather was same as yesterday, and so again it was difficult to learn anything, and there was little point risking the cars in the tricky conditions. Fernando did some system checks in the afternoon, but as the conditions did not improve we ended the day early again. We will turn our attention to tomorrow and use the mileage when we feel we can get more out of it.”

Dicho reparto se llevará a cabo en la carpa de Karting Competición, S.A., en donde esperamos veros a todos.
Muchisimas gracias por vuestra colaboración tanto en el reparto de premios como en el campeonato del presente año 2008, que promete ser de lo mas disputado.

En los próximos días y en esta misma Web, se facilitará el reglamento del campeonato, asi como las fechas del calendario y aquellas otras cosas que pudieran ser de vuestro interés.

Programme:
Robert Kubica and Nick Heidfeld concluded the three days test in Jerez with development work of the new BMW Sauber F1.08. Contrary to the last two days, when the sessions were affected by strong winds, the weather today allowed numerous longruns which helped the team to evaluate different aerodynamical set-ups. Both drivers also executed practice starts and pitstops.
Over the three days period Kubica and Heidfeld completed a total of 336 and 319 laps (1488 and 1413 km) respectively. The team collected valuable data which enabled the engineers to improve the balance of the BMW Sauber F1.08. With four weeks to go before the season opening Australian Grand Prix the team will conduct further test sessions to capitalize on the full potential of the all new car.
What comes next:
Next stop on BMW Sauber F1 Team’s test schedule is Valencia, where from February 19th to 21st the development work on the F1.08 car will continue. Robert Kubica, Nick Heidfeld and new test driver Christian Klien are scheduled to attend.

The ING Renault F1 Team concludes its testing programme in Jerez

The ING Renault F1 Team was on track today to complete the final day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez in the south of Spain. The team was again operating a two-car programme with two R28s in action as preparations continue ahead of the opening Grand Prix in Melbourne next month.

Nelson Piquet remained at the wheel of the R28-02 for a third consecutive day, while fellow Brazilian Lucas Di Grassi returned to the cockpit of the R28-01, replacing Fernando Alonso for the final day. The young Brazilian first sampled the R28 on Tuesday and was happy to be back in the cockpit as he continues to familiarise himself with the new car.

Conditions remained warm and sunny throughout the day, and there was no repeat of the windy conditions that swept across the circuit yesterday, allowing the team to continue with its programme as planned. The team also took the opportunity to carry out some further pit stop practice.

Both drivers worked on improving the balance of the car and Nelson concentrated on long runs in the afternoon, covering a total 134 laps, adding to the two race distances he completed earlier in the week. Lucas had some minor problems in the morning but enjoyed a positive afternoon when he carried out some brake testing.

The team head to Barcelona next week to continue the intensive development programme.

Nelson Piquet: ”It was another good day and again we covered a lot of miles, which I’m happy about. Obviously we are working hard to improve the car as much as we can and we’re definitely seeing the results of the hard work from everyone back at the factory on the track. We have collected more valuable data today, which the team will be able to analyse before the test next week in Barcelona. So, overall a good three days for me and I definitely feel I am getting more used to the physical demands of F1.“

Lucas Di Grassi: “Today we spent the day testing a lot of different parts, so it was not about ultimate performance but understanding how these parts worked on the car. We found some good things and made some progress, so I’m happy with how the day went. Overall my two days here in Jerez with the team have been a very good experience and I was impressed with the R28. I feel I’m improving each time I drive the car and with the feedback I give the team, and I look forward to the next time I can work with the team.”

Christian Silk, Chief Test Engineer: “We kept to the programme as planned today with Nelson doing some set-up work in the morning, and then a race distance in the afternoon with no major problems on the car. With Lucas we did set-up work in the morning, but we had a few problems which slowed us down a bit. But the afternoon went well and we did some brake testing and Lucas gave good feedback and we have some valuable data.”
