Entrevista con Toni Alarcón

Miguel Ferrer/Wolfgang Lindner, Circuito de Llucmajor._Esta semana con motivo de una entrevista para la cadena de televisión IB3, Toni Alarcón tuvo la oportunidad de ponerse al mando de uno de los fórmulas de la GU-RACING-SCHOOL ubicada en el Circuito de Mallorca Renn Arena. El piloto balear pasó un buen rato a pesar del frío que hacía y del estado de la pista.

Alarcón que actualmente está compitiendo en el complicado mundo del karting tiene previsto competir en las GP4 Series el próximo año, una categoría muy cercana a los monoplazas de GU-RACING. De esta manera y aprovechando la entrevista por parte de la productora, el piloto mallorquín rodó con un fórmula en el trazado de Llucmajor aunque las condiciones no eran las más adecuadas al estar muy húmeda la pista y el monoplaza calzar compuestos duros. Toni Alarcón dio unas vueltas al circuito y aprovechó para hacer manos, al bajarse del vehículo destacó las sensaciones que transmite este pequeño monoplaza, que según él, es idóneo para el deportista que quiere pasar de los karts a los fórmulas. Con un motor de 110 CV y un peso cercano a los 350 kgs. Tiene una excelente relación peso/potencia de forma que las sensaciones al volante son más que impresionantes, sobre todo si es para una persona que no tenga experiencia en competición.

Es una pena que GU-RACING no monte una copa o campeonato de velocidad con estos vehículos que son la mar de divertidos y muy económicos de mantener.

Una vez finalizada la entrevista aprovechamos para entablar conversación con Sebastián Grunert, encargado y profesor de la escuela. Él nos comentó que toda persona mayor de 18 años y con carnet de conducir o si se trata de un piloto con experiencia demostrada en competición de karting pueden subirse a uno de estos pequeños bólidos. El precio es muy interesante ya que puedes dar diez vueltas al circuito por tan sólo cien euros. Pero si uno quiere ir más lejos GU-RACING-SCHOOL tiene un curso de un día de duración que consta de teórica y práctica, ambas se compaginan a lo largo de la jornada. En la parte final del curso si se ve que el alumno es aventajado se le deja rodar solo en pista a su ritmo.

Otra de las opciones es la de montar un evento para 8 o 10 personas, aunque incluso puede ser un número menor a modo de cursillo y posterior competición.

Toni Alarcón no quiso despedirse sin antes agradecer tanto a la GU-RACING-SCHOOL como a IB3 la oportunidad que le ofrecieron ambos, a la vez que aprovechó para desearles unas felices fiestas.DSC_8177 DSC_8174

SOUCEK HAILS ‘BEST SEASON’

2009 FIA Prize Giving Gala

The prestigious FIA Gala in Monaco capped a sensational season for Andy Soucek as he was officially crowned the inaugural FIA Formula Two Champion.

With seven wins and 11 podiums from 16 races, Soucek claimed the title in imperious fashion. The Spaniard took his first race victory at round four in Brno, Czech Republic, before going on to finish every race inside the top four for the remainder of the season. On 1 December, Andy Soucek piloted the Williams F1 car in Jerez, Spain as part of his prize for winning the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship, setting the fastest time of the day.

Andy Soucek said:

“I am incredibly proud of my success in Formula Two. It was the best season of my life, and I have enjoyed every moment. More than anything else, Formula Two has opened doors in Formula One for me, which is a dream for any driver.

“I was expecting to be right on the top before the season started, but I didn’t expect to win by such a margin. Every race was a different challenge and every single win was special: my first in Brno was incredible, and then Imola and Barcelona, where I won the last two races in front of all my friends, family and sponsors – that was the perfect end to my championship.

“There were a lot of very good drivers who were really quick at different circuits, so it was a real challenge for me to actually score so many wins. In doing so I think I beat a lot of records in the history of Formula Two, which is a great honour.”

Primer Desafío Adrián Vallés & Amigos

Hola a todos,

El próximo 19 de diciembre se celebrará en el AVkarting, La Font Santa-Teulada un Desafío entre pilotos de formulas de primerísimo nivel, se disputará con todos en igualdad de condiciones, karts aportados por la organización y siguiendo el formato clasificatorio de la Superleague Formula.

Previamente, a lo largo de la mañana, se disputará el Desafío Facebook, entre fans de Adrián Valles. Tendrán el premio de conquistar una plaza para el Desafío de la tarde y medirse cara a cara con los pilotos profesionales.

Por la tarde, contaremos con la presencia en pista de Adrián y Moisés Vallés, Jaime Alguersuari (Toro Rosso F1), Miki Monrás (Formula 2), Marco Barba (World Series by Renault), Kasper Andersen (Superleague Formula), Tristan Gommendy (Superleague Formula), Carlo Van Dam (Superleague Formula), Siso Cunill (Porsche Super Cup) y del Campeón del Desafío Facebook.

Ya por la noche se celebrará una Macrofiesta BARRACA en el Espai La Senieta de Moraira, con los DJ’s Rafa Siles y AFFKT de Barraca, mas DK Mik de Barcelona y un DJ invitado sorpresa.

Joe Schmitz bei der International Motor Show in Luxemburg-Kirchberg

Am kommenden Wochenende wird wieder die International Motor Show in Luxemburg-Kirchberg stattfinden. Joe Schmitz wird gleich mit zwei Rennfahrzeugen dort präsent sein. Während er seinen ex-Formel-BMW auf dem Stand der Ecurie-Motoclub Goodyear ausstellt, wird der Aston Martin V8 Vantage, mit dem er Dritter in der Rundstreckenmeisterschaft wurde, auf dem Stand von Wengler-Racing – Grand Garage Ford Paul Wengler zu bewundern sein. Am Samstag und am Sonntag, jeweils um 14.00 Uhr und um 16.00 Uhr, steht ein „public photoshooting“ mit zwei Grid Girls und dem britischen GT auf dem Plan. Des Weiteren bietet sich die Gelegenheit den einzigartigen Luxemburger „Roude Leiw Energy Drink“ , vom neuen Partner von Joe Schmitz gratis zu testen. Anlässlich der IMS 2009 wird auch die 3. Ausgabe des JS-Racing Bulletin zur Verteilung kommen.   Jedenfalls wird der Weg zur International Motor Show 2009, sowie ein Besuch bei Joe Schmitz, sich lohnen. Liebe Teilnehmer aus 2009, liebe Freunde der Creme21,
Die bereits sechste Creme21 austria youngtimer tour ist im Juli entspannt und cremig über die Bühne gegangen. Wir haben wieder sensationelles Feedback bekommen – das Lob hat uns sehr gefreut.
Jetzt geht es weiter ins nächste Jahr – und wir wollen die creme21 austria youngtimer tour ausbauen und weiterhin als Fixpunkt in der kleinen aber feinen österreichischen Youngtimerszene etablieren.

Convenio de Patrocinio entre la Fundació Illesport y varios de nuestros deportistas

Esta mañana, en el Salón de actos del Palma Arena, ha tenido lugar la firma de los convenios de patrocinio entre la Fundació Illesport y tres de nuestros más destacados deportistas, David Salom, Lluís Salom y Pedro Vallcaneras. El encargado de estampar su firma, por parte de la Consellería d’Esports i Joventut, ha sido el director general, Gabriel Gili, que ha estado acompañado por el presidente de la Federació Balear de Motociclisme José Yuste. En el acto también han estado presentes el Gerente de la Fundació Illesport Jorge Mandado y su Director de Patrocinios Jordi Borrell.

Einen Formel Rennwagen mal selbst zu fahren, davon muss man nicht träumen, bei der GU-RACING School auf Mallorca ist dies möglich.

Freunde von mir haben es gemacht. Wir hatten uns für den vergangenen Freitag den 25.09.09 verabredet und ich glaube es hat allen viel Spass gemacht.

Audi Tradition mit Walter Röhrl auf der Eifel Classic

29. September 2009 – Als Hauptsponsor beteiligt sich Audi Tradition an der erstmalig ausgetragenen Eifel Classic vom 1. bis 3. Oktober. Start wird im historischen Fahrerlager des Nürburgrings sein und natürlich durchfahren die Teilnehmer auch die legendäre Nordschleife. Ziel nach über 640 Kilometern Gleichmäßigkeitsrallye ist Luxemburg. Für Audi Tradition startet das „Traumduo“ der deutschen Rallye-Geschichte Walter Röhrl/Christian Geistdörfer im Audi Sport quattro Rallye mit der Startnummer eins.

Die Eifel Classic hat für Audi Tradition hat einen besonderen Stellenwert. Nach dem ersten Rallye-Tag wird auf dem Nürburgring, beim Fahrerlager der Grand Prix Strecke, eine Skulptur anlässlich des 100.Geburtstages von Bernd Rosemeyer enthüllt. Der Star-Pilot der Auto Union schrieb in den 1930er Jahren auf dem Nürburgring Geschichte. In seiner kurzen und glorreichen Karriere gewann er auf Deutschlands berühmtester Rennstrecke 1936 und 1937 das Eifelrennen  und 1936 auch den Großen Preis von Deutschland, ehe er im Januar 1938 bei einem Geschwindigkeits-Weltrekordversuch zu Tode kommen sollte.

Der Sohn der Rennfahrer-Legende, Professor Dr. Bernd Rosemeyer, wird die feierliche Enthüllung der Skulptur seines Vaters begleiten. Bernd Rosemeyer junior fährt auch in einem der fünf Fahrzeuge von Audi Tradition, einem Audi Urquattro. Die Automobile werden von der Eifel nach Luxemburg noch zwei andere Rennstrecken in Angriff nehmen: Am 2. Oktober die Dunlop-Teststrecke bei Wittlich wie am 3. Oktober die Goodyear-Teststrecke bei Colmar-Berg.

Am Start darüber hinaus für Audi Tradition ist ein Audi Sport quattro, gelenkt vom zweimaligen Deutschen Rallyemeister Harald Demuth, ein Audi 100 Coupé S, ein Audi 50 und das wohl herausragendste Fahrzeug der Veranstaltung, ein original Audi Sport quattro Rallye aus der Weltmeisterschafts-Saison 1984. Besetzt ist der Wagen mit den zweifachen Rallyeweltmeistern Walter Röhrl und Christian Geistdörfer, die im Nummer eins Auto dem Feld voran fahren werden.

F2 championship leader Soucek targets Formula One in 2010

Soucek overlooking Valencia harbour

Current FIA Formula Two Championship leader Andy Soucek is targeting a seat with a Formula One team in 2010 after taking his third commanding victory of the season at Donington Park last weekend. The Spaniard believes Formula Two’s level playing field has finally given him the chance to demonstrate the true extent of his talent.

Soucek has fully delivered in his debut F2 season, impressing onlookers with his speed, consistency and determination. He currently lies 22 points ahead of nearest rival Robert Wickens in the championship standings, and has recorded three wins and two second place finishes in the five events so far this year. He also produced a brilliant display of attacking driving in race two at Donington Park, including a stunning overtaking manoeuvre on Sebastian Hohenthal at the Craner Curves. The 24-year-old is one of the most experienced and successful drivers in this season’s line up having previously won the Spanish F3 championship, scored podium finishes in GP2 and been a race winner in Formula Renault 3.5. He has also sampled F1 machinery, testing for the Panasonic Toyota team in 2006.

Andy Soucek said: “I feel I am ready for the chance in Formula One. I am hoping to get my second test in an F1 car, following my run with Toyota in 2006. I believe I have the ability, experience and maturity to adapt quickly to a Formula One car again. I am in a good position having already driven an F1 car and most of the single-seater formulae below – it is about finding the limits of the car quickly and hopefully I will get the chance to prove I can do that.”

Formula Two is a series that features identical equipment for all 24 of its drivers and offers the prize of a full test with the Williams F1 team to its champion, whilst the top three drivers will be eligible to qualify for an FIA Superlicence.

Soucek added: “Formula Two has finally given me the opportunity to prove what I can do in equal equipment. Most of the time in other series it is the teams that really make the difference. You can see in F2 that it is extremely close – during qualifying, the top six have been separated by just two tenths of a second and the top 18 drivers covered by less than a second. It is incredible, and we all can honestly say that we, as drivers, have the same opportunities as each other. If I can win the championship this season, I will be really excited about the fantastic opportunity to test with Williams. There are also several new teams entering Formula One next season so it is a good time for me to be showing what I can do, as there will hopefully be more opportunities in 2010.”

Jonathan Palmer, Chief Executive of Formula Two organiser MotorSport Vision, believes Soucek has proved himself worthy of a drive in F1: ”Amongst an extraordinarily competitive field Andy has really stood out with a superb combination of pace, racecraft and consistency. Andy is also outstandingly professional as well as being a great guy and I have no doubt will be highly impressive when he makes the F1 debut he deserves."
Andy Soucek was a guest of the Williams F1 team at the European Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain, this weekend.

The next two rounds of the FIA Formula Two Championship will take place in Oschersleben, Germany, on 4/5/6 September, partnering the FIA World Touring Car Championship.
