8. Rally Clasico Isla Mallorca: DOMINIK AN DER HAIDEN SE LLEVA UNA NUEVA VICTORIA

La jornada de hoy sábado comenzaba con suertes dispares para los pilotos locales, mientras Tacho se anotaba la primera pasada de Campanet, Galiana sufría un nuevo problema mecánico y sólo podía ser octavo en este tramo. Los alemanes An Der Heiden y Óberdorster seguían a Tacho en la clasificación.
En el tramo Caimari-Lluc, Tacho volvía a imponerse a sus rivales y parecía que estaba recuperando el tiempo perdido en las cronos anteriores, aunque An Der Heiden seguía como líder firme en la general.
La segunda pasada por Campanet ha seguido igual de reñida ocupando los tres primeros puestos An Der Heiden, Tacho y Galiana que después de solventar sus problemas mecánicos se mantenía como segundo clasificado de la general a un minuto del líder.
Nadal Galiana esperaba recortar distancias de nuevo en la segunda pasada por Caimari-Lluc pero el tramo ha sido neutralizado por problemas de horario y Nadal no ha podido aprovechar su ventaja.
Tras una parada en el Hotel Formentor para reponer fuerzas, los pilotos afrotaban la montaña y nuevamente era el potente 911 de An Der Heiden el que se llevaba el mejor tiempo por delante de Roof y Eschmann. Galiana terminaba cuarto y seguía segundo de la general, mientras que el equipo formado por Tacho-Cañellas debia abandonar por problemas mecánicos.
El equipo mallorquín ponía toda la carne en el asador para el último tramo del Rally, logrando el mejor tiempo por delante de Eschmann y Roof pero se quedaban a un segundo del tiempo acumulado en la general por An Der Heiden.
De esta forma el equipo An Der Heiden-Ottenburger se llevan la victoria absoluta para Alemania de este octavo rally clásico isla mallorca
El pequeño Lotus Elan de Sheldon se lleva la victoria en la categoría Pre 66 por delante del equipo Ortega-Salar y el Ford Anglia de Juan-Abraham.
En la categoría de regularidad, el equipo mallorquín formado por Barcelo y Verger ha sufrido durante el día de hoy y han ido sumando puntos hasta perder el liderato. El Porsche de Ochogavias se colocaba primero desde la primera pasada por Campanet y no dejaba este puesto hasta el final del Rally.

El mallorquín acabado la primera carrera tras los grandes

Pedro Font sexto en el Rallye Baja Andalucía

Huéscar, (Granada, España), sábado 17 de marzo de 2012

El Campeonato de España de Rallyes de Tierra 2012, ha dado inicio este sábado con la disputa del II Rallye Baja Andalucía, una prueba que ha acogido la localidad andaluza de Huéscar de Granada y que además es doble, puesto que mañana domingo se disputará la segunda carrera.

Durante esta jornada ha tenido lugar el primero de los dos rallyes que hay previstos para este fin de semana, y donde Pedro Font y su copiloto, el catalán Oriol Julià han cuajado una gran actuación. El balear ha finalizado a espaldas de los mejores pilotos del panorama estatal, acabando en el sexto puesto de la clasificación general y segundo del grupo N Plus.

La carrera en sí ha constado de dos pasadas a dos tramos cronometrados que se presentaban muy técnicos, con zonas de gran velocidad y que han puesto a prueba a todos los participantes. Pedro Font y Oriol Julià han tomado la salida al mando de un Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX y han completado las cuatro especiales prácticamente sin problemas con un pilotaje muy regular que les ha permitido estar entre los primeros. Tan solo en la tercera cronometrada ha surgido un pequeño problema con la bomba de gasolina, incidente que se ha podido solucionar sobre la marcha.

Al acabar la competición Pedro nos comentaba:

"Para ser la primera prueba de la temporada no nos podemos quejar hemos acabado en nuestro puesto, tras los grandes. Las especiales estaban bastante rotas y algunas eran de gran dificultad, no he querido arriesgar en exceso puesto que mañana hay que intentar estar de nuevo entre los mejores."

Galiana planta cara y luchará por la victoria

Ayer jueves daba comienzo el octavo rally clásico isla mallorca y los participantes afrontaban las dos primeras cronometradas al caer el sol.
Problemas mecánicos retrasaban a Nadal Galiana y en esta primera sección el Porsche de Tacho lograba imponerse a los alemanes Eschmann y An Der Heiden.
La jornada de hoy viernes daba comienzo a las 8:45 h. con el tramo del Coll de sa Creu donde Tacho rompía la rótula de su 911 y dejaba en manos de An Der Heiden la etapa. En el segundo tramo de la mañana, Galiana llevaba su Escort dos décimas de segundo más rápido que el Porsche de An Der Heiden y en la segunda pasada por el tramo de Capdellá ambos pilotos marcaban el mismo tiempo, mas reñido imposible.
El tramo por excelencia de todos los participantes, Sa Calobra, siempre ha sido feudo de los coches más potentes, los RSR y los Turbo parten con ventaja y de esta forma An Der Heiden se anotaba una etapa más en su casillero.
Nadal Galiana volvía a plantar cara en el último tramo del día llevándose el primer puesto y colocándose segundo de la clasificación general.

En la categoría regularidad el BMW de Barcelo-Verger están anotándose todos los tramos y al finalizar la jornada de hoy acumulaban un total de 96,6 puntos por delante de los 99 que lleva el Porsche de Ochogavias-Ansotegui.
Mañana sábado dará comienzo la tercera y última sección del rally desde Puerto Portals.

EXCELENTE REAPARICION DE ALBERT COLL, EN EL CAMPEONATO BALEAR DE KARTING 2012

El pasado fin de semana, daba comienzo el Campeonato Balear de karting 2012, en el Circuito de Magaluf, en el que reaparecia el piloto mallorquín Albert Coll.

Albert, reaparecia en el Campeonato regional, con una meta bién clara, terminar lo más arriba posible en la clasificación, puntuando con dos segundos puestos, que serán vitales para final de temporada.

El piloto de la Escuderia Mallorca Competició, estrenaba material, en esta primera prueba, del Campeonato, en la que su propio equipo, le ha garantizado mejoras tanto mecánicas como de reglaje del chasis, de cara a las próximas citas.

WTCC’S STRONG SUPPORT TO ACTION FOR ROAD SAFETY

The FIA World Touring Car Championship is pushing further in support of FIA’s Action for Road Safety campaign that aims for reducing the number of the victims of road incidents worldwide.
After posing for a picture with the campaign banner, last year in Macau, the WTCC driver took part at Monza in a number of initiatives.
On Friday Yvan Muller and Gabriele Tarquini met a group of teen-agers from a local high school; the two WTCC champions performed behind-the-wheel demonstrations and explained secrets and correct behaviors of driving on the roads, showing that while they are famed for taking cars to their limit on the track, driving on public roads is about more than pace and power.
Later Muller and Tarquini were joined by fellow drivers Tom Chilton and Mehdi Bennani to record multi-lingual TV messages to young drivers about road safety, and in particular in support of FIA Action for Road Safety.
Speaking in their own native languages, the drivers pointed out that 1.3 mllion people are killed each year on the world’s roads – a number equivalent to the population of Milan. They also added that fatalities on the roads are the main cause of death among young people aged 15-29 and that 90 per cent of those youngsters come from developing countries.
On Saturday the FIA President Jean Todt met the boys and girls who had attended Friday’s event and presented them with a certificate of participation.
The President and all WTCC drivers also posed for a picture, showing the FIA Golden Rules for a safe driving.
For the whole season the Action for Road Safety logo will be sported on all WTCC cars and the drivers‘ helmets, in the steps of Formula One and World Rally Championship.

FORD CARS COMPLETED BOTH RACES AT MONZA
Team Aon drivers Tom Chilton and James Nash completed both races at Monza, on their maiden appearance in the WTCC.
The Britons equally shared 13^th and 16^th places at the wheel of their brand new Ford Focus S2000 TC cars, despite being both involved in incidents (Nash in Race 1, Chilton in Race 2) that affected the drivability of their cars.
Chilton commented: "We didn’t have the greatest of luck during the races but it was great to see that the car has potential in qualifying and race set-up. I think we can be proud of what we’ve achieved in our first race weekend."
And Nash added: "The team did a fantastic job all weekend, after the damage from race one they were outstanding when they worked on the car. I think we can be proud to have been so close to the other cars in terms of pace."
Team Principal Mike Earle said: "This weekend has seen the team go through an almost vertical learning curve – which is what we expected in a new series, on a new track, with a new engine and a highly modified car. We’ve shown though that we’ve been very close to the pace of some of the front runners and all in all it’s been an incredibly promising start to the season which the team can be proud of."

Chilton and Nash are optimist after their Ford cars completed both races at Monza

THREE ABREAST IN THE YOKOHAMA TROPHY
The fight for top positions in the Yokohama Trophy is already incredibly close. At Monza a bunch of drivers provided breathtaking fights for the leadership and also challenged the top drivers for the overall positions.
Eventually Pepe Oriola in a Tuenti Racing Team SEAT León and Stefano D’Aste with the Wiechers-Sport BMW 320 TC shared victories, but Alex MacDowall, Norbert Michelisz, Alberto Cerqui, Aleksei Dudukalo and Franz Engstler were also in the leading pack.
This resulted in D’Aste, Oriola and MacDowall co-leading the standings on equal points, while Engstler and Michelisz are only two and three points adrift respectively.
"It was a very hard race and and the car worked perfectly. It was a hard fight with Dudukalo, but in the end he ran on oil at Lesmo I could pass him. I didn’t want to take too many risks because I was concentrating on scoring good points," Oriola said after Race 1.
D’Aste declared after winning Race 2: "After the first race the team managed to solve an issue with the gearbox and I had a very good start. When I saw the Chevrolet cars in my mirrors, it felt like being in the sea with three blue sharks approaching, but my goal was to score points in the Trophy and that’s what I had to concentrate on doing."
Newcomer MacDowall stated: "I’m happy to come away from my first ever WTCC event tied at the top. I was pleased with a second and third but I still think I could’ve won that final race had it not been for that small mistake. But this is the perfect start for me."

BARLESI AND WÉBER WATCHED BY THE STEWARDS
WTCC rookies Andrea Barlesi and Gábor Wéber will be thoroughly watched by the Stewards during the next three events as they both were given suspended penalties for causing incidents during the first race at Monza. In both cases the victims were Proteam Racing’s drivers.
SUNRED Engineering’s Barlesi was deemed guilty for the collision that forced Mehdi Bennani out of the race, while Zengö Motorsport’s Wéber had his responsibilities in the retirement of Isaac Tutumlu, Bennani’s team-mate.
Should they commit similar infringements in one of the next three events, Barlesi and Wéber risk to be dropped ten positions on the grid.

Salida del VIII Rally Clasico Isla Mallorca

Hoy a las 18:30 h. han tomado la salida desde Puerto Portals los participantes del VIII Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca.
Desde primera hora de hoy jueves los coches clásicos han tomado el puerto y han pasado las verificaciones técnicas previas.
El alcalde de Calviá, Manuel Onieva, ha sido el encargado de dar la bandera de salida al primer participante que partía hacia el tramo del Coll de Biniforani.
Un gran número de aficionados se han acercado a ver la salida del Rally, disfrutando con cada coche y animando a sus favoritos.
El arco de salida presidido por dos relojes de la marca ORIS ha visto pasar a los ochenta participantes que recorrerán las carreteras de mallorca durante estos tres días de competición.

Daniel McKenzie switches from Formula Renault 3.5 to F2

Top British talent targets Williams F1 title prize in 2012

Leading British driver Daniel McKenzie has become the latest driver to confirm his place on the grid for the 2012 FIA Formula Two Championship.

The 23-year-old, who competed with the Comtec team in Formula Renault 3.5 in 2011, first sampled the Williams JPH1B F2 car in Barcelona last December, where he acclimatised himself very quickly, becoming a regular top ten finisher. He was particularly impressive on day two, where he ran seventh quickest overall ahead of many more experienced drivers.

McKenzie began his single seater career in Formula BMW UK and Formula Renault 2.0, rapidly building a reputation as one of his countrys top young prospects. In 2009 he stepped up to British F3, winning the National Class championship at his first attempt with 11 wins and 19 podiums. The following year he contested the International Class in British F3 and was a regular frontrunner, collecting two wins and four podiums on his way to ninth overall.

Im really looking forward to this season, said McKenzie. Im certainly not in it to make up the numbers, I want to win and the Williams F1 test is a massive incentive! I enjoyed driving the car during the Barcelona test and once Id got used to the turbo I found it really pleasurable to drive.

El balear competirá en la Copa Vallés y en el nacional de karting

Arrancamos la temporada

Campanet (Illes Balears), jueves 15 de marzo de 2012.

El vigente campeón de la Copa Vallés en la categoría Cadete, el campaneter Miguel Socías inicia este fin de semana su programa deportivo para la temporada 2012. El joven piloto competirá en el Campeonato de España de Karting, en la categoría cadete. Al mismo tiempo que participará en la Gold Cup Kart 2012, antigua Copa Vallés.

Para este año el equipo MS Motorsport cambia de chasis y competirá con los famosos Robert Kubica fabricados por la prestigiosa firma italiana Birel, quien también proporcionará los nuevos motores BMB de 60 cc que actualmente están empleando en el campeonato italiano.

La temporada se inicia este fin de semana con la disputa del primer "meeting" de la Gold Cup Kart 2012 que visitará el emblemático circuito de Finestrat (Benidorm). Un trazado que conoce a la perfección el piloto balear puesto que es su base de operaciones en la península. Miguel Socías ya ha rodado con su nuevo chasis y ha probado el nuevo motor, y a pesar que todavía no ha terminado de adaptarse a su nueva montura tiene buenas sensaciones para esta primera prueba.

Miguel Socías nos comentaba esta misma mañana:

"Tengo ganas de empezar la temporada para poder ver de nuevo a mis amigos y a la vez rivales. Esta temporada asumiremos nuevos retos como el Campeonato de España de Karting, y lo haremos con un kart bastante competitivo, espero que podamos hacer un buen papel, tanto en la Copa Vallés como en el certamen estatal."

El balear intentará revalidar el título de Campeón de España de Grupo N

Pedro Font repetirá en el nacional de tierra

Después de un largo período de inactividad tras imponerse el pasado año en el Campeonato de España de Rallyes de Tierra en el apartado de grupo N, Pedro Font quería marcarse nuevos retos para esta temporada que está por empezar, no obstante visto el panorama nacional, y el buen momento que está atravesando el nacional de tierra, el piloto balear ha decidido repetir en el CERT.

Lo hará al volante de un Mitsubishi Evo IX de grupo N, el cual estará asistido por el reconocido preparador catalán Calm Competició. De la misma manera el mallorquín confiará una vez más con el experimentado copiloto catalán Oriol Julià en el asiento derecho.

El Campeonato de España de Rallyes de Tierra 2012, está compuesto por cinco citas, de las que dos son dobles (Baja Andalucía y la Baja España). Este fin de semana se dará el banderazo de salida al certamen estatal que casualmente arrancará justo donde acabó el pasado año. Huéscar de Granada acogerá la II Baja Andalucía y los aficionados podrán disfrutar de dos apasionantes carreras, una se disputará el sábado y la otra en la jornada del domingo.

Un total de veinte equipos se darán cita en la prueba andaluza que inaugura el Campeonato. Entre los principales protagonistas podemos destacar al dakariano Nani Roma, que regresa a la tierra de la mano de Pilar Barceló, con la que ganó en el Rallye de Cervera del año pasado; o el de Xevi Pons, que participará junto a Xavi Amigo a bordo de un Evo X. Óscar Fuertes, actual Campeón de la especialidad, también estará presente, y lo hará con nuevo copiloto, el veterano Lucas Cruz. También estarán en la línea de salida Rubén Gracia con un Ford Focus WRC; el andorrano Albert Llovera y el mejicano Ramón Ferreiros entre otros.

Pedro Font comentaba instantes antes de partir:

"El nacional de tierra estará muy animado esta temporada, puesto que hay grandes pilotos, algunos de ellos de talla internacional. Será difícil intentar revalidar el título, pero gracias a este nivel hemos decidido quedarnos en este certamen donde esperamos poder brindar alguna que otra victoria a nuestros patrocinadores que un año más han hecho un gran esfuerzo para que podamos tomar la salida en la primera prueba del campeonato."

Formula Two is pleased to announce that the championships Technical Partner Comma Oil will be backing leading British talent Luciano Bacheta when the 2012 season gets underway at Silverstone in April.

The 21-year-old Briton recently announced hell contest a full F2 campaign this year after enjoying an impressive part-season in 2011, in which he scored points finishes in all of the four races he entered.

Bacheta, from Brentwood in Essex, now has his sights set on championship glory and the dream prize of a Williams F1 test, and is delighted to have the support of F2s long-term partner. Plamen Kralev confirms place on 2012 F2 grid

Bulgarias world motorsport ambassador returns for third season

Bulgarias official motorsport ambassador Plamen Kralev has become the latest driver to be announced for the 2012 FIA Formula Two Championship.

After an encouraging debut F2 season in 2010, Kralev continued to challenge for points last year with a number of strong performances, particularly in the second half of the season. His best weekend came at Austrias Red Bull Ring, where he recorded his second F2 points finish. From the back of the field in race one, he worked his way up the order gaining an impressive 12 places to finish tenth at the flag. He went on to challenge for the points on several other occasions.

For his 2012 campaign, Kralev remains Bulgarias official global motorsport ambassador having been elected in 2008 by the National Tourism Agency and is regarded as one of his countrys leading motor racing figures.

Kralev said: I am pleased to stay in my third year in F2. I believe this is the best championship for me that gives me an opportunity to build on my driving skills. With new Yokohama tyres I hope to deliver and fight regularly in the points and earn top 10 positions.

Formula Two Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer added: Plamen first joined F2 in 2010 with very little experience, but has worked really hard ever since and consistently improved his performances, taking full advantage particularly of F2s data comparison feature to learn from others. I am delighted Plamen will continue to progress his career in F2 this year. He knows podiums will be difficult to come by, but points finishes are a realistic target and something he can be proud of as a very popular ambassador for Bulgaria.

Puesta en marcha del VIII Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca

Hoy se ha presentado oficialmente la octava edición del Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca en Puerto Portals.
Este año el Rally Clásico cuenta con el apoyo de la marca ORIS como official Time Keeper, Puerto Portals como nuevo emplazamiento de la organización y salida del evento. Además de la colaboración de Brose, DPI y Mercedes Benz que se suman al apoyo del Consell de Mallorca, Ajuntament de Calviá y Fundación Calviá.
Antonio Dezcallar como organizador ha querido agradecer el esfuerzo económico que realizan los patrocinadores privados en estos momentos tan difíciles y la gran acogida por parte de los participantes.
El director general de deportes del Govern de les Illes Balears, Javier Morente ha destacado el carácter deportivo de este evento y Alberto Pons, Capitán de Puerto Portals ha recomendado a todo el mundo visitar el puerto para ver este gran espectáculo que combina a la perfección los barcos con los coches clásicos.
Por su parte, Margarita Bauzá, directora de Marketing de la marca ORIS en España ha presentado el exclusivo premio que recibirán los vencedores de este Rally, un espectacular reloj de edición limitada con una presentación muy especial.

Palerm incia la temporada con autoridad

El actual Campeon de Baleares de Karting Junior ha comenzado la temporada 2012 tal como termino, sin dar opciones a sus rivales desde la primera vuelta.
Este pasado fin de semana se ha disputado la primera prueba del Campeonato de Baleares de Karting en el circuito de Magalluf. Alex Palerm acudía a la prueba con su equipo el Diabolo Karting y desde los primeros entrenamientos ha marcado el ritmo, llevándose la pole positión con un tiempo de 46,7.
En las mangas de carrera nuevamente el joven Palerm realizaba una excelente salida y no abandonaba su primera posición hasta cruzar la linea de meta.
Palerm suma asi sus primeros 50 puntos de la temporada y sigue con su preparación de cara al Campeonato de España.
Alex Palerm: "Estoy muy contento con el resultado y satisfecho con el trabajo que estamos realizando para seguir subiendo el nivel. Quiero agradecer la renovación de nuestro patrocinador Olives Rosselló y seguiré trabajando para conseguir los mejores resultados esta temporada."

Ausnahmen gibt es tatsächlich immer noch, auch in wirtschaftlich schwieriger Zeit: im ATS Formel-3-Cup übersteigt derzeit die Nachfrage das Angebot. Die neuen Exklusivmotoren von Volkswagen sind extrem gefragt. Bei der Spiess Motorenbau GmbH entwickelt und produziert, wird der Volkswagen Power Engine je nach Bestelleingang Zug um Zug an die Teams ausgeliefert.
Herr Spiess, welches Team hat eigentlich den ersten Volkswagen Power Engine erhalten?
Holger Spiess: Der erste Motor wurde Team Motopark ausgeliefert, sieht man mal von den Entwicklungsmotoren ab.
Wie viele dieser Exklusivtriebwerke für den ATS Formel-3-Cup 2012 werden gebaut?
Holger Spiess: Es werden 30 Motoren gebaut. Ursprünglich sah die Kalkulation 22 Motoren vor, doch die Nachfrage war einfach größer.
Was sind die gravierenden Unterschiede des Volkswagen Power Engine zum herkömmlich verwendeten Formel-3-Motor?
Holger Spiess: Der Volkswagen Power Engine verfügt über keinen Air-Restriktor. Der für die Formel 3 so typische Luftsammelbehälter dient eher optischen Zwecken. Zudem wird auf den Einsatz von extrem leichten Bauteilen im Motor verzichtet.
Dennoch hat der neue Motor mehr PS. Wie erreichen Sie dies?
Holger Spiess: Über die Drehzahl und über die größere Luftmenge, mit der der Motor versorgt wird.
Zusammen mit dem Exklusivmotor wird ja auch die Push-to-Pass Funktion eingeführt. Wie funktioniert dieses System, das ja kurzfristig eine Mehrleistung liefert?
Holger Spiess: Beim Nutzen der Funktion Push-to-Pass schaltet der Motor in einen anderen Betriebsmodus und erreicht so kurzzeitig rund 20 PS mehr.
Welche Tests haben Sie durchgeführt? Wie lange kann dieser neue Fofrmel-3-Motor ohne Revision im Auto verbleiben?
Holger Spiess: Nach diversen üblichen Prüfungen lief der Volkswagen Power Engine völlig klaglos mehr als 50 Stunden auf unserem dynamischen Prüfstand, dies ergibt über 10.000 Kilometer Laufleistung unter realen Bedingung.

Os recordamos que hoy lunes día 12 de Marzo a las 12:30 h. se presenta la octava edición del Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca en Puerto Portals, en la Fórmula Schwaiger (parte superior Tristan).
