Das erste Rennen ist bereits Geschichte und der Sieg ging dabei an Eric Neuber. Rodrigues, der auf Pole stand, wurde nach einem technischen Defekt in der vorletzten Runde noch als 10. gewertet.

Rodrigues, der im Qualifikationstraining erst in der letzen Runde seine Karten auf den Tisch legte, hatte die beste Startposition. Als die Ampel für das erste Rennen auf Grün schaltete und der Start freigegeben wurde, zog Neuber mit einem Blitzstart an Amweg und Rodrigues vorbei. Neuber führte das Feld bis in die zweite Runde an, ehe Rodrigues sich die Spitzenposition kurz vor der Haarnadelkurve wieder erkämpfte. Neuber konnte nicht Kontern und setzte sich in der Folge im Windschatten von Rodrigues fest. Wüsthoff und Amweg reihten sich hinter den beiden Führenden auf Rang 3 und 4 ein. Wüsthoff verteidigte seinen 3. Platz gegenüber Amweg bis in Runde 6, ehe dieser kurz vor den Haarnadel an Wüsthoff vorbei ziehen konnte. Die junge Dame im Feld, Corinna Kamper, gab richtig Gas und lag nach dem Zieleinlauf auf Rang 5. Gegenüber der Qualifikation verbesserte sie sich um einen Rang und bei den Rundenzeiten gar um 0.5 Sekunden. Im Rennen hinter Kamper liegend kämpften Kutzera, Richard, Ellis und Schwitter um die Ränge 5 bis 10. Marcel Felix, der in der zweiten Runde neben die Piste kam, reihte sich nochmals ein, konnte aber nicht mehr in die Entscheidung eingreifen. Rodrigues führte das Feld bis in die zweitletzte Runde an, ehe sein Motor auf der Zielgeraden seinen Dienst versagte. Das ganze Feld zog an ihm vorbei und Neuber, der an zweiter Stelle lag, siegte somit im ersten LO formel lista junior Rennen der Saison 2011.

Miki Monras secures second with final qualifying effort ahead of Will Bratt

Mirko Bortolotti clinched the first pole position of the 2011 FIA Formula Two Championship in the opening qualifying session at Silverstone today (Saturday).

After joining the session slightly late due to a problem with his seat belt, the Italian driver – who returns to F2 in 2011 following a season in GP3 – quickly rose to the top of the timesheets deposing Briton Will Bratt, who set the pace in the early stages.

The pair briefly traded times until Bortolotti became the first driver to dip below the 1m50s barrier with a quickest lap of 1:50.834s, which ultimately proved unassailable – and the Italian felt sufficiently confident to end his qualifying effort with five minutes of the session still remaining.

Mirko Bortolotti said: "That was a good session for me. We had the right strategy today and just used one set of tyres. The car felt pretty good, as it did in testing at Silverstone last month and in free practice yesterday, and we knew we had the potential today. We just needed to make a few further adjustments today, which gave me my first pole in F2."

Behind Bortolotti, Bratt maintained his second place until the closing stages of qualifying, when F2 rookie Spain’s Miki Monras made a superb final effort to secure a front row start for this afternoon’s first race.

Along with Monras and Bortolotti, Bratt was the third driver to post a time in the 1m50s, which was sufficient to clinch third on the grid. However, the British driver will have local knowledge on his side hailing from nearby Banbury.

Alex Brundle, who switches from British F3 for his second Formula Two campaign, took fourth place after running as high as second during the mid-stages of qualifying. The Norfolk racer was clearly pushing hard in the final stages, making a spectacular slide at one point as he wringed every inch of performance from the Williams JPH1B Formula Two car.

Free practice two pace-setter Mihai Marinescu secured fifth fastest ahead of Germany’s Tobias Hegewald, who made steady improvement throughout the session to go sixth quickest.

Ramon Pineiro, who briefly topped the timesheets at the start of qualifying, took seventh, with Briton Jack Clarke in eighth position.

Johannes Theobald qualified ninth, with Swiss rookie Christopher Zanella producing an impressive performance in his debut F2 qualifying session to round out the top ten.

Race one of the FIA Formula Two Championshship at Silverstone begins at 1.50pm today (UK time).

El circuito permanente de Fuente Álamo acogerá este fin de semana la segunda prueba del Campeonato de Murcia Wild Wolf-Primoti-Valles. Este singular trazado ha pasado ha formar parte del certamen murciano en los últimos años y su particular diseño con una buena anchura que permite adelantar casi sin problemas hará primordial que los equipos conozcan la trazada idónea para evitar al máximo ser superados pos sus rivales.

La carrera en sí comenzará el sábado con los entrenamientos libres y oficiales en las seis categorías que componen el campeonato. Por la tarde darán comienzo las primeras carreras, aunque en la categoría Cadete no será hasta la matinal del domingo cuando el piloto balear Miquel Socías dispute las dos mangas de carrera.

Si en la primera cita obtuvo unos buenos resultados que le colocaron en el podio, en esta ocasión el trabajo a realizar es más duro, puesto que al desconocimiento del trazado habrá que sumar la experiencia de sus más inmediatos competidores sobre dicho terreno. Aun así el piloto del Grupo Puma llega con la moral muy alta y espera deleitar a sus patrocinadores con otro buen resultado.

El circuito de La Manga Go Kart acogió la primera cita de la temporada 2011 y en ella hubo una buena participación con más de setenta equipos inscritos, por lo que los organizadores esperan que este segundo "meeting" haya un pequeño incremento participantes, lo que hará que el campeonato de la región de Murcia junto a la Copa Vallés sea uno de los más interesantes y accesibles de España.

El piloto de la Escudería Mallorca Competició nos explicaba sus inquietudes justo antes de afrontar esta nueva prueba:

"Es un circuito totalmente nuevo para mí, tendré que aprovechar al máximo las tandas de entrenamientos para hacerme al trazado, y los mecánicos deberán hacer lo mismo con los reglajes de chasis. Creo que si trabajamos duro podemos estar a la altura de nuestros rivales y de nuevo luchar por las plazas de honor en la Copa Vallés. No obstante no hay que olvidar a la competencia, puesto que hay gente que viene muy preparada y con muchas horas de entrenamiento a sus espaldas."

KOPECKY HEADS FOUR-WAY BATTLE FOR IRC GLORY

Jan Kopecky’s bid to make it two wins out of two on Rally Islas
Canarias El Corte Ingles remains on course after the Skoda Motorsport
driver completed the opening day of the all-asphalt competition with a
lead of 5.7s over rising star Thierry Neuville.
Kopecky, from Czech Republic, moved in front on Friday’s second
stage and remained in the lead despite the close attentions of the
chasing pack. Kopecky, in a Fabia Super 2000, is one of four drivers
covered by a margin of nine seconds heading into Saturday’s
final quartet of stages such is the intensity of the competition in
the Intercontinental Rally Challenge.
Second-placed Neuville has impressed throughout day one in his Team
Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207. The 22-year-old hasn’t put a
wheel wrong on his first IRC event with new co-driver Nicolas Gilsoul.
His only cause for concern came on the first loop of stages when he
reported a bout of oversteer, which he put down to his decision to
carry two spare tyres rather than one as part of a set-up experiment.
Juho Hanninen, the defending IRC champion, admitted to spending much
of the day trying to avoid making mistakes in order to remain in the
thick of the battle for top spot. He was fastest overall on stage six
to underline his continued emergence on asphalt and moved ahead of
Freddy Loix into third overall on stage seven.
Loix made his customary hesitant start to a rally and was down in
eighth overall after the first stage on the Gran Karting Club circuit
in the south of the island. But changes to his pacenotes for the
second loop of stages helped the BFO Skoda driver increase his pace.
He started the first night stage in second spot but slipped to fourth
after the run. With the second night test cancelled on safety grounds
he remains fourth overnight.
Guy Wilks was fastest on stages one and three but his lethargy
through the two passes of the Santa Lucia test has dented his hopes of
victory. “I lost confidence because the car was sliding at the
rear and I couldn’t commit in the fast corners,” said the
Peugeot UK driver who slipped from fifth to seventh on stage seven.
“We’ve been a bit too up and down and that has been the
frustrating part.”
Andreas Mikkelsen began Friday by winning a charity fun run in aid of
the people of Japan. He started the rally intent on landing his first
finish of the IRC season following his early exit on Rallye
Monte-Carlo in January. As a result, the Norwegian adopted a low risk
strategy in his Skoda UK Motorsport Fabia and holds fifth overnight,
one place ahead of Monte-Carlo winner Bryan Bouffier.
The Frenchman made several changes to the settings of his Peugeot
France 207 S2000 at first service in a bid to close the gap to the
leaders. He said the changes had helped his cause but he faces the
prospect of starting the final day almost 40s adrift of leader
Kopecky.
While Thursday’s pre-event shakedown took place in bright
sunshine and high ambient temperatures, Friday was largely overcast
with fog and even a small sprinkling of rain adding to the challenge
facing the crews. Bruno Magalhaes, who was actually fastest in
shakedown in his Peugeot Sport Portugal 207, was one of several
drivers to drop time in the heavy fog that coated parts of stages
three and six. He also suffered from understeer at one point and is
eighth overnight.
Giandomenico Basso, making his debut for PROTON Motorsports, is ninth
at the completion of day one. The Anglo-Malaysian outfit is using
Basso’s extensive experience to hone its fleet of Satria Neo
S2000s, which it is continuing to develop.
Team-mate PG Andersson was just outside the top 10 when he was forced
to stop to change a punctured front-right tyre on stage five. He also
picked up a slow rear-right puncture on the same test. But with only
one spare available he had to crawl through stage six on the damaged
rubber. The Swede also lost ground with a half spin on the first Gran
Canaria stage.
Toni Gardemeister completes the top 10 on his first outing for his
new TGS Worldwide operation and his first event behind the wheel of a
Fabia S2000. Spaniard Jonathan Perez is 11th with Joan Vinyes the
leading IRC 2WD Cup runner in 12th overall.
Vinyes holds a margin of almost one minute over his nearest 2WD Cup
rival, his fellow Spaniard Gorka Antxustegi. Angel Marrero is third in
class and 15th overall in a Honda Civic Type R, one place ahead of IRC
Production Cup leader, the Subaru Impreza driver Jose Barrios.

you lose so much time. Because it is so close it is very difficult to

FIA WTCC: NEXT STOP: ZOLDER, BELGIUM

The 3rd and 4th rounds of the 2011 FIA WTCC will take place at Zolder next week.
This event marks the opening of the championship’s European season that will come to an end on September 4th at Valencia, before the final tour to the Far East.
This is the second visit to the 4-km Belgian racetrack after last year’s event that saw Gabriele Tarquini and Andy Priaulx sharing victories for SEAT and BMW.
The WTCC resumes in Zolder after a five-week break that followed the season’s kick off at Curitiba, Brazil.
The Chevrolet team go to Belgium with the aim to defend their leadership in both the Drivers‘ and Manufacturers‘ Championship.
Current leader Rob Huff will be the man to watch. Not only because he won this year’s inaugural race in Brazil, as he also wants to make up from the 2010 disappointment, when Priaulx’s masterly defence driving deprived him of a possible victory in the second race.
Besides Huff’s team-mates at Chevrolet Yvan Muller and Alain Menu, other candidates to shine on the Belgian circuit are Gabriele Tarquini and especially Tom Coronel. The latter will benefit from the enthusiastic support of the many fans that will make the short trip from Netherlands to cheer their favourite driver.


Circuit Zolder hosts next week the second event of the WTCC season

TEAMS WORK AROUND THE CLOCK BEFORE ZOLDER
Three WTCC teams are working around the clock to get ready in time for the Belgian event.
Yesterday bamboo-engineering collected their two new Chevrolet Cruze cars today at RML factory in Wellingborough. The cars were shaken down by Chevrolet driver Alain Menu at a nearby airfield.
Bamboo’s drivers Darryl O’Young and Yukinori Taniguchi had started the season in Brazil with the old Chevrolet Lacetti machines powered by the 2.0L normally aspirated engines. From Zolder onwards they switch to the Cruze 1.6 turbo.
Team Principal Richard Coleman said: "We are very pleased, as now we can look forward to regaining our competitiveness. We appreciate the huge effort that RML and Chevrolet have made to get these cars ready for this weekend. The shakedown went well and the cars are now ready to go. Darryl and Yuke will get their first run in the cars in Friday’s test and I’m sure they will adapt very well and quickly get up to speed."
At the same time Wiechers-Sport and Zengö Dension Team are frantically working to finish building their new cars. Both teams were forced to miss the season opening event in Brazil while waiting to receive their new BMW 320 TC cars that will be driven by Urs Sonderegger and Norbert Michelisz respectively. Their plan is to shake down the cars early next week.

WTCC TO RACE AT BUDAPEST IN JUNE
Rounds 7 and 8 of the 2011 FIA World Touring Car Championship will take place at Budapest’s Hungaroring on June 5.
The WTCC Race of Hungary replaces the WTCC Race of Morocco that was scheduled on the same weekend at Marrakech but was cancelled after the local promoter was not able to secure the financial support required to keep the event going. This will be the first time the WTCC visits the 4.4km racetrack that is home to the Formula One Hungarian Grand Prix.
Championship promoter Marcello Lotti said: "We are very happy that the opportunity arose to find a worthy replacement for Marrakech. Budapest is the perfect solution: it is a modern and demanding circuit with impressive facilities, brings the championship to a new country in which WTCC has a lot of fans thanks to Norbert Michelisz and also means huge saving in terms of logistics as it lies only 350 km away from Brno that hosts the following event."
Zsolt Gyulay, CEO of the Hungaroring Sport Plc. echoed: "I am very glad that Hungary was given the chance to stage a WTCC event. This FIA World Championship is the second most popular series after Formula One. For this reason I think that the Hungaroring has added another prestigious international event to its racing calendar and this is also invaluable to Hungary because of the tourism. We sincerely hope that the WTCC Race of Hungary will be exciting and interesting for the Hungarian and the foreign fans. It is of high importance to us that Hungarian driver Norbert Michelisz can compete in front of Hungarian audience and at a Hungarian track for the first time in the series‘ history."

WTCC LANDS ON RTL IN GERMANY AND CCTV5 IN CHINA

Eurosport Events announced that the World Touring Car Championship will receive extended international TV coverage in 2011 thanks to new deals in two strategic markets: Germany and China.
The renewal of the broadcasting agreement with RTL means that the leading German commercial channel will air a 10-minute highlight programme of all the WTCC races immediately before the live broadcast of Formula One qualifying sessions.
A new agreement was signed with China’s national television CCTV for the broadcasting of dedicated highlight programmes of each WTCC event within "Auto Times" weekly programme on Wednesday at 7pm on the free-to-air channel CCTV5, that reaches a total of 399 million households. This will enable WTCC to reach not only the motorsport fan community but also a larger base through this leading TV car show in the biggest automotive market in the world.
Géraldine Filiol, Managing Director of Eurosport Events, said: "We are very satisfied with the signing of these new deals which are significant for the development of WTCC. They will ensure that our championship receives a strong visibility on terrestrial channels in Germany and China, two of the largest automotive markets in the world. The coverage of all 2011 races on these channels will definitely contribute to promote even further the WTCC and its partners, and attract larger and diversified audiences."


The WTCC will benefit from improved TV coverage in Germany and China

WTCC PROMOTER ATTENDS CTCC OPENING EVENT
The promoter of the World Touring Car Championship, Marcello Lotti is attending the opening event of the China Touring Car Championship this weekend at Shanghai’s Tianma Circuit.
The trip to China was mainly intended to fix the operative details for the joint event that WTCC and CTCC will run together at the Guangdong International Circuit on November 5, 2011.
Lotti and Chinese promoter Qing Xia had also the opportunity to discuss the future development of the CTCC in terms of technical regulations.
After the meetings Lotti took the the occasion for of having a closer look to the Chinese championship that is currently open to 2.0L and 1.6L cars split in two different categories.
"I knew already that the level of the championship was very good, with the involvement of a number of car manufacturer brands. And I was especially impressed by the excellent promotion around the event. This makes me confident that the WTCC Race of China in November will benefit from the experience and professionalism of the CTCC promoter," Marcello Lotti commented.

El equipo MS Motorsport siguiendo en su línea de aprendizaje ha establecido un nuevo programa de entrenamiento para su piloto Miguel Socías que actualmente compite en la categoría Cadete, a la vez que ha cerrado un importante acuerdo de colaboración con el preparador AVKS, filial de la multinacional italiana Parolín.

Por el presente Miguel Socías defenderá los colores de AVKS en el Campeonato Valenciano de Karting y para ello contará con material de primer nivel y todo el asesoramiento y apoyo del equipo humano de AVKS. No obstante este acuerdo no hubiera sido posible sin el apoyo incondicional de sus habituales patrocinadores que una vez más están haciendo un gran esfuerzo para que el campaneter pueda tener un calendario de pruebas de calidad y lo más extenso posible. Hay que recordar que además del certamen valenciano, el balear ya está compitiendo en la Copa Vallés y el Campeonato de la Región de Murcia (ambos certámenes se disputan juntos) y que tomará parte por primera vez en su carrera deportiva en las tres pruebas que componen el Campeonato de España de la especialidad.

Como era de esperar el piloto de la Escudería Mallorca Competició se ha estado preparando a conciencia entrenando en el circuito de Chicharra Karts en Villena, trazado que acogerá este fin de semana la segunda prueba del campeonato valenciano. Dicho circuito ha remodelado la parte final tras su recta principal logrando un mayor paso por curva, a la vez que ha aumentado su seguridad al anular un pequeño salto que había anteriormente.

Como de costumbre los entrenamientos se efectuarán en la jornada del sábado mientras que en la matinal del domingo se efectuaran las dos mangas de carrera.

Una vez firmado el acuerdo con AVKS Miguel Socías nos comentaba:

"No ha sido muy difícil cerrar el trato ya que había predisposición por ambas partes, y además contábamos con el importante apoyo de nuestros patrocinadores. Para mí es todo un honor poder volver a contar con los servicios y la experiencia de Vicente Vallés y sus mecánicos, el pasado año aprendí mucho con él y le debo casi todo lo que sé de este apasionante deporte. Por ello estoy encantado de poder defender los colores de AVKS en el valenciano y espero darle alguna que otra alegría, puesto que la competencia será dura, ya que hay grandes rivales en la categoría Cadete, ello hará más dulce la victoria, si esta llega. No quiero despedirme sin dar las gracias a todos los patrocinadores y especialmente a Vicente Vallés por esta oportunidad."

Mundial de 125cc – G.P. España – Carrera

Joan Perelló sigue su andadura en el Mundial de Motociclismo, en la categoría de 125GP, participando en la segunda carrera de la temporada que se ha celebrado este pasado domingo (3 de abril) en el Circuito de Jerez.

Durante los entrenos del viernes y del sábado, que se realizaron en un ambiente soleado, los técnicos del equipo italiano Matteoni Racing pusieron a punto la Aprilia RSW 125GP, con la que Joan se colocó en la 30ª posición de la parrilla, un trabajo que no se pudo aprovechar ya que las condiciciones climatológicas cambiaron radicalmente el domingo. Las previsiones se cumplieron y la lluvia hizo acto de presencia desde las primeras horas de la mañana. En estas condiciones se tuvo que trabajar muy rápido durante los escasos veinte minutos del Warm-Up para conseguir unos reglajes apropiados para una carrera que se declaró “en mojado”.

El piloto mallorquín realizó una carrera muy regular, manteniéndose en la pista y luchando por recuperar alguna posición. Al final de la carrera, en la que se produjeron bastantes caídas, pasó por la linea de meta en la 23ª posición. No cabe duda que esta carrera, con un asfalto muy resbaladizo, le ha permitido a Perelló coger una gran experiencia la moto.

Paolo Tajana (Team manager): “Aunque acabar en la 23ª posición no es un gran resultado, es sin duda una importante experiencia que permitirá a Joan aumentar su “feeling” con la moto”

Eduardo Perales (Manager – SAG): “La carrera de Jerez ha sido un poco caótica, con unos entrenos en seco y la carrera con el trazado mojado, y con momentos en los que la lluvia hacía acto de presencia. En estas circuintacias acabar la carrera, aunque sea un poco alejado de los puntos, se puede considerar un buen resultado.”

Joan Perelló: “Espero que las próximas carreras se desarrollen con normalidad, y que el trabajo que realizamos en las sesiones libres nos sirvan de algo. Para mí, que soy un recién llegado, y que no tengo ningún tipo de referencias de temporadas anteriores, estos cambios son un hándicap muy difícil de superar. Espero que en Portugal pueda hacerlo mejor.”

Tras la anulación del G.P. de Japón, la próxima carrera del Mundial de 125cc se celebrará en el Circuito de Estoril (Portugal), el próximo 1 de mayo.

Ana, Sanja, Bojana, Milana, Sandra, Gordana o quien mas va a ganar entre las 15 que apostan por el titulo de Miss Rallye del Croatia Rally 2011?
Es difícil hacer predicciones. Casi tanto como decir quién sera el ganador del Rally de Croacia, la segunda y decisiva cita del Campeonato Europeo de Rallyes de la FIA 2011, que se celebrará el próximo 19 al 21 de Mayo con sede en Rijeka.
Mientras tanto, a partir de ahora se pueden ver fotos de las aspirantes a Miss Rally en el sitio de la carrera (www.croatia-rally.com/miss/miss.html), a la espera de verlas en persona en los días del rallye entre la permanencia y el parque de asistencia del rallye en la zona peatonal de Rijeka, donde se conocerán el nombre de la elegida y el ganador de uno de los eventos deportivos más importantes en Croacia y en el Campeonato Europeo de Rallyes
Con las inscripciones ya abiertas se nota un interés tangible para un rallye que tendrá un peso considerable en la asignación de título, a pesar de que la adhesión formal se espera sobre todo después de 17 de abril, cuando comienza la cuenta atrás de los treinta días antes de la salida del rallye, y se acaba la primera carrera de la temporada continental, el 1000 Miglia en Italia.
Los pilotos de Croacia son particularmente ‘calientes’, ya que cuentan con el retorno a la validez máxima europea de su principal competición nacional para poner de relieve. En cuanto a los coches y los conductores involucrados en la lucha por el título europeo (hasta hoy se han apuntado 26), esta prácticamente seguro que habrá al menos un par de los nuevos Mini John Cooper Works así como numerosos Peugeot 207 S2000, Skoda Fabia S2000 y Abarth Grande Punto S2000 (coche que tiene el título europeo desde tres años seguidos). Pero las novedades podrían no acabar con el Mini: podrían estar también los nuevos Mitsubishi Lancer Evo R4 y Subaru Impreza R4 (ambas homologadas y disponibles a partir del 1 de mayo) y no se descarta incluso la participación de un Proton Satria Neo S2000 oficial, del equipo que ha contratado al ex Campeón de Europa Giandomenico Basso, quien esta apuntado al Campeonato Europeo de la FIA y quien no estará en la salida del Tour de Córcega en el calendario del IRC en la semana antes.

MUY DURA Y ACCIDENTADA PRUEBA EN ZUERA

Este fin de semana se ha disputado la primera prueba del Campeonato de España de Karting donde participa el piloto Malllorquín del equipo Diabolo Karting, Alex Palerm.
El joven piloto acudía con ilusión a esta primera carrera del nacional y el equipo trabajó duro desde los entrenamientos del jueves para poner a punto el kart, aunque debido a problemas mecánicos la clasificatoria no fue la esperada, Palerm debia partir desde el decimoquinto puesto.
En la primera manga carrera Palerm lograba escalar posiciones y finalizaba decimotercero, lo que le hacía pensar que podría conseguir meterse dentro de los diez primeros para la final.
Lamentablemente la segunda manga fue algo más accidentada al recibir un fuerte golpe que le dejaba fuera de carrera y con la dirección de su kart seriamente tocada.
El equipo reparaba el kart y se disponía a darlo todo en la manga final de carrera, pero cuando tan sólo se habia dado un giro al trazado de Zuera, el mismo participante de la manga anerior volvía a golpear el coche de Palerm, esta vez destrozando todo el lateral del kart y volvíendo a doblar la dirección y dejándolo fuera de carrera.
Un fin de semana duro pero intenso donde el equipo suma experiencia y el piloto se ha visto enfrentado con algunas de ls más duras situaciones de carrera que aprenderá a resolver en las siguientes pruebas.

El balear Joan Perelló se ha clasificado en la 30ª posición, tras finalizar la sesión de clasificación de 125GP, con un tiempo de 1′52.262, un segundo y medio más rápido del crono conseguido en las sesiones de libres del viernes. El piloto del Matteoni Racing está participando en el G.P. de España de Motociclismo que se está celebrando en el Circuito de Jerez de la Frontera este fin de semana, del 1 al 3 de abril, y que cumple su 25 aniversario.

unque hoy sábado ha hecho un día prácticamente veraniego, las previsiones para mañana son de agua. Esperemos que, como la carrera de 125GP es la primera de la jornada (a las 11h), podamos realizar una carrera “en seco”.

Joan Perelló: “Todavía hay que trabajar mucho en la Aprilia para conseguir los tiempos que puedo hacer. Los frenos es uno de los elementos a los que me está costando más adaptarme, pero estoy convencido que con un poco más de tiempo terminaré acostumbrándome a ellos. Si hubiera conseguido el tiempo del 2010, hubiera estado entre los 20 primeros, luchando por los puntos, que es mi principal objetivo en mi primer año completo en el Mundial.”

Daniel Juncadella sorgt für zweiten Prema-Sieg in Le Castellet

Das dritte Rennen der Formel 3 Euro Serie auf der ehemaligen Grand-Prix-Strecke im südfranzösischen Le Castellet ging an Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam). Der Spanier gewann auf dem 5,791 Kilometer langen Circuit Paul Ricard mit 0,955 Sekunden Vorsprung vor Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam). Damit übernahm Juncadella auch die Führungsposition in der Gesamtwertung der Formel 3 Euro Serie. Marco Wittmann (Signature) wurde als Dritter abgewinkt.
Daniel Juncadella hatte ab der ersten Runde Rang zwei inne und folgte seinem führenden Teamkollegen Roberto Merhi. Im 15. von 19 Umläufen griff Juncadella seinen spanischen Landsmann an und konnte ihn überholen. Wenig später feierte er den zweiten Euro-Serie-Sieg seiner Karriere auf der Strecke, auf der er im vergangenen Jahr bei seinem Formel-3-Debüt bereits mit einer Pole-Position überraschte.
Hinter den beiden von Mercedes-Motoren angetriebenen Prema-Piloten reihte sich bei strahlendem Sonnenschein der amtierende Vize-Champion Marco Wittmann als bester Volkswagen-Fahrer ein. Ihm folgte Nigel Melker (Mücke Motorsport) als schnellster Rookie im Feld, der am Samstag bereits Lauf eins in Le Castellet für sich entscheiden konnte.
Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam): „Drei mal auf dem Podest an einem Wochenende ist ein perfekter Start in die Saison. Aber ich bin sicher, dass die anderen Teams aufholen werden und es über die Saison sicher nicht einfach wird. Das Überholmanöver gegen Roberto Merhi war eng, aber es hat gepasst.“
Roberto Merhi (Prema Powerteam): „Danis Überholmanöver gegen mich war nicht schwierig, denn er kam aus dem Windschatten. Trotzdem ist er ein sehr gutes Rennen gefahren. Für uns als Team ist das Ergebnis mit Platz eins und zwei natürlich klasse.“
Marco Wittmann (Signature): „Am Schluss des Rennens hatte ich ein paar Probleme mit abbauenden Reifen. Aber auch vorher waren die beiden Prema-Piloten schneller als wir. Wir müssen nun sowohl an unserer Renn- als auch an der Qualifying-Performance arbeiten, denn Prema ist uns im Moment einen Schritt voraus.“

Pescarolo wins the Le Castellet 6 Hours on his return to the Le Mans Series

Henri Pescarolo’s team made a triumphant comeback to endurance racing by winning on its first outing in 2011. Emmanuel Collard, Christophe Tinseau and Julien Jousse took first place in the event on the Paul Ricard HTTT circuit. Greaves Motorsport won the LM P2 category and finished on the third step of the overall podium. JMW Motorsport, Felbermayr-Proton and Pegasus Racing carried off the spoils in the other categories.
