Albert Coll, a por otro buen resultado en Ibiza

El piloto mallorquín, Albert Coll, acude este próximo fin de semana de nuevo a la isla de Ibiza, donde se celebrará la 3ª prueba puntuable para el Campeonato Balear de karting 2010.
Albert, que obtuvo la pole y ganó las dos mangas de carrera hace tan sólo tres semanas en el mismo circuito de Sa Coma (Ibiza), es optimista, pensando que puede volver a sumar otra buena actuación.
El piloto mallorquín, mantendrá el mismo reglaje de chasis, y motor con el que obtuvo la victoria en la pasada carrera, confiando en mejorar los tiempos, teniendo en cuenta que tendrá un mejor conocimiento de la pista.
Albert comentaba:
“Podemos mejorar las prestaciones de nuestro kart, pero lo haremos de cara a la siguiente carrera, que se celebrará en mallorca en las instalaciones del Circuito Mallorca Renn Arena, uno de nuestros principales colaboradores”.
ALEX PALERM ESPERA RECUPERAR EN IBIZA

Alex Palerm participará este fin de semana en la tercera prueba puntuable para el Campeonato de Baleares de Karting que se celebrará en la vecina isla de Ibiza. Organizada nuevamente por el Motor Club Sant Rafael Pitius, esta prueba contará con un buen número de inscritos.
Tras perderse la prueba anterior del Campeonato, el joven Palerm acude a esta cita con muchas ganas de cumplir objetivos y sumar puntos para recuperar su posición y seguir luchando por el título Balear.
Sus progresos como piloto y su gran momento de forma, hacen que esta temporada sea muy importante para Alex. Entrenando mejor que nunca y mejorando rendimiento en cada prueba que realiza, el equipo Diabolo Karting sabe que este 2010 será un gran año para Palermm.

Monte Carlo decision delights IRC champion Meeke

Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Kris Meeke says the decision of the Automobile Club de Monaco to continue its relationship with the IRC for a third season is "great news" for the Eurosport Events-promoted series.
The 2011 IRC season will get underway on the world-famous rally from Wednesday 19 January to Saturday 23 January with next year’s event marking 100 years since the first Monte Carlo Rally took place on 21 January 1911.
Meeke said: "It’s great news and shows the Monte organisers like the style of how the IRC is approaching the sport by taking it back to its roots and encouraging amateurs and importers to take part. The TV coverage on Eurosport is second to none and for a driver the Monte is one of the biggest challenges in rallying, if not motorsport as a whole."
Full details of the route and several key features, including initiatives to encourage the participation of amateur drivers as well as live television coverage, will be announced later in the year. The ACM has confirmed the rally route will include 324 competitive kilometres over 13 stages.

Basso and Rossetti join bulging Madeira entry
Factory-supported Abarth drivers Giandomenico Basso and Luca Rossetti will return to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge on Rali Vinho Madeira next month.
The Italians have claimed numerous victories in the IRC with Basso winning the Tarmac-based Madeira event on three occasions, including last season when he defeated Bruno Magalhaes in a nail-biting finish.
Basso and Rossetti are among 19 drivers in Super 2000 machines for the island rally, which runs from 5-7 August and features almost 300 competitive kilometres over 21 special stages.
Other notable highlights on the 56-car entry are Skoda trio Juho Hanninen, Jan Kopecky and Freddy Loix, defending IRC champion Kris Meeke and Bruno Magalhaes, the winner of the last IRC round in the Azores.
Heading the list of local drivers is Bernardo Sousa at the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000. Miguel Campos, a former Madeira winner, will drive a similar car.
Turkish lady driver Burcu Cetinkaya will also be taking part after being forced to miss the trip to the Azores while her Peugeot Sport Turkey 207 was being repaired following her crash on the Geko Ypres Rally last month.

Trophy winner Magalhaes earns praise from Jim McRae
Jim McRae has praised Bruno Magalhaes after the Portuguese driver won the first Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy on Sata Rallye Acores last weekend.
The award, which is presented in memory of Jim McRae’s son Colin, will be handed to the most spectacular driver who best embodies the spirit of the rallying legend on rounds of the IRC.
It was conceived following the formation of an official partnership last month between Eurosport Events, the promoter of the IRC, and Colin McRae Vision, a charity established following the death of McRae, his young son Johnny and two family friends in a helicopter accident in 2007, which aims to improve health and education for children around the world.
"Even though he had good knowledge of the stages from before, he’s new to the IRC so to go at the pace he did obviously proves he’s got a load of talent," said Jim McRae. "I’m very pleased for him and it’s also a great thing to hear that Colin was his hero when he was growing up."
Silva secures latest Subaru Individual Award
Sergio Silva has won the latest Subaru Individual Award following his eighth-place finish on Sata Rallye Acores last weekend.
Silva, from Portugal, was one of five Subaru Impreza drivers contesting the gravel-based Intercontinental Rally Challenge qualifier on the Atlantic archipelago. Co-driven by Paulo Leal, Silva finished more than two minutes ahead of the next highest Subaru finishers, Paulo Rego and Abel Carreiro. The result also meant Silva secured one manufacturers’ point for Subaru, while also earning a drivers’ point for himself.
The Subaru Individual Award is presented on each of the 12 IRC rounds this year to the highest-placed Subaru finisher and demonstrates the support that Subaru is extending to its customer drivers in the IRC in 2010.
Olivier Burri (Monte Carlo), Juan San Martin (Curitiba), Gabriel Pozzo (Argentina), Jose Barrios (Canary Islands), Teemu Arminen (Sardinia) and Florian Gonon (Ypres) are the other Subaru Individual Award winners so far this season.

EXHIBICIÓN DE MARCÓ EN MALLORCA

José Luis Marcó (Porsche 911 2.2T) recupera el liderato de las RallyClassics Series "Saunier Duval" 2010, tras una auténtica exhibición de Regularidad, al ganar ambas mangas, y con un resultado final espectacular: tan solo 13 décimas de penalización en las 20 vueltas al divertido circuito RennArena de Mallorca.
El ingeniero de Blunik, Josep Mª Carreras (Golf), ocupó con mucho mérito la segunda plaza del podio, sin nadie que le asistiera en el muro de pizarras. Y el jovencísimo Albert García (Seat 124 BlackPoint) quedó tercero, lo que le coloca a espaldas de Marcó en el Campeonato, que tras la disputa de esta cuarta prueba, queda así:
1º JL Marcó (Porsche 2.2T) 88 puntos; 2º Albert Garcia (Seat 124) 72,5 p.; 3º Josep-Pere Codorniu (Opel Manta Sauier Duval) 71 p.; 4º Xavi-David Boné (Seat 128) 70,5 p.; 5º J.Mª Carreras (Golf) 64 p.

Las altas temperaturas y un calor asfixiante, los grandes protagonistas
Un paso atrás
Mora d’Ebre (Tarragona, Cataluña) lunes 19 de julio de 2010.
La sexta cita del Campeonato de Cataluña de Karting reunió en el trazado de Mora d’Ebre a un total de veintisiete pilotos en la categoría Alevín. Enfrascados en pleno verano, fue una locura de carrera con altas temperaturas que hicieron mella en más de un participante.
Miguel Socías se las prometía muy felices, pero tras su primera sesión de entrenamientos libres, la cosa cambiaba, un trazado muy rápido y a la vez técnico, unido a unas condiciones extremas desmotivaron al balear que notó la falta de entrenamiento en la pista de la ribera del Ebro.
En los cronometrados del sábado todo apuntaba que iba a estar en su puesto entre los quince primeros, pero Socías erraba al carburar y a partir del quinto giro el motor se venía abajo al tener una mezcla muy pobre. De ahí que su mejor registro lo marcaría en la cuarta vuelta. Un tiempo excesivamente discreto para el mallorquín que se clasificaba en la vigésima tercera posición.
El domingo el equipo hizo una serie de cambios para intentar lo imposible. Pero de poco sirvieron los esfuerzos de los mecánicos, saliendo tan atrás se vio metido de lleno en una guerra sin cuartel con un pelotón que nadie quería cerrar debiendo de conformarse con terminar décimo noveno entre los alevines.
La segunda carrera fue más de lo mismo un desilusionado Socías cabizbajo por estar tan retrasado tiró antes de la cuenta la toalla, y para colmo en esta contienda cuando intentaba irse hacia adelante era golpeado en la parte de atrás trompeando y quedando en la última posición. El piloto del Grupo Puma recuperó algunos puestos, pero tras alcanzar al primer pelotón no mostró esa energía que es habitual en él, y dio por bueno acabar en el vigésimo lugar.
Miguel Socías apuntaba tras concluir la carrera:
"No hay excusas, hoy he sido yo el que he fallado, el equipo lo ha intentado todo, pero yo no he estado a la altura de las circunstancias. Desde el principio no me he encontrado cómodo en este circuito, no sé si es por la falta de entrenamiento, o por el calor reinante, pero a las primeras de cambio me he venido abajo. Siento que he perdido una oportunidad, hoy he dado un paso atrás en mi meta de quedar entre los diez primeros del campeonato, espero poder recuperar los puestos perdidos en la próxima prueba."

MAGALHAES WINS FIRST COLIN MCRAE IRC FLAT OUT TROPHY

Magalhaes was handed the prestigious award by a panel of judges consisting of IRC’s Motorsport Development Manager Jean-Pierre Nicolas, Gilbert Roy, Eurosport Events’ Director of Editorial and Programme Development, and Colin’s father Jim McRae.
It followed his maiden IRC victory on last weekend’s Sata Rallye Acores when the 30-year-old doggedly fought back from a gearbox fault in his Peugeot Sport Portugal-run 207 Super 2000 to regain first place on the final stage of the challenging gravel event. Kris Meeke, who battled several punctures to finish second, and Andreas Mikkelsen, who recovered from a scary moment when he encountered a herd of cows to claim fourth were shortlisted for the award.
"It’s a pleasure to give this trophy to Bruno," said Nicolas. "After discussing with Jimmy McRae and Gilbert Roy we decided in this rally the fighting spirit of Colin was best shown by Bruno who has done a really fantastic rally. We hope he will fight again on the next rally to compete for the second trophy."
After accepting the award from Nicolas, Magalhaes said: "It’s a big honour for me because Colin is my hero. He was the driver who impressed me the most. I remember him in Rally of Portugal in 1999 when he won the first two special stages by one minute over the other guys and won the rally. He was incredible so for me it’s an honour to receive this gift because Colin is a hero."

The Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy will be presented on all remaining rounds of the IRC with an end of season trophy, the Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Driver of the Year, also being awarded at the IRC’s end of season award ceremony.
It was conceived following the formation of an official partnership last month between Eurosport Events, the promoter of the IRC, and Colin McRae Vision, a charity established following the death of the 1995 world rally champion, his young son Johnny and two family friends in a helicopter accident in 2007, which aims to improve health and education for children around the world.
Eurosport Events and Colin McRae Vision will work with organisers of selected rounds of the IRC to identify suitable projects and initiatives that help young people. They will also work with the IRC’s partners, manufacturers and drivers to promote the efforts of Colin McRae Vision and increase the levels of exposure and support, with regular updates on the IRC website (www.rally-irc.com), in the IRC newsletter and during television coverage of IRC rounds.
The 2010 IRC season continues with Rali Vinho Madeira, round eight of the series, from 5-7 August when the next Colin McRae IRC Flat Out Trophy will be presented.

UNA PRUEBA PARA OLVIDAR

Este fin de semana se ha disputado en Mora d’Ebre, la quinta prueba puntuable para el Campeonato de Cataluña de Karting donde participa el piloto mallorquín Alex Palerm dentro de la categoría Junior.
Los entrenamientos libres ya fueron complicados para el equipo Diabolo karting, que no lograba la puesta a punto ideal y el joven Palerm se situaba a 6 décimas del pole. Pero los problemas de verdad estaban todavía por llegar, en la tanda cronometrada y antes de poder dar la primera vuelta, el motor del FA se quedaba sin aceite y rompía con las opciones de Palerm que no pudo volver a la tanda ni participar en la primera carrera que se disputaba el mismo sábado tras los entrenamientos cronometrados.
En la primera carrera del domingo y partiendo desde el final de la parrilla, Palerm realizaba una dura carrera en la que tuvo que remontar hasta cinco pilotos en 14 vueltas para alcanzar la octava plaza final.
En la salida de la segunda manga de carrera se produjo el gran susto de la jornada, nada más salir, un kart pasaba por encima literalmente de Palerm, doblándole el volante y golpeando la mano y la pierna. Por suerte el joven Alex se encuentra bien y las protecciones hicieron su trabajo, solo un rasguño en la mano como "herida de guerra" pero este gran susto ha servido como punto final a un fin de semana para olvidar en Mora d’Ebre.
Juan Palerm, Jefe del equipo comentaba: "Estábamos convencidos de sacar un bien resultado aqui este fin de semana, pero los problemas que hemos sufrido son impredecibles y como siempre decimos, así son las carrreras. Por suerte la próxima semana tenemos otra prueba y podremos recuperar el ánimo y las fuerzas para seguir luchando."

Gute Punkteausbeute für Wissel in Zolder

Das Qualifying am Samstag beendete Max Wissel auf dem dritten Platz. Der Deutsche schaffte es zunächst sich in der Vorrunde durchzusetzen und im Viertelfinale Craig Dolby (Tottenham Spur) zu schlagen. Im Halbfinale musste er sich allerdings Chris van der Drift (Olympiacos) geschlagen geben. "Der dritte Platz ist okay. Ich bin schnell in Zolder und freue mich auf die Rennen", sagte der 20-Jährige."Ich hoffe auf Regen, die Wettervorhersage sieht allerdings nicht danach aus", so Wissel weiter. Untersteuern und ein Fehler im zweiten Sektor ruinierten ihm die Runde. "Normalerweise bin ich im zweiten Sektor schneller als Chris. Im dritten Sektor ist Chris schneller und im ersten sind wir auf dem gleichen Level", so Wissel.
Der erhoffte Regen blieb heute aus. Bei strahlendem Sonnenschein sicherte sich Max Wissel im ersten Rennen Platz sieben und kletterte im zweiten Rennen mit dem vierten Platz fast auf das Podest. Im Super Finale fuhr er mit dem sechsten Platz eine Menge Preisgeld ein. Mit 360 Punkten liegt der FC Basel Pilot auf der vierten Position im Gesamtklassement.
Rennen 1: Start-Ziel-Sieg für Chris van der Drift
Mit der Pole-Position schaffte sich Chris van der Drift gestern die besten Siegchancen. Diese ließ er sich heute beim ersten Rennen der Superleague Formula in Zolder nicht mehr nehmen. Ein gelungener Start und perfekter Boxenstopp verschafften dem Niederländer, der für den griechischen Fußballverein Olympiacos startet, den insgesamt vierten Sieg. Davide Rigon (RSC Anderlecht) wurde Zweiter und Robert Doornbos (Corithians) feierte mit dem dritten Platz seinen ersten Podestplatz.
Den Start entschied der Pole Setter Van der Drift für sich. Dahinter konnten Rigon und Doornbos ihre Startplätze zwei und drei gekonnt verteidigen. Der Startgewinner war Craig Dolby (Tottenham Spur), der von der sechsten Startposition ins Rennen ging und nach wenigen Metern hinter Doornbos auf Position vier lag. Max Wissel, der vom dritten Platz startete, musste sich hinter Dolby in der fünften Position einreihen.
Bis zu den Boxenstopps veränderte sich an der Spitze nichts. Van der Drift und Rigon steuerten als Erste die Box an. Beide Teams machten einen fehlerfreien Job und schickten ihre Piloten auf schnellstem Wege wieder zurück auf die Strecke. Chris van der Drift führte weiterhin das Feld vor Rigon und Doornbos an und ließ sich den Sieg bis zum Ende des Rennens nicht mehr nehmen.
Die Mannschaft von Yelmer Buurman ( AC Mailand) leistete hervorragenede Arbeit, womit sich der Niederländer nach dem Boxenstopp auf den fünften Platz schob. Danach kam Buurman in Fahrt und bremste sich in einem geschickten Manöver an Dolby vorbei. Er sicherte bis zum Ende des Rennens den vierten Platz.
Max Wissel verlor nach dem Boxenstopp einige Plätze. Hinter Dolby und Buurman verfolgte er den Zweikampf der beiden aus nächster Nähe. Nachdem sich der Niederländer an Dolby vorbei bremste, musste Wissel vom Gas gehen, woraufhin James Walker (FC Liverpool) mit mehr Schwung aus der Kurve herausgehen konnte und den sechsten Platz übernahm. Der Deutsche beendete das erste Rennen hinter Dolby und Walker auf dem siebten Platz.
Rennen 2: Erster Sieg für Julien Jousse
Die erste Pole-Position holte der Franzose beim letzten Lauf am Nürburgring, konnte das Rennen allerdings nicht für sich entscheiden. Im zweiten Lauf sicherte sich der AS Rom-Pilot seinen ersten Sieg in der Superleague Formula. Duncan Tappy (Flamengo) und Tristan Gommendy (Galatasaray) übernahmen mit den Rängen zwei und drei die weiteren Podestplätze.
In der Startphase ging es ordentlich zur Sache. Der Polesitter Duncan Tappy (Flamengo) und die Spitzengruppe bekamen nicht viel von dem Getümmel im hinteren Teil des Feldes mit. Während des fliegenden Starts krachte es auf der Start- und Zielgeraden, woraufhin eine Safety-Car Phase eingeleitet wurde. James Walker fuhr in das Heck von Marcos Martinez, der draufhin nach links zog. Leidtragende war Craig Dolby, der in den FC Sevilla Bolide krachte. Für den Briten war das Rennen beendet, bevor es eigentlich losging. Ohne Heckflügel hatte Marcos Martinez nicht mehr die Kontrolle über sein Fahrzeug und fuhr in der ersten Kurve in Robert Doornbos, dessen Boliden in die Luft stieg und sich überschlug. Glücklicherweise überstand Doornbos den Unfall unbeschadet.
Nachdem das Rennen wieder freigegeben wurde, gewann der Führende Duncan Tappy den Re-Start und konnte sich absetzen. Julien Jousse (AS Rom) und Maria de Villota (Atletico Madrid) folgten dem Franzosen auf den Plätzen zwei und drei. Der FC Basel Pilot Max Wissel erwischte einen ebenso guten Start und konnte auf den achten Platz nach vorne fahren.
Tappy und Jousse lieferten sich kurz nach der Halbzeit des Rennens den entscheidenden Kmapf um die Führung. Ausschlaggebend waren die Boxenstopps. Die Flamengo Mannschaft von Tappy machte zwar einen guten Job, allerdings nicht gut genug. Jousse steuerte die Box an, der einen Tick früher zurück auf die Strecke kam. Die entscheidenden Meter Vorsprung reichten dem Franzosen die Führung zu übernehmen.
Dahinter duellierten sich die Piloten um die verbleibenden Plätze. Bis kurz vor Ende des Rennens hatte Alvaro Parente (FC Porto) den dritten Platz sicher vor Augen. Tristan Gommendy erbte jedoch den letzten Podestplatz, nachdem der Potugiese fünf Minuten vor Ende des Rennen aufgrund technischer Probleme aufgeben musste.
Auf den Plätzen vier und fünf lauerten Max Wissel und Yelmer Buurman, die zwar an den Drittplatzierten heranfahren konnten, aber keinen Weg an ihm vorbei fanden.
Mit einer ordentlichen Punkteausbeute schob sich Yelmer Buurman an Craig Dolby vorbei und übernimmt somit die Führung im Gesamtklassement.
Das Super Finale
Den Sieg im Super Finale und somit 100.000 Euro gingen dieses Mal an Davide Rigon (RSC Anderlecht). Zwar startete Chris van der Drift von der besten Startposition ins Rennen, gab diese allerdings schon nach wenigen Metern ab. Dritter wurde der Sieger des zweiten Rennens, Julien Jousse. Max Wissel wurde Sechster.
Eng bounces back with Brands Hatch victory

Austrian takes third win of season while Stoneman and Palmer collide
Philipp Eng claimed his third victory of the season at Brands Hatch in a race that will also be remembered for a clash between championship rivals Jolyon Palmer and Dean Stoneman.
Starting from second, Eng kept position away from the line as polesitter Kazim Vasiliauskas began to edge into the distance. Behind the lead duo Jolyon Palmer had come from fifth to third, with Dean Stoneman also moving up from seventh on the grid into fifth.
Gladdis and Stoneman traded places on two occasions during the opening lap, with Stoneman eventually getting into fourth around the outside at Surtees.
The key moment of the race happened on lap four when Stoneman tried to dive down the inside of Palmer at Paddock Hill Bend. As Stoneman drew alongside, the pair’s front wheels touched and Palmer was fired off into the gravel and out of the race.
Stoneman continued but the incident allowed Tom Gladdis to slip by and back into third, which became second at the halfway stage of the race as race leader Kazim Vasiliauskas retired with gearbox issues.
The front trio remained separated by less than 1.5s for the remainder of the race, with Gladdis coming under the most pressure as Stoneman attempted a late pass. The young Briton had kept six of his eight boosts in reserve however, allowing him to hang on to take second - his best ever result in Formula Two.
Eng ultimately profited from the squabble behind, eventually finishing half a second clear - which was as comfortable a margin as the Austrian had enjoyed throughout the 24 lap contest.
Behind Gladdis and Stoneman, Will Bratt put the seal on another solid weekend with a relatively quiet drive to fourth. Nicola De Marco headed a gaggle of cars in the fight for fifth as the Italian confirmed his return to form by completing his second double-points scoring weekend in a row.
Despite briefly moving into third off the line, Sergey Afanasiev ran wide at Hawthorn on the opening lap during a battle with Palmer and the Russian was quickly shuffled down the order. The Lukoil-backed racer recovered, but could only manage sixth at the finish.
Mihai Marinescu held a one second advantage over Armaan Ebrahim to claim seventh while Briton Jack Clarke improved five positions during the race to finish ninth.
Ivan Samarin scored the final championship point in tenth, completing his best ever weekend in Formula Two after scoring his maiden podium yesterday.
The stewards are investigating the Stoneman/Palmer incident but, as it stands, Stoneman has moved into a ten point championship lead while Eng’s win means he jumps Will Bratt and moves back into third overall.

WTCC: ROUNDS 11 & 12 - BRANDS HATCH RACE REPORT

ONE APIECE FOR MULLER AND PRIAULX
Yvan Muller and Andy Priaulx claimed one victory apiece at Brands Hatch in two extremely close races that also launched Colin Turkington as the rising star in the WTCC heaven.
In Race 1 Muller and Rob Huff gave Chevrolet a 1-2 finish ahead of Turkington who managed to steal third place from Alain Menu’s third Cruze, while Gabriele Tarquini scored important points finishing fourth and Priaulx obtained an eighth place that eventually proved crucial for the rest of the day.
Priaulx won the second race starting from pole position on the reverse grid. Turkington made another step forward claiming a brilliant second place from Tarquini, with Muller in fifth.
After a difficult beginning to his home weekend, Priaulx jumped from zero to hero, recovering from a 10 position grid penalty that had demoted him to 16th at the start of Race 1 to the highest step of the podium.
The championship fight is also very close. Muller leads with 199 points and has a margin of 23 over Tarquini, while Priaulx is a further 30 points behind. And Huff cannot be discounted, lying 69 points behind the leader.
Thanks to the 33 points he scored in the overall championship and the additional points for the category’s pole position and fastest laps, Turkingon made a giant leap forward in the Independents’ Trophy. After only four races, the Ulsterman is second, 11 points behind Sergio Hernández.
Norbert Michelisz won both races in the Rookie Challenge and ousted Fredy Barth from the lead.
The championship will resume for rounds 13 and 14 at Brno, Czech Republic, on August 1st.

PALERM ESPERA CONFIRMAR SU PROGRESO EN MORA D’EBRE

Alex Palerm participará este fin de semana en la quinta prueba puntuable para el Campeonato de Cataluña de Karting en la categoría Junior.
Esta prueba, al igual que la anterior, volverá a tener 3 mangas puntuables de carrera, para compensar el fiasco ocurrido en la prueba de Juneda con el suministrador de neumáticos.
Alex acude a esta prueba con la moral muy alta, después de haber logrado en la prueba anterior tres pódiums, tres segundos puestos más la pole position que le aportaron una buena cantidad de puntos de cara al Campeonato.
El trazado de Mora es un viejo conocido del piloto mallorquín, ya que ha disputado ya varias pruebas en el y el equipo ha aprendido mucho de esta pista, donde la temperatura es el elemento más importante a tener en cuenta para la puesta a punto del kart.
Las tandas libres de entrenamientos comenzarán el sábado a las 9:20 y la tanda cronometrada a las 16:30. El mismo sábado a la 18:40 h. se disputará la primera manga de carrera y el domingo las dos mangas restantes.
Esta carrera será la última antes del parón veraniego ya que la siguiente prueba se disputará ya en el mes de octubre en Alcarrás.
El objetivo del equipo es conseguir colocarse entre los tres primeros del Campeonato y seguir mejorando para dar el salto la próxima temporada a Competiciones Internacionales.

Adria International Raceway neu im DTM-Kalender 2010

Wiesbaden. Die DTM gibt 2010 nun auch in Italien Gas. Die populärste internationale Tourenwagenserie ergänzt ihren bestehenden Kalender um einen Lauf und trägt am 31. Oktober 2010 ein Rennen auf dem Adria International Raceway aus. Das Rennen auf dem modernen Kurs vor den Toren Venedigs wird der zehnte von elf Läufen der DTM Saison 2010. Vier Wochen später, am 28. November, folgt dann das DTM Finale auf dem Stadtkurs in der chinesischen Metropole Shanghai.
Das Gastspiel an der Adria ist nicht das erste der DTM; bereits 2003 und 2004 wurden DTM-Wertungsläufe auf dem Adria International Raceway ausgetragen. Im Premierenjahr siegte der Niederländer Christijan Albers (Mercedes-Benz), während im Jahr 2004 der spätere Titelträger Mattias Ekström (Audi) das Rennen auf dem kompakten Kurs für sich entscheiden konnte.
Der Adria International Raceway wurde 2002 eröffnet. Als besonderes Merkmal gilt das überdachte Fahrerlager: In einer überdimensionalen Halle fahren die Team-Lkw direkt an die hinteren Eingänge der Boxen. Mit vier Kurven pro Kilometer ist die italienische Rennstrecke die kurvenreichste im aktuellen DTM Kalender. Der 2,702 km kurze Kurs kombiniert enge Schikanen mit 180 Grad-Kehren. Jedes Mal aufs Neue heißt es für die Fahrer: brutal bremsen, optimal einlenken und früh wieder beschleunigen.
Fünf der aktuellen DTM-Piloten kennen die italienische Strecke bereits aus den Jahren 2003 und 2004: Mercedes-Benz-Pilot Gary Paffett und die Audi-Piloten Mattias Ekström, Timo Scheider, Martin Tomczyk und Markus Winkelhock. „Schlüsselstellen sind vor allem die Haarnadelkurven. Hier muss man den optimalen Bremspunkt finden und dann so viel Geschwindigkeit wie möglich mit auf die Geraden nehmen“, erinnert sich Martin Tomczyk, der 2004 das Rennen als Achter beendete.

HANNINEN EDGES CLOSE FIGHT IN THE AZORES

Two tenths of a second will cover the top three cars when Sata Rallye Acores, round seven of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, resumes tomorrow (Friday). After the opening three stages, title leader Juho Hanninen holds a 0.2s advantage over Bruno Magalhaes with Andreas Mikkelsen tied on time with the Portuguese driver. The trio claimed a stage victory apiece as the gravel event on the Atlantic archipelago got off to a thrilling start.
Magalhaes, running fourth on the road in his Peugeot Sport Portugal 207 Super 2000, capitalised on the slightly cleaner road surface he encountered to go fastest on the opening stage. Although he admitted to making a few mistakes on the next test, which Hanninen won, he still maintained his overall advantage. However, he said that he was too hesitant over a jump on the day-closing superspecial stage, which allowed Hanninen to move in front.
Hanninen, tackling the stages second on the road behind IRC champion Kris Meeke, said he was surprised to have gone fastest on stage two after reporting a slippery stage surface due to the loose gravel. He attempted to counter this by carrying two spare BFGoodrich tyres in his Skoda Motorsport Fabia S2000, which he said had helped the balance of his car.
Running sixth on the road, Mikkelsen said he had struggled through stage two after being forced to make his pacenotes for the test during the fog-hit reconnaissance on Tuesday, but was otherwise delighted with his performance in his M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000 after recording his first stage win in the IRC.
Jan Kopecky is fourth overnight and will hope that his Skoda Motorsport mechanics will be able to plug a small hole in his Fabia S2000, which ingested clouds of dust during the opening stage, as well as repairing a broken clutch, which faltered seconds before the start of the superspecial stage.
Bernardo Sousa, the current Portuguese championship leader, completed leg one in fifth overall and will therefore start first on Friday’s second leg after the top five places are reversed to determine the new running order. He had trailed Meeke after the first stage but moved ahead of Meeke on stage two when the Northern Irishman dropped time in his Peugeot UK 207.
Meeke described driving first on the road through the loose coating of surface gravel as "impossible", while co-driver Paul Nagle admitted they feared they had picked up two punctures on stage one after running wide and clouting some rocks.
"You could see the times of the guys running further back were much faster than those running up front and that was definitely the case for me," said Meeke, who is sixth on the road for day two and well-placed to capitalise thanks to his superior starting position. "It was so easy to make a mistake because it was just so slippery."
Azores rally champion Ricardo Moura suffered an early blow when he picked up a puncture six kilometres from the end of the opening 14.9-kilometre stage in his Ralliart Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. He’s ninth overnight behind Pedro Peres and Vitor Pascoal. Pedro Vale completes the top 10 in his Lancer.
Brazilian Rafael Tulio heads the IRC 2WD Cup runners in his Peugeot 206 with Carlos Oliveira next up in a similar car.
Friday’s leg consists of nine stages, the first of which, Batalha Golfe, gets underway at 10:03hrs local time.

Andreas Mikkelsen (Norway), M-Sport Ford Fiesta S2000, third overall: "I decided to have a lot of fun on the superspecial and it worked very well for me. I don’t think we can push too much more but I am very satisfied with what we have achieved today."

Halbzeit in der Superleague Formula by Sonangol

Die Halbzeit der Superleague Formula rückt näher: Im belgischen Zolder starten 17 Piloten am kommenden Wochenende (16. bis 18 Juli) in die sechste Runde.
Nach fünf von zwölf Runden ist im Kampf um die Meisterschaft weiterhin alles offen. Alle Fahrer haben noch immer die Chance auf den begehrten Titel der Superleague Formula. Der zu schlagende Mann heißt Craig Dolby, der für die Tottenham Hotspurs an den Start geht. Seit seinem gelungenen Auftakt in Silverstone, bei dem er das erste Rennen und das Super Finale gewinnen konnte, gab er die Meisterschaftsführung nicht mehr ab. Obwohl der 22-Jährige bei den vergangenen Rennen des Öfteren auf dem Podium stand, konnte er seither nur einen weiteren Sieg einfahren. Was zählt sind Punkte - mit 370 Zählern hat er die meisten und somit die Nase im Gesamtklassement vorne.
Dahinter lauert Yelmer Buurman, gemeinsam mit dem AC Mailand, der momentan zur Bestform aufläuft und die Konkurrenz hinter sich lässt. Die Erfolgswelle des Niederländers nimmt kein Ende, so dass er die Lücke zum Erstplatzierten von Rennen zu Rennen verkleinert. Buurmans vier Siege lassen Dolbys Vorsprung auf 30 Punkte schmelzen.
Mit 297 Punkten komplettiert Max Wissel gemeinsam mit dem FC Basel die Top-3. Davide Rigon ist der Viertplatzierte und hofft, den Heimvorteil des RSC Anderlecht in Zolder nutzen zu können. 2008 ging er im Premierenjahr der Superleague Formula als Meister hervor und will nach einem schwierigen letzten Jahr, diese Saison wieder ganz vorne mitmischen. Ein Doppelsieg in Assen und konstante Punkteränge lassen dem Italiener weiterhin alle Titelambitionen offen.
Der Aufwärtstrend von Olympiacos-Fahrer Chris van der Drift, dem Teamkollegen von Wissel, hält weiter an. Zweimal hintereinander gewann der Niederländer das Super Finale und somit eine stolze Preisgeldsumme von 200.000 Euro. Und nicht nur das, in der Meisterschaft ist der beste Neueinsteiger Fünfter.
Sebastien Bourdais, der schon bei den vergangenen Rennen über Set-up Probleme klagte, wird in Zolder nicht an den Start gehen. Das Team versucht nun die Komplikationen am SF-Boliden auszumerzen.
Bisher gingen in der Saison 2010 neun unterschiedliche Sieger hervor. Mit einer maximalen Punkteausbeute von 106 Zählern pro Wochenende ist es schwer zu sagen, wer in Belgien oder gar am Ende des Jahres ganz oben auf dem Podest steht.
