Joan Perelló ha sido el mejor de los “wildcars” en Cheste

Hace pocos minutos ha terminado la sesión de clasificación en la categoría de 125cc del G.P. Premio de la Comunidad Valenciana, última prueba del calendario, donde participa el piloto mallorquín Joan Perelló, integrado en el Progama de Tecnificació de Motociclisme de la Escola Balear de lEsport. Después de realizar dos buenas sesiones de entrenos libres, el viernes y hoy sábado a primera hora de la mañana, se han efectuado los clasificatorios, en los que nuestro piloto ha mantenido la 26ª posición. No ha podido rebajar su tiempo de la mañana, pero con 1:44.264 sólo ha sido 130 milésimas de segundo más lento.

Otro dato significativo, que demuestra la continua evolución de este joven piloto, ha sido que ha precedido a todos los pilotos invitados, o wildcars, Alberto Moncayo y Iván Maestro, que además son dos pilotos que están ocupando las primeras posiciones en el CEV. Este dato nos permite ser, dentro de la prudencia, muy optimistas de cara a las dos próximas citas de Joan, precisamente en el CEV, el día 15 de noviembre en Jerez, y una semana más tarde en este mismo circuito de Valencia.

Mañana estaremos muy pendientes de la carrera, a ver si el piloto del SAG Castrol puede mejorar esta posición inicial.

Empieza el mejor Rally Costa Brava de la historia – Friday, November 06, 2009

Hoy viernes, 6 de noviembre de 2009, ha empezado el 57 Rally Costa Brava-Lloret de Mar, la penúltima prueba de los Campeonatos de Europa FIA de Vehículos Históricos, de España y de Catalunya de Rallyes, organizada por RallyClassics, edición que por calidad y cantidad de inscritos se erige como la mejor de toda su historia.

Una auténtica reunión de estrellas de los rallyes se dan cita en Lloret de Mar, empezando nada menos que por un bicampeón del Mundo (Walter Röhrl/Porsche), otros dos pilotos mundialistas (Jean Ragnotti/Alpine Renault y Andreas Mikkelsen/Skoda) y diversos Campeones de España, como Miguel Fuster (Porsche), Xevi Pons (Mitsubishi), Dani Solà (Mitsubishi) y Alberto Hevia (Skoda), junto al máximo favorito para el título nacional de este año, Sergio Vallejo (Porsche), completando una larga lista de 135 equipos.
Los participantes han tomado la salida para disputar la primera etapa, nocturna en su totalidad, empezando por los 65 coches del Campeonato de España y a continuación los 45 y 25 respectivos del Campeonato de Europa FIA Histórico y los participantes de Regularidad Sport. La segunda etapa, íntegramente diurna, se celebrará durante el sábado día 7.

El 57 Rally Costa Brava-Lloret de Mar está organizado por RallyClassics, que a su vez lo es de la versión histórica de esta carrera, que se disputa en marzo, así como del Rally d’Hivern, Volta a Catalunya y RallyClassics Series.

The inaugural RACMSA Rally of Scotland was treated to an all-star launch event in Glasgow this week, with three-time Formula One world champion Sir Jackie Stewart leading the way towards this years IRC grand finale.
Scotland has an amazing heritage when it comes to motor sport and rallying in particular, said Sir Jackie. Traditionally the RAC Rally was one of the biggest in the world and it went through England and Wales but it was Scotland that was the largest part, with probably the best special stages anywhere in the world.
Weve had world class rally drivers such as Andrew Cowan, Jimmy McRae and his sons Colin and Alister as well as great teams and great circuit racing drivers, so it is entirely fitting for Scotland to join the likes of Monte Carlo and Sanremo on the IRC calendar.
IRC series coordinator Xavier Gavory added: It is a great privilege for the IRC, in only its third full season, to start out in Monte Carlo back in January and to end the year on these legendary Scottish stages. This is the ideal event for our premier TV package, with four stages being broadcast live in their entirety.
Sir Jackie declared Scotland to be the best-kept secret in world travel and was upbeat about the positive effect the event would have on trade and tourism.
I think the importance of the Rally of Scotland is clear because the Scottish parliament has put its backing behind the event, he said. Im looking forward to watching the action in Stirling alongside our First Minister, Alex Salmond. We can project ourselves as Scots and as a tourism and business destination in a better way through sport and through the RACMSA Rally of Scotland.

Gould for BFGoodrich Drivers‘ Team in Scotland

English youngster Adam Gould has been offered the chance to break into the big time at the wheel of the BFGoodrich Drivers´ Team Peugeot 207 S2000 on the RACMSA Rally of Scotland.
21-year-old Gould was nominated by a panel of journalists from his home country by a landslide margin, and will represent Britain on its inaugural round of the IRC on November 19-21.
In a stirring season for the Kronos-prepared BFGoodrich car, it took victory on the Monte Carlo Rally in January with Sebastien Ogier at the wheel and has shown competitively with Thierry Neuville in Ypres, Martin Prokop in Zlin and Luca Cantamessa in Sanremo. For the final outing of the season, the BFGoodrich drive deservedly goes to the maturing talent of Gould, who contested this year’s British Rally Championship.
"This is absolutely fantastic news." said Gould. "I’ve got to say a big thanks to everybody who voted for me and assure them that I will do my absolute best when I get to the event. It’ll be a privilege to drive for Kronos and to represent the MSA and Kronos."

BRC Champion Cronin to make S2000 debut in Scotland

Keith Cronin will make his debut in a Super 2000 car on RACMSA Rally of Scotland.
Cronin, from Ireland, won this seasons British Rally Championship in a Ralliart Lancer E9. He had been due to use that car on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge finale but will instead switch to an Abarth Grande Punto S2000, run by the Italian Procar team. He was due to complete a test in Italy this week.
He said: Super 2000 is the way rallying is going in the future and I want to be a part of it. That means I need to drive a Super 2000 car as soon as possible. I could probably get a better result in my Ralliart because of my experience and I would like to have more time in one before Scotland but its a great opportunity for me and Ill be doing my best to make the most of it.

British legend savours ‚monster‘ Scottish stage

Rallying legend Jimmy McRae has described the final stage of RACMSA Rally of Scotland as a monster after driving through the route recently.
The five-time British Rally champion and father of 1995 WRC champion Colin McRae will see his youngest son Alister himself a former British and Asia-Pacific champion competing on the event in a Proton Satria Neo Super 2000. Looking forward to the event, McRae declared that the Loch Ard stage will be a major challenge for crews.
Totalling 33.52 kilometres, the stage will be used twice on Saturday November 21, once in the morning and once in the afternoon. It will be televised live throughout the Eurosport network.
McRae said: The organisers have found a true monster stage to create a sting in the tail and this will ensure the result will remain in doubt until the cars clear the stage.
The stage is medium narrow throughout on a good hard based surface but there will never be a time for the drivers to take a breather and their powers of concentration and fitness will be tested to the limit.

WTCC: ROUTE TO MACAU FOR THE LAST STOP

The clock is ticking for the 2009 FIA World Touring Car Championship. In less than two weeks the competitors will hit the track for the last two races of the season.
For the fifth consecutive year the final and deciding act will be staged on Macau’s infamous 6.1-km Guia street circuit. On Sunday 22^nd November two 9 lap races will consecrate the 2009 World Champion.
Three men are still in contention for the Drivers‘ crown: Gabriele Tarquini, Yvan Muller and Augusto Farfus. SEAT Sport’s Tarquini leads the classification with a two-point margin ahead of his team-mate Muller, the reigning champion. As for Farfus of BMW Team Germany, he lies third, 13 points behind Tarquini.
The Manufacturers‘ Championship is also at stake with SEAT – the 2008 winner – leading BMW by three points only.
In the previous five appearances of Super 2000 cars at Macau, including the 2004 Guia Race, BMW has won six races out of ten against Chevrolet’s three victories (including Huff’s and Menu’s in 2008) and Alfa Romeo’s one. SEAT still has to break its duck on the Guia circuit.
Jörg Müller, the only man to have won both the Macau Formula 3 Grand Prix and the Guia Race, claimed three of BMW’s six victories.

COUTO WITH SUNRED AT MACAU
Macau motorsport hero André Couto will join the SUNRED Engineering team for the WTCC final on his home racetrack. He will be at the wheel of the team’s third SEAT León car, alongside regulars Tom Coronel and Tom Boardman.
Couto, who won the 2000 F3 Macau Grand Prix and took pole position in the 2003 Macau Guia race with an N.technology Alfa Romeo 147, has become a regular competitor in the WTCC final at Macau. He took part in the 2005 and 2007 events with N.technology Alfa Romeo 156 cars; in 2006 he drove for SEAT Sport and last year again for N.technology at the wheel of a Honda Accord.
His best result so far has been a seventh position in 2006 Race 2 with a SEAT León.

CORONEL VS PORTEIRO FOR INDEPENDENTS‘ TITLE
The fight for the Independents‘ Trophy title seems restricted to Tom Coronel of SUNRED Engineering and Félix Porteiro of Proteam Motorsport. By winning pole position and the first race in Okayama and being classified third in the second race, Coronel stretched his lead by one point only, as the young Spaniard collected two second places in Japan.
The Dutchman’s advantage before the final meeting in Macau totals to 30 points, but with double points and possible bonuses for scoring in the overall classification to be awarded, anything is still possible.
Stefano D’Aste (Wiechers-Sport) and Franz Engstler (Liqui Moly Team) are out of contention and will focus on the battle for the third position, as they are split by five points only.

The destination of the 2009 Superleague Formula by Sonangol title will be decided in Jarama this weekend where Liverpools Adrian Valles and Tottenhams Craig Dolby go head-to-head for the crown.
The pair have been locked together at the top of the league in a fierce battle all season long with Valles having sat atop the standings since the opening weekend at Magny-Cours back in June where he won the first race and lucrative Super Final. Dolby meantime had to wait until the second round at Zolder before recording his first victory of 2009. Now, after five rounds and 13 races, its the Spaniard who heads the Briton by 49 points going into the final weekend where only one can be crowned champion. And both men are talking up their chances ahead of this Sundays showdown.
Adrian Valles: Im quite confident. Weve got a healthy advantage at the top but that doesnt mean we can relax because its a really tough championship to win. There are a lot of strong drivers out there who will be pushing hard. Its best to treat it like any other race and hope that things play out like normal. If I start thinking about pressure, trying to win or not crashing instead of racing as I usually would then thats the wrong mentality. Im just going to go there and try to do my best. The whole team is working hard for it.

Craig Dolby: All Adrian needs is a mechanical failure or to make a mistake and, if I have a good result, Im right back in it for the second race. In Estoril, where I was taken off in one of the races, I only got something like 28 points so if he has a weekend like that then it will be close. You never say never and as theres still a realistic chance of the title then I wont give up. If it wasnt for the problems in Portugal I think wed be within 10 points right now. Its going to be difficult, Ill admit that, but I can still see theres a chance there, especially as I think well be fast.
Statistically, the championship remains a four-horse race with Olympiacos and FC Basel 91 and 97 points adrift respectively. But with only a maximum 100 points still available, their chances appear slim, relying on Liverpool to suffer retirements in both races and requiring victories in each themselves.
After just the two races in Monza at the beginning of October, the Superleague weekend reverts back to its familiar and unique format of two feature races followed by a winner-takes-all Super Final. With the championship out of reach for the majority of the field, its a chance to end the season in style by picking up a 100,000 first prize. One man sure to feature is Sevillas Sebastien Bourdais who has already won twice in two rounds since joining Sevilla in Portugal while Olympiacos Esteban Guerrieri is another in red hot form. Antonio Pizzonia meanwhile will be looking to score his first win of the campaign despite already notching up three pole positions.
Sevilla might be amongst Spanish footballs finest but theres one club in particular local interest will focus on this weekend. The tight and twisty Circuito del Jarama lies just 30 minutes drive from the centre of the countrys capital so expect Los colchoneros to be out in force supporting Atletico Madrid and Maria de Villota.
In driver news, Brazilian Enrique Bernoldi returns for Flamengo after missing Monza while AS Roma hang on to Julien Jousse who impressed many with his raw pace and podium finish on debut in Italy.
All three races from Superleague Formulas final fixture of the season can be seen live on British Eurosport 2 (Sky Digital 411 and Virgin Media 525) this Sunday at 9am, 11.30am and 12.30pm (November 7/8).

Laurens Vanthoor: Motorsport und sonst nichts

Der Favorit ist seiner Rolle absolut gerecht geworden. Souverän, abgeklärt, zielstrebig und unnachgiebig hat er sein Ziel erreicht: Laurens Vanthoor ist der verdiente Champion des ATS Formel-3-Cup 2009. Die zweite Saison in der schnellsten deutschen Formel-Rennserie verlief nahezu perfekt. Elf Siege stehen nach 18 Rennen auf seinem Konto. Bereits auf dem Nürburgring, zwei Rennwochenende vor Saisonende, lag Vanthoor uneinholbar an der Spitze der Tabelle und sicherte sich seinen bislang wichtigsten Titel.
Mit seinen 18 Jahren ist Laurens Vanthoor damit der jüngste Meister des ATS Formel-3-Cup. Zudem holte er für Volkswagen den ersten Gesamtsieg einer Serie nach der Rückkehr des deutschen Herstellers in den Formel-3-Sport.
Der junge Belgier ist verdammt ehrgeizig und hat sein ganzes Leben auf den Motorsport und seine Karriere ausgerichtet. Ich habe kaum noch Privatleben. Alles dreht und konzentriert sich auf den Motorsport, macht Vanthoor deutlich, auch meine Familie und meine Freundin müssen da zurückstecken. Die Schule konnte das junge Talent noch beenden, doch für eine weitere Ausbildung bleibt ihm keine Zeit: Dafür fordert die Rennerei mich viel zu stark. Wenn man professionell an die Sache herangeht, ist man komplett eingespannt. Auch im Umfeld der Veranstaltungen sieht man Laurens Vanthoor hoch konzentriert und absolut auf den Job fokussiert. Er analysiert Daten, schwingt sich in der Zeit zwischen den Sessions aufs Rennrad oder betreibt anderen Ausgleichsport.
Doch auch zu Hause dreht sich bei Vanthoor in Gedanken alles um den Motorsport. Es kann schon mal passieren, dass sehr spät noch mein Handy klingelt, da er irgendeine Idee hatte, bestätigt sein Teamchef Frits van Amersfoort. So einen wie ihn hatte ich noch nie im Team. Läuft etwas nicht nach dem Plan des 18-Jährigen merkt man ihm seinen Ärger sofort an. Pole-Position und Sieg sind für ihn Pflicht, selbst ein zweiter Platz gilt für ihn als Niederlage.
Sein Patentrezept an den Rennwochenenden lautete: im Qualifying ganz vorne sein, einen guten Start hinlegen und so schnell wie möglich so viel Abstand wie möglich zwischen sich und seine Verfolger bringen. Meistens ging diese Strategie auch auf. Was aber auch zahlreiche Kritiker auf den Plan rief, die ihm gutes Zweikampfverhalten absprachen. Diese dürften jedoch spätestens am letzten Rennwochenende in Oschersleben verstummt sein, als er sich unter schwierigen Bedingungen und einem für ihn mittelmäßigen Qualifying zurück an die Spitze kämpfte.
In Volkswagen Motorsportchef Kris Nissen hat Laurens Vanthoor einen starken Förderer gefunden. Der Däne hatte im Winter auf seinen Schützling eingewirkt, ein zweites Jahr im ATS Formel-3-Cup zu absolvieren. Die nächste große Herausforderung wartet in der kommenden Saison: die Formel-3-Euroserie wartet auf einen hervorragenden und gut ausgebildeten Absolventen des ATS Formel-3-Cup.

Pocos días después de subir al podio en el Campeonato de Europa de 125cc, concretamente con el tercer puesto en el circuito de Albacete, el mallorquín Joan Perelló (SAG-Castrol/CTE/EBE) participará como invitado en el último Gran Premio de 2009, en el circuito Ricardo Tormo de la Comunitat Valenciana.

Ante sí tendrá una gran oportunidad de aprender y coger ritmo de cara a las dos últimas citas del CEV-2009 de 125cc, donde aspira en cada carrera a luchar por el cajón.

JOAN PERELLÓ: Una semana después de conseguir el tercer puesto en el Europeo de 125cc, un gran resultado para mi y todo el equipo, voy a participar como wild card en el Gran Premio de Valencia. El ritmo que he conseguido es perfecto y este último evento hará que mi nivel suba, ya que voy a tratar de ser como una esponja para absorber el máximo conocimiento de los grandes pilotos que hay en el Mundial. Mi objetivo es clasificarme para la carrera y acabarla. Es un gran reto para mí y mi equipo, el cual no dejará de trabajar al 100% como lo han hecho hasta ahora.

1. RALLYESPRINT SLICK QUEMADO.

Un total de 43 equipos tomaron parte en el segundo rallyesprint que organiza este año al Peña Slick Quemado y que se saldó con un nuevo éxito deportivo y de organización. Además los inscritos van aumentando carrera a carrera y poco a poco parece que todo regresa a la normalidad de hace unos años.

PRIMERA SECCIÓN.

La prueba estaba compuesta por dos tramos muy rápidos sobre todo el primero (Porreres-Llucmajor) donde se llegó a alcanzar una media de 125 kilómetros por hora. En este tramo se iniciaba una intensa lucha por la victoria con muchos candidatos. Así en la primera pasada José Martorell (Citroen Saxo) y José Luís Nigorra (Mitsubishi Evo V) marcaban el mismo scratch, mientras que Alberto San José (Clio Williams) y Mateu Fullana (Subaru Imprezza) empataban en el segundo mejor crono. A poca distancia les seguían un combativo grupo formado por Guillem Cuart (Peugeot 206) los Mitsus de David García y Sión Verger y el Clio Williams de Sebastián Galmés. Dani Lozano se situaba a continuación pero con problemas mecánicos que le obligaban al abandono. La segunda pasada volvía a ser coto privado para el Saxo de los Martorell colocándose a menos de dos segundos Mateu Fullana, Sebastián Galmés y José Luís Nigorra. Éste último apostaba fuerte en la tercera pasada y marcaba el scratch ante Martorell que era ahora segundo empatado con Alberto San José y Sebastián Galmés. Así la primera sección acababa con un empate en la primera plaza entre José Martorell y José Luís Nigorra. A cinco segundos Mateu Fullana era tercero y dominaba con claridad el grupo N. Muy cerca se situaba Alberto San José que se colocaba por delante de Sebastián Galmés, Guillem Cuart y David Garcia. Octavo de la general, Guillem Riera dominaba entre los más pequeños, seguido de Lozano Quesada que hacía lo propio con el grupo I. Nadal Galiana completaba el top ten en su vuelta a la competición con un Clio Sport de alquiler cuajando una excelente actuación al quedar por delante de Jaime Riera, Rafa Binimelis o Juliá Munar. Sión Verger se veía obligado a abandonar en la última pasada con problemas de motor.

SEGUNDA SECCIÓN.

Tras el oportuno descanso por la tarde se iniciaba la segunda sección con tres pasadas por el tramo de Puigpunyent- La Granja con un principio complicado de paellas muy cerradas y un final rápido de infarto. En la primera pasada saltaba la sorpresa cuando tras el collet debía abandonar José Martorell por rotura de transmisión. Sebastián Galmés se ponía las pilas y era el mejor a superar en cinco segundos a Nigorra. David García, Alberto San José y Guillem Cuart se colocaban a continuación superando a Mateu Fullana. En las dos siguientes pasadas se calcaron estas posiciones con un Galmés atacando para recuperar posiciones seguido de José Luís Nigorra en la segunda plaza. David García, Guillem Cuart y Alberto San José también repetían posiciones secundando al dúo de cabeza. La mala suerte era para Mateu Fullana que en el último tramo perdía más de treinta segundos al hacer un trompo que le alejaba de las posiciones de cabeza. Peor lo tuvo José M. Álvarez que abandonaba por salida de carretera, mientras que Raúl Moreno, Miguel Más, Francisco Garrido, Marcos Márquez y Fernando Tortonda lo hacían por avería mecánica. La clasificación final daba la victoria a Sebastián Galmés que aprovechó su ataque en la segunda sección, por delante de José Luís Nigorra que a punto estuvo de dar la campanada. Guillem Cuart completaba el podium y era tercero ante David García y Alberto San José. Guillem Riera, séptimo de la general, ganaba el grupo N ante Nadal Galiana, Mateu Fullana, Jaime Riera, Rafa Binimelis, José Miguel Pons y Juliá Munar que acababan en un pañuelo. Entre ellos se intercalaba Daniel Lozano Quesada, octavo, que ganaba el grupo I, siendo segundo de este grupo Jodi Santandreu. En cuanto al grupo R tan solo quedo Ernesto Cerdá como superviviente a los mandos de su Peugeot 205.

Podium finish for Jenson in Abu Dhabi

Jenson finished his World Championship year on a high with a third-placed podium finish at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Sunday. Rubens came through a first corner impact to drive a composed race to fourth place.
Jenson said: "It was a fun race today and to be on the podium for the last race of the year is fantastic. The last few laps were really exciting and I was giving everything to take second place from Mark. I couldn’t quite make the moves stick and he’s a very difficult guy to overtake but it was a good clean fight and we were really on the edge. I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at the team in Brackley and at Mercedes-Benz High Performance Engines. It really has been a fantastic year and they should all be very proud of what we have achieved together. It’s nice to end the year on a high after what has been a very competitive and challenging season."
Rubens was also happy with his race: "The start was quite exciting but unfortunately I collided slightly with Mark and he took a chunk of my front wing with him. It lost me a lot of downforce initially which let Jenson past but I was able to live with the understeer so we decided not to change the nose and I just pushed as hard as possible. It was a competitive race throughout and a lot of fun so I have to be pleased with fourth position . It’s truly been a great season and I have to thank the team for giving me a car that has been so competitive this year and the opportunity to return to winning ways again. We’ve had a great year together."

Esta mañana, en el Salón de actos del Palma Arena, ha tenido lugar la firma de los convenios de patrocinio entre la Fundació Illesport y tres de nuestros más destacados deportistas, David Salom, Lluís Salom y Pedro Vallcaneras. El encargado de estampar su firma, por parte de la Consellería d’Esports i Joventut, ha sido el director general, Gabriel Gili, que ha estado acompañado por el presidente de la Federació Balear de Motociclisme José Yuste. En el acto también han estado presentes el Gerente de la Fundació Illesport Jorge Mandado y su Director de Patrocinios Jordi Borrell.

Steindl testete im Meisterteam

Kaum ist die Saison gelaufen, da sind die Vorbereitrungen für den ATS Formel-3-Cup 2010 in vollem Gange. Auch Willi Steindl schaut sich nach einem Cockpit in der schnellsten deutschen Formel-Rennserie um. Der erst 17-Jährige aus dem österreichischen Kirchberg bei Kitzbühl will es in der kommenden Saison wissen. Deshalb absolvierte er bereits jetzt einen Test im Meisterteam Van Amersfoort Racing.
Das niederländische Erfolgsteam hatte die Privatstrecke in spanischen Guadix, rund eine halbe Autostunde von Granada entfernt, gemietet. Beste Verhältnisse mit strahlendem Sonnenschein und knapp 30 Grad erwartete die multikulturelle Formel-3-Truppe. Zwei Tage stand der Kurs exklusiv für das Team Van Amersfoort Racing zur Verfügung. Zwei Formel-3-Fahrzeuge und jeweils ein Auto des ADAC Formel Masters und der Formel Renault kamen in der letzten Oktober-Woche zum Einsatz.
Der Kurs ist sehr kurz, gerade mal 2,7 Kilometer lang, berichtet Willi Steindl. Deshalb ist die Strecke auch sehr schwierig zu fahren, da sie schmal und kurvenreich ist. Oberste Priorität setzte man nicht auf den schnellen Erfolg, sondern auf eine kontinuierliche Steigerung. Ich wollte auf gar keinen Fall das Auto beschädigen, oder sonst irgendeinen Blödsinn machen. Deshalb bin ich vorsichtig zu Werke gegangen und habe mich auf das Endergebnis konzentriert. Es war mir wichtig, am Ende schnell zu sein, so Willi Steindl über sein Testprogramm.
So stand dann auch am Ende des zweiten Tages eine mehr als ansehnliche Rundenzeit zu Buche: 1:08.800 Minuten und damit sogar der Formel-3-Rundenrekord, den der amtierende Formel-3-Champion Laurens Vanthoor im Jahr zuvor an gleicher Stelle aufgestellt hatte. Allein von der ersten Session des ersten Testtages zur ersten Session am zweiten Tag habe ich mich um rund sechs Sekunden verbessert, konnte der Österreicher stolz berichten. Jeweils rund 100 Runden legte man zurück und sammelte dabei genug Werte, um eine eventuelle Zusammenarbeit im nächsten Jahr beurteilen zu können.
Willi Steindl: Natürlich würde ich gerne bei Van Amersfoort Racing fahren. Das gesamte Team strahlt eine große Professionalität aus und gibt sich sehr familiär. Obwohl ich kein Niederländisch spreche, habe ich mich auf Anhieb wohl gefühlt. Ich bin mir sicher, mit Fritz van Amersfoort als Teamchef kann ich in der kommenden Saison einiges im ATS Formel-3-Cup erreichen. Jetzt hoffe ich, dass ich dort ein Cockpit bekomme.

Esta noche ha llegado al Aeropuerto de Palma Joan Perelló, un
jovencísimo piloto balear que acaba de conseguir la tercera posición
en el Campeonato de Europa de Motociclismo en la categoría de 125GP.
Joan, que ha llegado junto a su asesor José Moyá, ha sido recibido por
el Sr. Jordi Borrell, Director de Patrocinio de la Fundació Illesport,
por el Presidente de la Federació Balear de Motociclisme Sr José
Yuste, por el Director Técnico del Programa de Tecnificació de
Motociclisme de la Escola Balear de l’Esport, y por el piloto
mundialista de Superbikes David Salom. Destacar que esta tercera
posición tiene más mérito todavía si se tiene en cuenta que los dos
pilotos que han quedado delante están actualmente participando en el
Mundial, y también que Joan ha sido el primer español clasificado.

Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull Racing) won the final round of the 2009 FIA Formula One World Championship season in emphatic fashion after using a medium-medium-soft Bridgestone Potenza tyre strategy in a thrilling first-ever Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina.

Vettel led team-mate Mark Webber across the line, with newly crowned champion Jenson Button battling Webber hard and taking third. All podium finishers used the same tyre strategy.

Today the track continued to improve so we saw lap times improve all through the race. The medium showed very good performance and the soft was very durable, as seen by those making only one pitstop. Overall we are happy with todays performance. The Yas Marina Circuit is a fantastic new track and we have learnt a lot on our first visit. This has been a great year and everyone has adapted very well to the many changes including slick tyres and no in-season testing. We now look to our preparations for 2010, with no refuelling and narrower front tyres.

Bridgestone Potenza Driver Tyre Strategies Rd.17 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

In 2009, the tyre regulations stipulate that the two dry tyre specifications must be visibly distinguishable from each other. At the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the soft compound Bridgestone Potenza tyres were marked with green bands on the sidewalls. The wet weather tyre was also marked with a green line in a groove.

Joan Perelló sube al tercer peldaño del podio en el Campeonato de
Europa 2009 disputado en Albacete, siendo el mejor español
Joan Perelló ha sido el mejor español en el circuito de Albacete,
escenario del Campeonato de Europa de Velocidad 2009, y ha conseguido
subir al tercer peldaño del podio. El piloto mallorquín del equipo SAG-
Castrol y que está integrado en el Centre de Tecnificació de
Motociclisme de la Escola Balear de l´Esport, ha superado en 42
milésimas de segundo al checo Jakub Kornfeil en la lucha por el tercer
puesto, únicamente superado por el alemán Marcel Schrotter (Honda) y
el italiano Alessandro Tonucci.
La salida no ha sido el punto fuerte de Joan Perelló, que ha perdido
el cuarto puesto de la parrilla en la primera vuelta y ha tenido que
remontar para ser quinto en el primer paso por meta. El buen trabajo
realizado en los entrenamientos había estado a punto de irse al
traste, pero no ha sido así y ha iniciado el asalto al podio. Lo ha
conseguido al aprovechar la caída del andaluz Alberto Moncayo, uno de
los grandes favoritos, y superar en una lucha particular al checo
Jakub Kornfeil y al portugués Miguel Oliveira.
3. JOAN PERELLÓ

Estoy muy contento y es el día más feliz desde que comencé a ir en
moto. Quiero dar las gracias a todos los que me han apoyado y
permitido llegar hasta aquí, como mi familia y todo el equipo SAG-
Castrol con Gorka Segura y Edu Perales al frente, destacando también
el apoyo de la Escola Balear de lEsport. Ha sido un podio muy
trabajado y que no he podido celebrar hasta después de cruzar la meta,
ya que el checo Jakub Kornfeil me lo ha puesto muy difícil y sólo le
he podido superar por 42 milésimas de segundo. Salía bien posicionado,
desde el cuarto puesto de la primera fila, pero he fallado y me he
retrasado algo. Después he remontado hasta ponerme tercero y lo he
dado todo para mantenerme en esta posición y acabar subiendo al podio.
Estoy como en una nube y espero que me dé confianza en las últimas
carreras del CEV-2009.
EDU PERALES, TEAM MANAGER
En días así merece la pena arriesgar por la gente joven y trabajar
duro para sacar adelante proyectos en momentos tan duros. Joan Perelló
lleva carreras en franca progresión y este podio demuestra su talento
y también el potencial del equipo técnico. Estamos todos muy contentos
y quiero dar las gracias al equipo por su trabajo y dedicación, y
porque al final hemos conseguido algo importante.
