DOMINGO DÍA 23 DE AGOSTO, CIERRE DE LAS INSCRIPCIONES DE LA 4ª CARRERA CAMPEONATO FBEA DE CIRCUITO 2009 (6 de Septiembre).

Las inscripciones de la 4ª FBEA-2009, se abren hoy Martes día 18 a las 10 horas en la sede FBEA, o en cualquiera de las Escuderías asociadas, y se cierran el día 23 de Agosto en el Circuito RENNARENA, de 17 h a 20 h.
Las revisiones Técnicas y Administrativas se realizarán el sábado día 5 de Septiembre en el parque del recinto del Circuito RENNARENA, desde las 16 horas hasta 20 horas.
Importante para los futuros pilotos de circuito. El día 25 de Agosto será el último día para recepcionar la tramitación de la solicitud de las licencias.
El domingo día 6 de Septiembre, esperamos que otra vez, sea una jornada de carreras de alto nivel, para los pilotos y para todo el público que acuda a ver el evento.

Formula One returns to Spain

After the summer break, Formula One is back in action this weekend with the European Grand Prix taking place at the Valencia Street Circuit on Sunday.
Jenson is looking forward to racing again after the four-week break: "I’ve kept pretty busy with the London Triathlon and then some time to relax with my family and friends but it’s seemed like a long time without a race! Valencia is a beautiful city and the track is quite fun and challenging for the drivers with so many turns and the added factor of being surrounded by barriers means you have to maintain your concentration. There’s been a lot of work going on at the factory following our shutdown and with the cars at the front being so close at the moment, it will be an interesting weekend."
Rubens is also a fan of the new street circuit: "Valencia is a cool city and a great venue for the European Grand Prix last season. It’s a very different type of circuit to the classic image of a street track such as Monaco. The first part of the lap is quick with the long pit straight followed by a curved right-hander before the slower section leading up to the bridge. The second half feels more like a street circuit as you head away from the water and the tight hairpin at Turn 17 is the best overtaking opportunity. The final part of the lap is fast with some sweeping corners before the final tight left-hander."

Startplatz vier für Tom Dillmann

Der Belgier Laurens Vanthoor ist mit der Mission Titelgewinn zum 13. und 14. Lauf des ATS Formel-3-Cup zum Nürburgring gereist. Mit der Pole-Position für das erste Rennen am Samstag früh und dem dazugehörigen Zusatzpunkt startete der Van-Amersfoort-Pilot perfekt ins Wochenende. Doch neben ihm in der Startaufstellung steht mit dem Niederländer Stef Dusseldorp (beide Dallara F307 Volkswagen) nicht nur sein Teamkollege sondern auch sein schärfster Konkurrent in der Meisterschaft. Er wird alles versuchen, um vor Vanthoor ins Ziel zu kommen, um die Titelentscheidung so weit wie möglich herauszuzögern. Auf Rang drei steht der Schwede Max Nilsson (Dallara F307 OPC-Challenge) und wiederholte damit seine Leistung aus dem ersten Qualifying in Assen. Bei ihm scheint der Knoten geplatzt zu sein. Zudem kann er seine dreijährige Formel-3-Erfahrung auf dem Nürburgring ausspielen.
Die zweite Startreihe komplettiert ein neuer Fahrer im ATS Formel-3-Cup: der Franzose Tom Dillmann (Dallara F307 Mercedes) startet dieses Wochenende für das Team Neuhauser Racing. Der Einsatz war schon lange geplant. ″Er hat nach dem Wochenende auf dem Lausitzring bei mir getestet″, erzählt Teamchef Knud Rieser. Doch seitdem saß der 19-Jährige nicht mehr in dem Boliden. ″Deswegen hatten wir noch kleine Schwierigkeiten zu beseitigen und deswegen kam auch nur der vierte Platz heraus.″ Ebenfalls neu im Cup ist der Deutsche Tim Sandtler (Dallara F307 Mercedes). Er bestreitet das Wochenende zusammen mit Jo Zeller Racing. Er wird sein erstes Rennen im ATS Formel-3-Cup von der neunten Position aus angehen.
Laurens Vanthoor: Heute war es nicht einfach. Als ich in meine erste fliegende Runde starten wollte, kamen vier Autos aus der Boxengasse. Dementsprechend hatte ich auch in der folgenden Runde viel Verkehr. Im Anschluss hatte ich endlich freie Bahn und konnte meine Zeit fahren. Aber den Peak der Reifen konnte ich nicht nutzen, da der in den ersten beiden Runden liegt. Aber am Ende ist es die Pole und ein Punkt.
Stef Dusseldorp: Das war ein hartes Stück Arbeit. Wir haben nach dem freien Training noch verschiedene Änderungen vorgenommen. Im Qualifying bin ich laufend in Verkehr geraten. Ich hatte Fahrer hinter und vor mir. Deswegen musste ich eine Runde extrem langsamer fahren, um genügend Abstand zu gewinnen. Aber ich weiß, dass wir schnell genug sind.
Tom Dillmann: Ich bin enttäuscht. Der vierte Platz war nicht gerade mein Ziel. Ich will um die Pole-Position kämpfen. Aber ich denke, es ist ein gutes Ergebnis für das Team. Für mich ist hier vieles neu: das Auto, die Yokohama-Reifen und auch die Strecke. Die bin ich bisher nur in einer anderen Variante gefahren. Wir haben auf jeden Fall noch das Potenzial, uns zu verbessern. Morgen steht ja das zweite Qualifying auf dem Programm.

Former World Champion Nigel Mansell returns to top level in Le Mans Series with his son !

British motor racing legend Nigel Mansell will return to the international motorsport arena next month, when he races a Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S in the Le Mans Series finale at Silverstone.

Mansell, who remains the most successful British Formula One driver of all time and last competed at Grand Prix level in 1995, will be joined for the first time by son Greg and former Le Mans winner, Ginetta Chairman Lawrence Tomlinson to compete in the world famous endurance race ‘1000km of Silverstone‘.

With his son Leo driving the team Modena’s Ferrari F430 GT in LMGT2, we can say that the 1000 Km of Silverstone will be a family affair for Nigel Mansell!

XXX Subida al Puigmajor: GERARD DE LA CASA Y XAVI RIERA CONFIRMAN SU PRESENCIA EN EL PUIGMAJOR.

Dos pilotos carismáticos y habituales de la Pujada al Puigmajor cuando era puntuable para el Campeonato de España de Montaña, han confirmado su presencia en la XXX Pujada al Puigmajor prevista para los días 19 y 20 de septiembre. Se trata del piloto andorrano Gerard de la Casa y del catalán Xavi Riera.

La Escudería Serra de Tramuntana esta haciendo grandes esfuerzos para que en esta trigésima edición haya un buen plantel de pilotos, más que numeroso, que sea de calidad, y para ello han contactado con pilotos que han formado parte de la prueba reina de Baleares por excelencia. De esta manera a fecha de hoy, ya esta confirmada la asistencia de Gerard de la Casa y Xavi Riera, amén de Juan Fernández, al que se homenajeará durante el transcurso de la prueba.

Aunque Gerard de la Casa lleva varios años retirado del panorama nacional y sus participaciones se han visto reducidas al ámbito catalán y local, siendo uno de los habituales del G. Series Grandvalira. El andorrano ha aceptado de buen gusto la invitación de la organización para de esta manera rendir tributo al piloto de Danone, como popularmente es conocido Juan Fernández. Actualmente Gerard de la Casa cuenta con dos coches de primer nivel: el mítico BMW-M3 con el que disputó el nacional de montaña, y una barqueta. A fecha de hoy no se ha desvelado con qué vehículo acudirá al Puigmajor, pero lo que si tiene muy claro es que viene a dar espectáculo y a luchar por los puestos de cabeza.

Por su parte Xavi Riera es archiconocido por los aficionados de Baleares ya que ha competido en muchas ocasiones en la Subida de Ibiza y en el Puigmajor. Sobre el catalán hay que decir que ha ganado el Campeonato de España de Montaña en el año 2000, mientras que consiguió once títulos más en su respectivo grupo. El piloto de Girona desplazará a su equipo Riera Racing, y estará presente a los mandos de su potente BMW 320 que a buen seguro hará las delicias del respetable.

Some days before the ADAC 1000 Km of the Nürburgring, Marc Lieb, Porsche works driver and leader of the Felbermayr-Proton team, drives you on the track of the mythical circuit.

“The Grand Prix track of the Nürburgring is a modern racing circuit with a lot of variation of slow and medium speed corners.

After the Start-Finish line you enter turn 1 into the “Mercedes Arena”. It is a very tight right hand hairpin in 1st gear and a critical part at the start. The cars come from top speed down to 55km/h. The following two left corners are also quite slow in 2nd gear with another slow 90-degree right hander exiting the “Mercedes Arena”. The Arena is a tricky place and very technical. It is not my favourite part of the circuit though.

Se pone en conocimiento de los afiliados a la Federació Balear de Motociclisme y a los aficionados en general, que las oficinas de esta federación han cambiado de ubicación, pasando al Velódromo Palma Arena, sito en la calle de Uruguay. Los horarios de atención al público se mantienen invariables, Martes y Jueves, de 18:30 a 20:30 h. Así mismo se mantiene el mismo teléfono y Fax.

Excelente fin de semana para Pedro Roca

El piloto mallorquín Pedro Roca se ha proclamado, por tercer año consecutivo, campeón de España de la copa CM de montaña, después de la disputa de la Subida a Vila de Cortegada, penúltima prueba puntuable para el campeonato de España de la especialidad. Las tierras gallegas acogían en poco menos de un mes la segunda prueba del campeonato disputada en sus carreteras, que contaba con un trazado rápido y selectivo de 3.800 metros de longitud.
El binomio Pedro Roca/Silver-car ha funcionado de nuevo a la perfección, obteniendo la victoria en las dos mangas puntuables del sábado y el domingo, que le han permitido sumar los puntos suficientes para cantar el alirón a falta de una prueba para que finalice el campeonato. Pedro llegaba a Cortegada con una cómoda ventaja sobre el segundo clasificado, el también piloto de Silver-Car Iñigo Martínez, que le permitían no tener que jugársela. Sin embargo el piloto mallorquín salió a por todas desde el principio marcando el mejor tiempo en la primera subida de entrenos del sábado. En la segunda su rival y compañero de montura le arrebataba la primera plaza por tan sólo 6 milésimas, sin embargo en la manga oficial de carrera Roca se adjudicó la victoria con un tiempo de un minuto cincuenta y cuatro segundos, aventajando en más de un segundo a Iñigo, que le valía el título de campeón. Ya el domingo, con el título en el bolsillo y sin la presión de tener que luchar por el campeonato, el de Buger protagonizaba otra gran actuación consiguiendo de nuevo los mejores tiempos en las magnas de entrenos y la posterior victoria en la segunda manga oficial de carrera, demostrando ser el claro dominador de la categoría.
Pedro Roca comentaba después de la prueba: “Estoy muy contento sobretodo por haber podido revalidar el título. El fin de semana ha ido muy bien, el coche ha funcionado a la perfección y hemos podido cumplir el objetivo marcado. El trazado de la subida era bastante atípico y difícil de entrenar por la gran cantidad de cambios de trazado, pero hemos sabido adaptarnos. Me gustaría resaltar la buena acogida que hemos tenido y el gran trabajo de la organización.”
La última prueba del calendario se disputará los próximos 26 y 27 de Septiembre en Denia.

Frenchman coverts pole position to race two victory

Julien Jousse, who started on pole position, took a dominant maiden victory in race two of the FIA Formula Two Championship at Donington Park this afternoon (Sunday).
Jousse made a fantastic getaway as the lights went out, whilst Kazim Vasiliauskas also had a storming start – the Lithuanian got by Sebastian Hohenthal and Mirko Bortolotti around the outside at Redgate to move into second.

An incident at the Esses on the first lap involving multiple cars towards the back of the field eliminated Jason Moore, Armaan Ebrahim, Jens Höing, Nicola De Marco and Tom Gladdis, and brought out the safety car for three laps. At the restart, Jousse pulled out a good advantage whilst Alex Brundle and Robert Wickens made contact at the Craner Curves. The young Briton made heavy contact with the barriers and both drivers were out on the spot.
Jousse continued to pull away from Vasiliauskas whilst an intense battle raged behind, as Mirko Bortolotti, Sebastian Hohenthal and Andy Soucek all scrapped for third place. Soucek made a remarkable pass on Hohenthal on lap 17 at the Craner Curves and quickly set about catching Bortolotti – the Spaniard applying intense pressure on the reigning Italian Formula 3 champion.
Bortolotti produced a superb defensive display to hold Soucek at bay as the pair went side-by-side through Redgate, Hollywood and the Craner Curves. Soucek was forced to concede and Bortolotti clinched the final podium position, whilst Jousse took victory by more than 15 seconds from Vasiliauskas.

Sebastian Hohenthal held off both Tobias Hegewald and Mikhail Aleshin to take fifth, whilst Miloš Pavlović rounded out the points in eighth position. Carlos Iaconelli and Philipp Eng were ninth and tenth respectively.

Germán Sánchez and Jolyon Palmer both enjoyed good runs just outside the top ten – 11th place for Sánchez equalling his best performance of the season. Edoardo Piscopo retired late on, as did Natacha Gachnang after a spin at Goddards.

Julien Jousse said: "I’m happy because everything went right in this race. It was not the case this morning, because I made a big mistake and missed an opportunity to score big points. I’m happy to win after this pole. I was quick all weekend and I am happy to confirm that with a win. I don’t know Oschersleben, so I hope to learn it very quickly and get the same result."

Kazim Vasiliauskas said: "The start was not so bad. I used the boost and Bortolotti and Hohenthal were fighting on the inside of the corner. They both braked early so I just tried to go around the outside and I passed them. Then at the restart I made a mistake because I tried to press the boost but instead I pushed the wrong button! Bortolotti almost overtook me but I defended and after that I just tried to focus on my race."

Mirko Bortolotti said: "I’m happy to be back on the podium. It was a really difficult race for me because I was under pressure throughout the race. I had a close moment going side by side with Soucek, but it was fun."

Martin Tomczyk ist zurück: Sieg am Nürburgring

Trotz Temperaturen über 30 Grad auf dem Nürburgring behielt Audi-Pilot Martin Tomczyk beim sechsten DTM-Lauf der Saison einen kühlen Kopf. Der Rosenheimer feierte nach 48 Runden einen souveränen Start-Ziel-Sieg. Für den 27-Jährigen ist es der vierte DTM-Erfolg seiner Karriere. „Das Auto war einfach fantastisch, ich hatte dieses Wochenende kein einziges Problem. Zudem war es ein beruhigendes Rennen für mich mit zwei Audi hinter mir. Die Pole-Position beim Qualifying gestern war fast noch emotionaler als heute der Rennsieg. Obwohl es immer das Schönste ist, ein Rennen zu gewinnen. Den Speed des Wochenendes habe ich lange Zeit vermisst, aber nun bin ich zurück“, sagte der Sieger nach dem Rennen.
Auch der zweitplatzierte Timo Scheider (Audi) feierte sein Ergebnis, denn mit acht zusätzlichen und insgesamt 35 Zählern übernimmt der amtierende DTM-Champion erneut die Führung in der Gesamtwertung. Sein härtester Verfolger ist ebenfalls ein Audi-Pilot: Der Schwede Mattias Ekström beendete das Rennen in der Eifel als Dritter und liegt im Titelkampf nur einen Punkt hinter Scheider. Markus Winkelhock beeindruckte im Audi A4 DTM des Jahrgangs 2008 als Vierter ebenso wie der Brite Jamie Green in der AMG Mercedes C-Klasse des Vorjahres auf Platz fünf. „Es hat mich überrascht, als bester Mercedes-Benz über die Ziellinie zu fahren. Aber ich hatte einen guten Speed, eine gute Konstanz und die Reifen waren auch gut. Das alles war der Schlüssel zum Erfolg. Man hat heute einmal mehr gesehen, dass die Leistungsdichte in der DTM sehr eng ist. Aber mit drei von sechs gewonnenen Rennen für Mercedes-Benz lässt es sich positiv nach vorne schauen“, sagte Green.
86.000 Fans erlebten ein spannendes DTM-Rennwochenende auf dem zu einem Erlebnispark umgebauten Nürburgring. Absoluter Höhepunkt war das Rennen am Sonntag. Bereits in der Startphase zogen Ekström und Scheider, von der dritten und vierten Position gestartet, an Mercedes-Benz-Konkurrent Bruno Spengler vorbei. Bei dem Manöver beschädigten Spengler und Ekström ihre Fahrzeuge, konnten das Rennen aber fortsetzen. Ekström büßte einen Platz ein und fiel hinter Scheider auf Rang drei zurück. Der Kanadier Spengler verlor im Laufe des Rennens zwei weitere Plätze und wurde hinter Green Sechster.
Der ehemalige Formel-1-Pilot Ralf Schumacher machte im Rennen insgesamt acht Plätze gut und schaffte als Siebter erneut den Sprung in die Punkte. Trotz einer großartigen Aufholjagd von Startplatz 16 verlor der britische Mercedes-Benz-Fahrer Gary Paffett nach einem achten Platz seine Führung in der Gesamtwertung. Paffett liegt im Titelkampf mit 29 Punkten nun auf Platz drei hinter Ekström und Scheider.
In drei Wochen geht es weiter: Vom 4. bis 6. September findet in Brands Hatch (GB) das siebte DTM-Rennwochenende des Jahres statt.
Audi-Motorsportchef Dr. Wolfgang Ullrich: „Ich bin sehr froh. Mit vier Audi vorn zu sein, das ist eine wirklich tolle Teamleistung und ein perfektes Rennwochenende für Audi. Für die zweite Saisonhälfte ist eine Doppelführung in der Meisterschaft eine tolle Ausgangsposition. Ich freue mich vor allem, dass Martin Tomczyk wieder da ist. Das ist ein beeindruckendes Comeback. Auch Markus Winkelhock ist ein sehr gutes Rennen gefahren.“
Mercedes-Benz-Motorsportchef Norbert Haug: „Das Rennen heute hätte besser für uns laufen können. Wir sind dennoch zufrieden, auf die Plätze fünf bis neun gefahren zu sein. Als Mannschaft waren wir heute nicht stark genug. Wir hatten nicht die Pace, Audi zu schlagen. Das liegt nicht zuletzt an den zehn Kilogramm Zusatzgewicht. Zur Halbzeit steht es nun drei zu drei: Drei Siege haben wir errungen, drei Audi. Alles ist also noch offen. Wir freuen uns auf Brands Hatch.“

Minute’s silence held at Donington Park

The Formula Two team and drivers assembled on the grid at Donington Park this morning (Sunday) to pay tribute to Henry Surtees, who tragically lost his life following an accident in the second F2 race at Brands Hatch in July.
Henry’s car was placed on pole position with all 24 F2 drivers stood behind, together with MSV’s Chief Executive Jonathan Palmer and the entire Formula Two team. A minute’s silence was held at 9.30am.

All 24 Formula Two cars are also carrying a personal tribute sticker to Henry on the rear wing this weekend, bearing the simple message: "Henry – we miss you."

Spaniard extends championship lead after crushing race one win

Spaniard Andy Soucek has extended his lead in the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship after taking a brilliant win at Donington Park in race one this morning (Sunday). He becomes the first driver to achieve three race victories this season.
Starting from third on the grid, Soucek made a fantastic getaway to lead into the first corner, whilst polesitter Tobias Hegewald dropped down to third behind Mikhail Aleshin. Soucek continued to pull a gap on his rivals behind, setting his fastest lap towards the end of the race, which he went on to win comfortably by nearly ten seconds.

"This was the kind of race you dream about – it was perfect," said Soucek. "From the start I hit the boost at just the right moment and in the right place, and it was fantastic – I don’t think I will be able to repeat such a start many times. I’m really pleased, particularly for my mechanic who did a fantastic job repairing my car after my crash yesterday and it was just perfect.

"I was just amazed that every lap I saw my times and they were exactly the same. My rhythm was very consistent which is the most important thing in a race, so I’m really happy."

Whilst Soucek was never challenged, there was action throughout the field behind him, with Aleshin, Hegewald and Miloš Pavlović enjoying a race-long scrap for second place. Aleshin absorbed the pressure and held on to claim 8 points, whilst Pavlović managed to pass Hegewald on lap 20 going into the Fogerty Esses, only to suddenly slow and retire two laps later.

"Tobias gave me a hard time during the race," said Aleshin. "I was on the limit basically on every corner and just saw Tobias coming closer and closer. I was pretty surprised at the start – I was probably still in first gear and Andy came past me! I had a good start, but probably not as good as Andy – second place is still good though."
Edoardo Piscopo took a strong fourth place, with Philipp Eng in fifth. Sebastian Hohenthal and Julien Jousse recovered to sixth and seventh after dropping down the order following an earlier collision at Goddards, whilst Armaan Ebrahim took the final point in eighth.

Jack Clarke slipped to ninth after losing time during an off at Redgate, but the Englishman still enjoyed one of this strongest drives of the season, having been running in a points paying position from 13th on the grid. Mirko Bortolotti rounded out the top ten after he eventually passed Jason Moore on the Dunlop Straight – the pair having endured a titanic battle throughout.
Canadian Robert Wickens dropped through the field after a technical problem and retired, whilst Nicola De Marco and Jens Höing were eliminated following a lap one collision. Jolyon Palmer, Henri Karjalainen and Carlos Iaconelli came together in dramatic style on lap 17, damaging all three cars. Palmer had seemingly shown enough of his car down the inside of Iaconelli at the Fogerty Esses, but the Brazilian turned in and heavy contact was made. As a result, Karjalainen had nowhere to go and he made contact with the rear of Palmer’s car.

Alex Brundle recovered from a spin after a close moment with Henri Karjalainen at Coppice, whilst Pietro Gandolfi retired following a double spin at the Fogerty Esses and Goddards.
