German driver Jens Höing will compete in the 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship following the resolution of contractual issues. 

Along with the rest of the F2 line-up, Höing will take part in the final pre-season group test at Silverstone on Monday (18 May).

21 year-old Höing competed in the German Formula 3 Cup last season. He also tested a Superleague Formula car at Vallelunga in August 2008, where he set the sixth quickest time overall. Prior to F3, Höing spent three seasons racing in Germany’s national Formula BMW Championship.  He contested the 2006 Formula BMW World Final against fellow F2 drivers Rob Wickens, Jack Clarke and Tobias Hegewald at the Circuit de Valencia – the venue which will host the opening rounds of the Formula Two season in just over two weeks time.Jens

Höing has already confirmed that his participation in Formula Two is likely to be a two year programme: "This is my best chance to reach the top of professional motorsport," he said. "My aim is to score podiums this year before challenging for the title next season. I want to win the F2 championship in 2010. I am extremely grateful to my sponsor and my new management team who have made this drive in F2 possible."

Canadian driver leads Red Bull Junior Team one-two at Snetterton

The first official FIA Formula Two Championship test has concluded at Snetterton, with Canadian Rob Wickens finishing the day at the top of the timesheets with a time of 59.433s.

Wickens’ flying lap, which was set deep into the afternoon session, was nearly bettered immediately afterwards by fellow Red Bull junior driver Mirko Bortolotti, but the Italian missed out by just 0.168s. Six other drivers dipped below the one minute mark, with Formula Palmer Audi graduate Alex Brundle ending up third quickest.

Experienced Spaniard Andy Soucek was the only driver to set a sub-one minute time in both the morning and afternoon – his afternoon lap of 59.763s was good enough for fourth place. Philipp Eng and Milos Pavlovic were fifth and sixth respectively, but were unable to improve on their early morning pace. Julien Jousse, Sebastian Hohenthal, Mikhail Aleshin and Tobias Hegewald rounded out the top ten. 

The 2009 FIA Formula Two Championship looks set to be remarkably close, with a little over one second covering the top 20 drivers at the end of the day. All cars ran today (Wednesday) with brand new bespoke F2 tyres from Avon and the Williams JPH1 enjoyed good reliability with every driver completing more than 50 laps during the day. Natacha Gachnang had the most track time, completing 94 laps in her new F2 car.

Rob Wickens said: “It was a good reward and a good way to end the first test day of testing, but ultimately it’s only the first day of a long season. I really enjoyed it and I felt very comfortable in the car. The competition is very tight. I was surprised at one point when I was only three tenths off the best time, but I was way down in the overall positions. It’s definitely what you can expect from the whole season and I think it should be good.”

Mirko Bortolotti said: “To be honest I just wanted to learn the car and track today so I wasn’t focussed on times, but when I saw that I was second I was really pleased. I am happy with the work we have done and I am enjoying it a lot. All the guys from Williams F1 and MotorSport Vision have done a great job. The car is great and I am really proud to be a part of this championship.”

Alex Brundle said: "I knew the lap was pretty quick. I feel really comfortable in the car and it is good to know that I am there or thereabouts. I really love driving this car – it is mega."

It wasn’t quite a romantic stroll, by the Seine but there was definitely something memorable about MotoGP World Champion, Fiat Yamaha’s Valentino Rossi’s first blast past the Eiffel tower and Champs-Élysées with an YZF-R1. The Italian was taking in the tourist hot-spots of Paris ahead of pushing for his 99th career victory this weekend at Le Mans.
Rossi was the draw for hundreds of MotoGP fans and curious onlookers as the 30 year old carefully steered a special edition Monster Energy- livered R1 by the Arc de Triomphe, through nearby streets to a press conference and then – despite the rain – managed a burn-out in front of the French capital’s famous sky-line form.
“It was quite slippery out there with the rain, but I managed to do a little burn-out by the Eiffel Tower,” said Rossi who leads the current MotoGP standings by 11 points on his YZR-M1 and won the Grand Prix of Spain at Jerez two weeks ago he said. “It’s my first time to the Eiffel Tower so I was pleased to do that, we all had some fun out there. I’m looking forward to this weekend at Le Mans now.”
Success at the short and twisty circuit of Le Mans on Sunday could set-up a momentous weekend a fortnight later with the chance to reach 100 triumphs in front of his tifosi at Mugello.

Pedro Roca participará en la Subida al Fito

El campeonato de España de Montaña se desplazará a Asturias este fin de semana, para disputar de la XXXVIII edición de la Subida Internacional al Fito, que también es puntuable para el campeonato de Europa de la especialidad. La inscripción ha sido menor que en ediciones anteriores con un total de 87 vehículos inscritos, entre los cuales hay 20 vehículos CM. La prueba se desarrollará en dos jornadas sobre un trazado de 5.320 metros, con dos ascensiones de entrenos y una de carrera en cada una de ellas, que de cara al campeonato de España puntúan de forma independiente.
El piloto mallorquín Pedro Roca llega a esta prueba como líder de la copa CM, y su principal objetivo será el de mantener el liderato frente a sus rivales Oscar Palacio e Iñigo Martínez que están empatados a puntos en la segunda posición de la clasificación general. El asturiano Palacio, sin duda, será el rival a batir en esta ocasión, ya que corre en casa y conoce muy bien la pista.
En la edición del 2008, el piloto del Silver-Car, rubricó una gran actuación con un primer y un segundo puesto en la dos mangas puntuables de la prueba, sin embargo, en esta ocasión y con toda seguridad, también tendrá que luchar contra los elementos, ya que las predicciones meteorológicas indican lluvia durante todo el fin de semana, lo que dificultará la puesta a punto del vehículo.
Pedro Roca comentaba antes de la prueba: "Tras los resultados obtenidos en Ubrique y en Portugal, estamos muy esperanzados de obtener aquí un buen resultado que nos permita seguir liderando el campeonato nacional, aunque será difícil ya que Oscar corre en casa y aquí saldrá muy motivado".

Am kommenden Wochenende ist es endlich so weit, die Formel 3 Euro Serie startet in ihre siebte Saison. Auf dem 4,574 Kilometer langen Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg steigt traditionell der Saisonauftakt der stärksten Nachwuchsserie der Welt. 28 Piloten aus 16 Ländern gehen hochmotiviert in die ersten beiden Rennen des Jahres; sie alle wollen Nachfolger des aktuellen Champions Nico Hülkenberg werden.

Bei den Testfahrten kristallisierten sich bereits erste Favoriten heraus. Einer von ihnen ist der Franzose Jules Bianchi (ART Grand Prix). 2008 überzeugte er als bestplatzierter Rookie mit dem dritten Gesamtrang hinter Hülkenberg und Edoardo Mortara, bei den offiziellen Testfahrten in Estoril holte er gleich beide Tagesbestzeiten. Mit guten Testleistungen überraschten auch Roberto Merhi (Manor Motorsport) und Atte Mustonen (Motopark Academy). Beide Neulinge in der Formel 3 Euro Serie ließen sich in Valencia jeweils eine Tagesbestzeit notieren. Im badischen Motodrom feiert nicht nur der Finne Mustonen, sondern auch sein Team Motopark Academy Premiere in der Formel 3 Euro Serie; außerdem ist die Mannschaft Kolles & Heinz Union neu in der Euro Serie.

Christian Vietoris (Mücke Motorsport): „Mein Saisonziel ist klar, ich möchte Champion werden. Für Hockenheim sehe ich mich dennoch nicht als Favoriten, denn bei den Tests lief es noch nicht ganz nach Wunsch. Aber ein Platz in den Top Five sollte machbar sein. Schließlich sind die Mücke-Autos in Hockenheim bisher immer schnell gewesen – egal, ob bei Regen oder auf trockener Fahrbahn.“

Weltweit sind Bilder der Nachwuchsserie bei elf Sendern in 15 Ländern live oder re-live zu sehen, Zusammenfassungen werden in 20 Ländern gezeigt.

SEGUNDA PRUEBA DEL OPEN FORMULA CATALUÑA

Samuel Checa junto a su equipo se desplazarán este fin de semana hasta el circuito de Alcarrás para disputar la segunda prueba del Campeonato de Cataluña de Fórmula 2 litros donde participa de forma extraordinaria esta temporada para asegurar una continuidad en su carrera deportiva.
En la primera prueba celebrada en Calafat el piloto mallorquín destacó notablemente sobre el resto de participantes adjudicándose cómodamente la primera manga aunque una inesperada avería en la segunda carrera le impidió sumar otros 25 puntos.
El Campeonato de Cataluña de Fórmula 2 litros sirve a muchos pilotos como "refugio" ante las dificultades de poder completar los presupuestos de otros Campeonatos más importantes como el Campeoanto de España de Fórmula 3 que recientemente ha sido clasificado como Campeonato Europeo por la FIA y ha subido considerablemente su coste de participación al disputar numerosas pruebas fuera del continente español.
Samuel Checa y su equipo siguen negociando con patrocinadores e instituciones para poder completar un presupuesto que le permita participar en algunas pruebas internacionales.
Los recientes cambios de criterios sobre ayudas y patrocinios en el Govern de les Illes Balears, sobretodo por la desvinculación de parte de la Consellería de Turismo, que ha cerrado sus colaboraciones con este tipo de deportistas, hacen mucho más difíciles estas negociaciones aunque se espera poder conseguir un mínimo de apoyo para poder continuar con la carrera deportiva de uno de los pilotos más destacados de las Islas Baleares.

Masse mit viel Klasse – Formel 3 Euro Serie 2009

Am kommenden Wochenende startet die Formel 3 Euro Serie in ihre siebte Saison. Insgesamt 28 Fahrer umfasst die Starterliste. Alle Nachwuchsfahrer haben nur ein Ziel: Sie wollen Lewis Hamilton, dem Champion der Formel 3 Euro Serie 2005 oder Sebastian Vettel, dem Vize-Champion von 2006, nacheifern und ebenfalls in der Formel 1 für Furore sorgen. Red Bull-Schützling Brendon Hartley (Carlin Motorsport) ist seinen Formel-3-Kollegen in diesem Punkt bereits ein kleines Stück voraus; der Neuseeländer wird 2009 neben seinem Engagement in der Formel 3 Euro Serie auch als Test- und Ersatzpilot für die beiden Formel-1-Teams Red Bull Racing und Scuderia Toro Rosso zur Verfügung stehen.

Die Mischung in der Formel 3 Euro Serie ist auch in diesem Jahr wieder international: Insgesamt 16 verschiedene Nationalflaggen wehen im Formel-3-Fahrerlager. Die stärkste Abordnung stellt Frankreich mit Jules Bianchi, Adrien Tambay (beide ART Grand Prix), Jean-Karl Vernay (Signature) und Alexandre Marsoin (SG Formula), gefolgt von Deutschland mit Christian Vietoris, Marco Wittmann (beide Mücke Motorsport) und Kevin Mirocha (HBR Motorsport), Finnland mit Valtteri Bottas (ART Grand Prix), Red Bull-Mann Mika Mäki (Signature) und Atte Mustonen (Motopark Academy) sowie Brasilien, das mit César Ramos, Pedro Henrique (beide Manor Motorsport) und Tiago Geronimi (Signature) antritt.

Als Gesamt-Dritter der vergangenen Saison nimmt Bianchi einen zweiten Anlauf in der Euro Serie. Auch Mäki, Vietoris und Vernay haben die Saison 2008 auf einem einstelligen Tabellenplatz beendet und wollen nun um den Titel fahren. Einige Neulinge haben schon vor ihrem Einstieg in die Euro Serie ihr Talent bewiesen. Bottas kommt als Meister des Formel Renault 2.0 Eurocup und der Formel Renault 2.0 NEC, Esteban Gutierrez (ART Grand Prix) gewann 2008 die Formel BMW Europa. Als Meister der japanischen Formel 3 geht Carlo van Dam (Kolles & Heinz Union) in seine erste volle Saison in der Formel 3 Euro Serie.

Zwei neue Teams feiern in Hockenheim ihre Premiere in der Euro Serie. Die von Timo Rumpfkeil geführte Mannschaft Motopark Academy unternimmt nach einigen Titelgewinnen in der Formel Renault nun den Schritt in die Euro Serie. Atte Mustonen und Christopher Zanella werden die beiden Dallara-Mercedes pilotieren. Kolles & Heinz Union ist der Zusammenschluss der beiden im Motorsport bekannten Persönlichkeiten Dr. Colin Kolles und Werner Heinz. Sie setzen zwei Dallara-Volkswagen für Carlo Van Dam und Red Bull-Fahrer Robert Wickens ein.

Hervorragende TV-Präsenz für die Formel 3 Euro Serie 2009

Am kommenden Wochenende (15. – 17. Mai) startet die Formel 3 Euro Serie auf dem Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg in die neue Saison. In ihrem siebten Jahr wartet die stärkste Nachwuchsserie der Welt mit der bisher besten TV-Präsenz in ihrer Geschichte auf.

Mit der ARD und dem Nachrichtensender n-tv, die zum ersten Mal ausführlich über die Formel 3 Euro Serie berichten, konnten zwei neue TV-Partner gewonnen werden, die sich gegenseitig in ihrem Programm ergänzen. Auch das DSF strahlt samstags und sonntags jeweils am Abend Zusammenfassungen der Formel 3 Euro Serie aus.

Im Ersten wird es am Samstag, unmittelbar nach der Live-Übertragung des DTM-Qualifyings, von 14:30 bis 15:00 Uhr eine Zusammenfassung des ersten Rennens geben. Die 30-minütige Berichterstattung beinhaltet zudem Hintergründe über die Formel 3 Euro Serie. Eine Zusammenfassung des zweiten Laufes wird dann jeweils am Sonntag von 15:15 bis 15:20 Uhr im Rahmen der DTM-Berichterstattung ausgestrahlt.

n-tv zeigt am Samstag von 18:20 bis 18:30 Uhr in „Formel 3 kompakt“ eine Zusammenfassung des ersten Rennens und sendet am Sonntag von 10:30 bis 11:10 Uhr das zweite Rennen live. Im Magazin „n-tv Speed“ werden am Dienstag von 16:00 bis 16:30 Uhr Beiträge über die Formel 3 Euro Serie, die DTM und alle weiteren DTM-Partnerserien gezeigt.

Der Sportkanal SSN TV zeigt sowohl am Samstag als auch am Sonntag jeweils das Rennen der Formel 3 Euro Serie „re-live“ (zeitversetzt in voller Länge), ebenso die Rennen des ADAC VW Polo Cup, des Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland und des Seat Leon Supercopa. Seit dem 1. Mai ist SSN TV über Satellit sowie im digitalen Netz der Kabelanbieter Unity Media, Tele Columbus, Kabel BW und Net Cologne zu empfangen. Außerdem sind die Rennen nach der Erstausstrahlung auch im Internet unter www.ssn.tv zugänglich.

Wie es sich für eine Serie mit internationalem Anspruch gehört, ist die Formel 3 Euro Serie auch weltweit im Fernsehen vertreten. Bilder der Nachwuchsserie sind bei 11 Sendern in 15 Ländern live oder „re-live“ zu sehen, Zusammenfassungen der Rennen werden in 20 Ländern gezeigt. Mit vielen weiteren Sendern wird aktuell noch verhandelt, um die internationale Präsenz kontinuierlich auszubauen.

After a report from the Scrutineers, the Panel of the Stewards pronounced the exclusion of the competitors n°26, 29, 32 and 77.

The classifications of the LMP1, LMP2 and LMGT1 categories are now available.

The GT2 classification is suspended until the decision of the Court on the appeal releaved by the competitor n°77 on the decision n°21 of the panel of the stewards.

Die DTM ist seit Jahren ein bedeutendes Ereignis, das rund um den Globus intensiv verfolgt wird. 2008 war die DTM international über 3.000 Stunden im TV zu sehen, davon 738 Stunden live, was eine Steigerung von 140 Live-Stunden im Vergleich zum Vorjahr bedeutet.

Auch 2009 konnte die internationale TV-Präsenz  durch den DTM-Partner WIGE MEDIA AG (Int’l TV-Marketing) beachtlich ausgeweitet werden.  So werden die DTM-Rennen in 86 Ländern auf vier Kontinenten live bzw. zeitversetzt im Fernsehen zu verfolgen sein – ein enormer Anstieg um 38 zusätzliche Länder im Vergleich zum Vorjahr.

Eine besonders bemerkenswerte Neuerung ist, dass das Renngeschehen erstmals in der Geschichte der DTM auch in Indien für 1,1 Milliarden Menschen live bei Zee Sports sowie als Highlight-Format auf ESPN Star zu sehen ist. Weiterhin wird die Serie in diesem Jahr erstmalig in Japan, Süd- und Mittelamerika, im Mittleren Osten sowie in 17 afrikanische Länder live übertragen.

Starke Entwicklung im europäischen TV
In Europa ist die DTM seit Jahren in nahezu allen Ländern über die komplette Saison live im Fernsehen vertreten und erfreut sich weiterhin steigender Beliebtheit –  so konnten auch in diesem Jahr bedeutende neue Live-Sendeplätze in Großbritannien (SetantaSports), Griechenland (Conn-X TV), Frankreich und Polen (beide Orange TV) hinzugewonnen werden.

Thorsten Schroeder, Head of WIGE MEDIA Int’l TV-Marketing, ist mit der aktuellen Entwicklung der DTM im TV sehr zufrieden: „Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir das Niveau der weltweiten TV-Präsenz in diesem Jahr qualitativ wie quantitativ erneut steigern konnten. Bedeutende neue Sendeplätze, z.B. bei Orange TV, Speed Latin America und Zee Sports belegen das große weltweite Interesse an der Serie. Aber auch die gute Zusammenarbeit mit langjährigen Sendepartnern auf der ganzen Welt zeigt, dass die DTM heute ein wichtiges internationales TV-Ereignis ist.“

Erstmalig englischer Live-Kommentar
Erstmals werden die DTM-Rennen in diesem Jahr direkt vor Ort live auch in englischer Sprache kommentiert. Hierfür konnte der renommierte britische Motorsport-Experte Andrew Marriott gewonnen werden. Seine charakteristische Stimme ist regelmäßig bei Motorsportübertragungen auf Sky Sports, Speed Channel und vielen anderen Broadcastern zu hören. Marriott kennt die DTM wie kaum ein anderer, vertont er doch die internationalen Highlights eines jeden DTM-Rennens bereits seit 2001. Er wird dem Renngeschehen durch eine detailgetreue, dramatische Berichterstattung den akustischen Feinschliff geben und so die Sender in Großbritannien, den USA, Asien sowie Süd- und Mittelamerika mit spannendem Live-Kommentar versorgen.

News und Highlights in 175 Ländern
Natürlich müssen Motorsportfans, die im Laufe der Saison ein Rennen verpassen sollten, auch 2009 nicht auf Bilder der DTM verzichten. Kaum sind auf der Rennstrecke die Motorengeräusche verstummt, gehen über die Nachrichtenagenturen SNTV und Reuters die aktuellen DTM-News bereits um die Welt und erreichen in 175 Ländern bis zu einer halbe Milliarde Menschen. So stehen die wichtigsten und spektakulärsten Ereignisse des Rennwochenendes neben Interviews mit den Fahrern bereits 90 Minuten nach dem Rennen den Nachrichtenredaktionen in 175 Ländern kostenfrei zur Verfügung.

In über 70 Ländern weltweit stehen außerdem ausführliche DTM-Highlights auf dem Programm, darunter bei zahlreichen Sendern in Europa, Australien und im Nahen Osten.

In Deutschland überträgt die ARD das DTM-Qualifying samstags jeweils ab 13:30 Uhr (EuroSpeedway Lausitz & Nürburgring: 14:30 Uhr) und sonntags die Rennen ab 13:45 Uhr live.

Buen resultado de Pedro Roca en Portugal

El pasado fin de semana, el piloto mallorquín Pedro Roca se ha desplazado a la localidad lusitana de Covilha, para disputar la Rampa Serra da Estrela, prueba puntuable para el campeonato de Europa de montaña. La prueba, que también puntuaba para el campeonato portugués, tenía un total de 77 equipos inscritos, y se desarrolló en dos jornadas, con tres ascensiones puntuables, de las que se tenían en cuenta los dos mejores tiempos de cara a la clasificación final.
Roca ha conseguido un excelente resultado, obteniendo una sexta posición de la general, solo siendo superado por los potentes fórmulas y barquetas que disputan el europeo. Dentro de los pilotos que puntuaban para el campeonato portugués, Pedro ha obtenido una segunda plaza, a poco más de un segundo y medio de la potente barqueta Juno de 2.000CC de Pedro Salvador, con el que ha mantenido una bonita lucha de tú a tú durante todo el fin de semana.
Después de finalizar la carrera Pedro comentaba: "Ha sido un buen fin de semana, todo ha funcionado muy bien, y hemos conseguido un resultado inmejorable. Me gusta mucho venir a correr aquí, ya la gente es muy amable con nosotros y la organización es sensacional. Ahora ya toca pensar en la siempre cita"
El próximo fin de semana se disputará la Subida Internacional al Fito, segunda prueba puntuable para el nacional de montaña, que también puntúa para el Europeo, donde el objetivo principal será consolidar el liderato del campeonato nacional obtenido en la Subida a Ubrique.

ÉXITO EN EL PRIMER DUCATI TOUR EN MALLORCA

Más de 200 personas se apuntaron a probar los nuevos modelos Ducati 2009 en este primer Ducati Tour en Mallorca.
Organizado por el nuevo concesionario Ducati en Mallorca, Dues Rodes en colaboración con Ducati España.
Con la ayuda del centro comercial Festival Park y el restaurante Lizarrán, este fin de semana Ducati Mallorca quiso invitar a los amantes de la marca italiana a probar las nuevas motos de este año.
Durante toda la jornada del sábado y el domingo los "probadores" fueron haciendo salidas guiadas para disfrutar de estas máquinas en la carretera, contando con un total de 14 motos de prueba, la más demandada fue sin duda la potente superbike 848, pero la más sorprendente para todos ha sido la Hypermotard, una moto divertida y fácil de llevar que todos los amantes de la moto deberían probar en alguna ocasión.
El nuevo concesionario Ducati en Mallorca quiere agradecer a todos los participantes en este evento su correcta actuación y comportamiento, invitándoles a visitar las instalaciones de Dues Rodes en la calle Reina María Cristina para informarse de los nuevos productos Ducati que llegarán a la isla durante estos meses.

David Salom: LUCHA SIN RECOMPENSA EN MONZA

Este fin de semana se disputó en el circuito de Monza la quinta prueba puntuable para el mundial de Superbikes donde participa el mallorquín David Salom con el Team Pedercini.
Las inferiores prestaciones de la Kawasaki de Salom frente a un circuito treméndamente rápdio, fueron el principal escollo para lograr un buen resultado. Con más de 15 Km/h menos de velocidad punta y una aceleración mucho más baja que las motos oficiales, el rendimiento del piloto mallorquín no pudo ser mejor.
En los entrenamientos libres David se colocaba a dos segundos de la cabeza con un tiempo de 1.48.9 por delante de la Kawa oficial de Baiocco.
En la primera tanda cronometrada David rebajaba su crono en un segundo, rodando en un tiempo de 1.47.9 pero los pilotos de cabeza bajaban sus tiempos también y dejaban a Salom en la posición 27.
Clasificado en la posición 27 de parrilla, Salom partiría con el objetivo de alcanzar los puntos en esta quinta prueba del mundial de superbikes.
Un inicio de carrera espectacular con un multiple accidente obligaba a repetir la salida, retrasando la carrera en más de media hora para limpiar la pista de trozos de carenado y aceites.
David realizaba una buena salida y se colocaba en un grupo de cuatro pilotos con los que luchó por avanzar posiciones, el americano Zemke y el italiano Baiocco le pusieron las cosas difíciles a Salom que adelantaba a Iannuzzo y David Checa hasta colocarse finalmente en la posición 19 a las puertas de los ansiados puntos que tanto se resisten.
En la segunda manga Salom volvía a luchar contra Checa, Zemke y Ianuzzo pero los problemas en el neumático trasero y las dificultades para frenar la Kawasaki, obligaron a Salom a saltarse la Chincane en varias ocasiones, lo que le costó una penalización en forma de Right Through perdiendo de esta forma un tiempo precioso. Finalmente David lograba finalizar esta segunda manga en la posición 21.
David Salom "Este es un circuito que no me favorece mucho, por mi estilo de pilotaje, ya que me desenvuelvo mejor en circuitos donde el paso por curva es mas decisivo que la aceleración. Espero que en las próximas pruebas podamos mejorar el rendimiento con la puesta a punto del control de tracción, yo también tengo que acostumbrarme a llevarlo y confío en que conseguiremos mejorar resultados en las próximas carreras."

Winner from last year, Schubert Motorsport, decides to participate again in the 2nd edition of the 12H Hungary 2009.
The first edition of the race in 2008 may have been 12 hours long by the clock, but it was far more of a sprint than an endurance event. The BMW from Schubert Motorsport spent many hours battling with the Jetalliance Porsche 996 RSR. They were seldom more than a lap or two apart, with several on track passes for the lead between them.

In 2010 we celebrate the 5th anniversary of the 24H Dubai. A special event you don’t want to miss. Within four years the 24 hours of Dubai has grown into one of the world most international, well known and respected 24 hour races. In 2009 there were 81 cars, 319 drivers from 33 different countries and 135 media representatives from 21 different countries. With car brands like Renault, Mini, Nissan, Seat, Mitsubishi, BMW, Ferrari, Audi, Aston Martin, Porsche and many other car brands.

About Dubai Autodrome
The 5.39km track at the Dubai Autodrome is one of the most modern in the world; it is also one of the most challenging, as it has a combination of high-speed straights and technical corners. The venue is part of the Union Properties Motorcity development in the greater Dubailand area. The circuit, which contains six different configurations, is designed to allow three circuits to operate simultaneously, safely and independently from each other. The result presents circuit users with unparalleled options.
The circuit was designed to meet the strictest safety requirements and is the first FIA-sanctioned circuit to incorporate wide asphalt run-off areas. The digital surveillance system provides complete coverage of all areas of the track and is linked to the Race/Safety control room for monitoring and saving on hard disk recorders. This means that every incident along the track during a race or event can be viewed by the clerk of the course.
Most facilities are housed in a two-storey ultra modern complex facing the grandstand. These facilities include Pit Complex, Race/Safety Control Room, Timekeeping Room, Media Centre, VIP Suite and Stewards Room. A world-class Medical Centre is situated behind the Pit area for track emergencies during major events.
